Great stay. Modern, clean, stylish, with all the appurtenances. Hot water pressure a bit on the low side.

In fact, we felt safe here. With that said, check in was prompt and polite. We were given two bottles of water (appreciated), the WiFi password and told what the breakfast included hours were. The room was a sweet surprise! It was very large and BONUS there is a Keurig (well, cheaper brand). I travel with my favorite K-cups so I was really pleased. The bathroom is really large and I LOVED the "women's" area. I mean, a place with mirrors including on the side (so I can see the side and back of my head)! Wow! A hair dryer with outlets was right there, too. The toilet was in an enclosed room, too. There is only one negative-- and that is the hot water. It took forever for the water to heat, and even then it was more "tepid" than hot. Breakfast was a pleasant surprised. Coffee machine with a choice of Americamo, Latte, Capuccino etc. Nice! Orange or Apple juice dispenser. Omelette (not hand made for you... more pre-fab, but still good. Potatoes, sausage, yogurt, fruit, pastries. Really a nice setup and much appreciated. We will definitely return here on our next trip South. Good property.

I could've stayed at any other hotel and paid less money and then to have cat bowls by the lobby door that's disgusting. I understand feeding a stray cat, but don't do it in front of the lobby doors if you plan on booking here, I would definitely call and see if the spa is still broken and if you don't want maid service, put a big sign on your door because they entered my room while I was at breakfast even though I asked for no service I had left my wallet in purse and other items out

New Hampton Inn this week. In the area for business and of course needed a place to stay. The…read morereviews here were solid and I expected a great stay. I did enjoy the hotel, very nice, updated, great gym, but a couple issues held me back from giving it 5 stars. I want to highlight the good here first, then the challenges. The hotel seems newer, clean and updated. My room was pretty large, everything up to date except the shower, it was an ADA room (not requested) with all the grab bars, etc. in the shower. They should update it with a roll in shower if anything. I tried to request another room on the 4th floor, but no luck, so I stayed in the room. I wish they did move me though, not only for me being in an ADA room that was not needed, I felt bad, but also, the people above me must have had bricks for feet, so loud and the bathroom also had a musky smell, that seemed to be coming from the drain of the sink. I closed the drain while I was there and the smell was mostly gone at that point. Bed wash comfortable and the rooms have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker, always a plus when traveling. The gym here was great, record weight machine, free weights up to 75 pounds, kettle bells, treadmills, ellipticals and a bike. They also have a water refill station in the gym, a TV and piped in music, I always try yo choose a hotel with a nice gym. This location also has free parking and complimentary breakfast daily, which is a great value. The breakfast here was OK, but did not serve any bacon, sausage or otherwise the days I was there. Now to really the main reason for the 4 stars, was when I first arrived, I checked in to my room via the app as I always do, went directly to my room, dropped off my stuff and unpacked. Noticed I did not have the water that I always get as a Silver member, soon to be gold. So I went down to the front desk to ask for it, I was informed that I needed to be gold to get the free water, which was a first, I am in a Hampton every other week and this is not the policy. She said it was the hotels policy and policies vary, I don't think that is the case, but I would have accepted it, except the way she said it to me and her tone, made me feel less than, since I was not gold, really disappointing in Hilton with an employee like that. Sucks too, as the rest of the staff was great, one person really can ruin things. All in all, I did have a nice stay and would give them another shot, just really disappointing one person can leave a bad taste about a place. Even with the minor issues with the room, I could have looked past those, but the employee really soured it for me. Enjoy!

The room was quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Important things, but that's where the good ends. One reason we chose to come back was because there is a spa. When we checked in they told us it was out of service. As I began reading reviews I can see it has been out of service for a long time and they have no intention of servicing it anytime soon. Our room is crazy outdated, probably has not been updated since the 80s. There are signs in the lobby that say "excuse our appearance while we remodel", but i don't see ANY evidence they are actually remodeling anything. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls, the wall has all kinds of water damage around the tub. It needs a remodel badly, but I don't think it's actually happening. I think the signs are to make you think it's happening. The website advertises room service, the menu online says breakfast 6-10, but there is no room service. The restaurant is closed at 8:40 am as I write this. No room service, and no coffee and no breakfast? Finally, our room was not even looked at or cleaned before we came. There were dried dead bugs in all the corners, and lots of little earwigs running around that we killed. No roaches or bedbugs that I could tell, but definitely lots of outside bugs coming inside and no one doing anything about it. The shower has decent water pressure but when you use it it makes a high pitched noise. The pipes sing the whole time. It's terrible and all needs to be replaced. The furniture is totally outdated the table legs literally look like a small animal chewed them. Now, I have 2 dogs, so I am sure they put me in a "pet friendly" room. But if the room is already destroyed, what am I paying a pet fee for? I have nice well behaved dogs in a room that is already wrecked and you want to charge extra for this room??? Overall, avoid avoid avoid. Unless you just need a bed and a shower and are out the door immediately.

My When I initially booked this hotel reservation, the…read moreproperty appeared very different online than it did in person. online it showed a completely redone lobby and hotel accommodations with no documentation of the Hotel being under construction. Upon arrival, I discovered that the entire exterior and interior of the hotel was under incomplete construction, which was never properly disclosed. The lobby, dining area, and hallways were dusty, and construction noise began every morning at 7:00 AM. Once I got to my room, I quickly realized the air conditioning was not working. I called the front desk requesting that someone come up to address the issue. Shortly afterward, there was a knock at the door, and a small fan had simply been left on the floor outside my room. There was no explanation and no apology from the staff. When I attempted to address the issue further, I was met with arguments and excuses from management instead of customer service and professionalism. I specifically booked an ADA-accessible room because I am in a wheelchair. However, upon entering the room, I discovered that it did not have a walk-in shower. This was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Due to the situation, I had to spend the final two days in a standard room, and because of my spinal cord injury, I was unable to take a shower during that time. To make matters worse, all of the handicap parking spaces were completely blocked by construction bins and materials, creating additional accessibility issues throughout the stay. This hotel should not be operating under these conditions during major construction, especially while failing to properly accommodate guests with disabilities. The level of customer service from hotel management was unacceptable. At no point did I receive a sincere apology for the issues I experienced. Instead of putting the customer first, management chose to argue and justify the situation. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and absolutely not worth the amount of money that my mother, brother, and I spent on our separate reservations during the two days we stayed there. I have never experienced customer service like this at any hotel before

There were also cupboards that were empty. I'm pretty sure that's where the dishes would be if they did have any. They were in the middle of renovating the hotel so there was a pair of ear plugs on my night stand compliments of the hotel. I don't believe they replaced my towels and weirdly, I came back one night and noticed everything was left in its place except for the towel for the floor. For some reason they folded it up and placed it on the sink? As for safety, I felt pretty safe here at night. I came back at 9:30 pm one night and didn't notice any weird activity in the parking lot and I needed my hotel key to get in the side door. Other people that were staying here the same time as I was were also here for work (there were numerous work trucks in the parking lot from the same company, not mine). Would I stay here again? Probably not until the renovations are done. Other hotels usually offer a free continental breakfast and that would've been nice to have here. Hopefully once the renovations are done they may have one (I heard there's a restaurant here). Overall, I slept great, felt safe and it's conveniently located by everything you would need, but I'd like for breakfast to be included and also a little nicer furniture (the mirror in my bathroom had carvings in it).

From the moment my wife, kids, and I got there, they made us feel welcomed and comfortable. The staff was genuinely kind and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They even gave us a complimentary upgrade so we could have more space for the family, which meant a lot and made the stay way more comfortable. What really stood out to me was how attentive they were. My kids can't sleep without a fan, and when I mentioned it, they didn't hesitate to help and found one for us. That level of care and willingness to help is rare these days. We originally booked for just two days, but the hospitality was so good we ended up staying an extra night just because of how well they treated us. That says everything right there. Highly recommend staying here if you want great service, a welcoming atmosphere, and people who really care about their guests.

We booked Candlewood Suites for one main reason -- location -- and it ended up being one of the…read moreeasiest, most comfortable stays we've had in a while. It's about a 20-minute drive to Pismo Beach, and being right off the freeway made getting there ridiculously simple. No confusing turns, no long detours -- just hop on and go. That alone made a huge difference for us since we were going back and forth during the trip. We booked a suite using points (Monday-Wednesday), and the layout worked really well for a family setup. There's a separate bedroom and a living room with a pull-out couch. First night, we gave the kids the couch -- then quickly realized we stay up later than they do, so we flipped it. Kids got the bedroom, and we took the living room. Real talk: the pull-out couch is great for kids... not so much for adults. The mattress is thin, and you can feel every little dip and bar underneath. It's doable, just not what I'd call restful if you're a full-grown adult. For kids though? Totally fine. Now, where this place really stands out is the service. Edson at the front desk was genuinely helpful -- not just polite, but actually useful. Gave solid food recommendations that we ended up trying (and appreciating), and made himself available if we needed anything else. That kind of staff presence makes a difference. Example: our kids can't sleep without a fan. It's a whole thing. We mentioned it, and they were able to provide a small desk fan -- you just sign it out and return it when you leave. Simple, but thoughtful. That level of accommodation isn't something every hotel bothers with. The room itself: * Clean * Spacious * Comfortable overall * Well-maintained No weird smells, no "hotel grime," no second-guessing surfaces -- which, let's be honest, matters. We liked it enough that we extended our stay an extra day and paid out of pocket instead of using points. That says a lot. We're IHG Rewards Diamond Elite members, so we stay within the brand often -- and this one held up. Bonus detail: there are multiple hotel options right in the same area (including a nearby Marriott), all within a small radius, and it's still only about a 7-minute walk to Boomers if you're planning activities. Overall, this stay checked every box: Convenience, comfort, cleanliness, and staff that actually helps. Only minor note -- if you're planning for adults to use the pull-out couch long-term, just be prepared for it to be more "functional" than comfortable. Other than that? Solid stay, smooth experience, and definitely somewhere we'd book again.
