A solid 4.5 star rating. First stay here and would most definitely come back! We had a great time and enjoyed this newly renovated property. The décor is mid-century modern, and they had the most reasonable room rates in the Santa Ynez wine country area we could find for the Valentines/President's Day weekend. Comfortable rooms, friendly/helpful staff, beautiful pool, landscaped grounds, and a huge parking lot (perfect for oversized vehicles/trailers, etc.). We stayed in room 105 which was a double queen bedroom. Super spacious bedroom, bathroom, and it came with an outdoor patio. Upon check in, we received a welcome bag with a couple waters, a bag of chips, and a handful of Andes mints. The bed and pillows were towards the firm side, which was perfect for us. The room was cleaned daily, which is something that many hotels are not doing anymore. There's an onsite restaurant and bar/lounge called "Dave's Place", which I reviewed separately on their own Yelp page. I will say that both were very popular with the locals, as well as the hotel guests, so wait times at the restaurant for breakfast were a norm on the weekend. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would most definitely look into staying here on future trips to this area.

Gorgeous grounds. Midcentury modern rooms with peaceful resort vibes. But being new, this place has some kinks to work out. Also, at first l didn't even know this was the right hotel because Yelp! has it listed as the Village "Oaks" Inn which isn't shown anywhere on their branding. See my pic with their stationery set. *The good*: restaurant and pool/jacuzzi onsite. Though we didn't eat at the restaurant so l cannot say anything about it. The pool and jacuzzi were nice and well kept. They even had two showers there for use as well. As a blonde, it's super helpful for me to not get green hair from the chlorine. Pool towels are there for use, which is great not having to remember to take ones from the room. Both the pool and jacuzzi had handicap chair access. The man checking us in was really nice and helpful. Plentiful parking. And l love the versatility of the parking. We were in building 3 and l was able to park pretty darn close to our room. Minimal walking (a bonus with two young kids who always forget things in the car or the room and need mom or dad to retrieve them). Lots of handicapped parking as well. Quiet and serene location (lots of well maintained grass and trees). Not a lot of through traffic so a much quieter and calmer location than other areas. Less traffic all around, adding to the calm and relaxing vibe. The room we had was on the first floor so we had a private patio with a gate allowing access to walk the short distance to the pool. Also, the patio had a few chairs and an umbrella to enjoy the green belt views. I loved the thermostat inside the room. It was pretty straight forward after messing with it for a few minutes. I appreciate white noise and l was able to set the fan to the highest setting to appease my need for sleeping to the sound of it. *The not so good*: upon arriving, our bathroom sink had hair on it, the mirror wasn't clean (think rolling down your car window after a recent car wash), a light in the bathroom didn't work, and two outlets didn't work either (imagine waking up to start your day with a cell phone at only 4% charge...definitely not a great start). We also had no body wash (body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are located in the shower in a pump bottle format affixed to the wall). *Takeaway*: The grounds are amazing and the rooms are pretty nice overall (l mean this place is newly renovated, l think we were told, so that makes it nice that everything is in pretty pristine condition). ***Would we come back?*** Yeah, if we ever come back to stay in Lompoc, l totally would. It's not super close to the downtown area but it's maybe an 8-10 min drive. Not a deal breaker for us, in fact l think l like it better for that reason. It's just a very safe and quiet relaxing area. l hope the next time we come out that the room is cleaner and that the outlet issue gets fixed. We were in room 307, which had a view of the pool and green space. There is a coffee bar area inside the room which sits on a fridge, also for your use. No microwave though. *Things to note*: Speaking of not having something that you'd come to expect in the room (no, l don't consider a microwave typical), there is no clock in the room. Now a welcome addition is an iron and ironing board in the little alcove where there are hangers for hanging clothes along with some extra blankets. Also, there were electric vehicle chargers in the front parking lot. I don't know if they were compatible with Teslas as we didn't bring ours this trip, but l would hope they'd be able to accommodate all of the ev's coming to stay. Call ahead to make sure.

I've stayed here twice now, and both occasions were pleasant! I can see this being the pitstop while in neighboring areas! It's one of the three things that's totally worth it about Lompoc (while in passing of course) I love, love Embassy Suites by Hilton! Which provides a separation between the bedroom + bathroom (together) and the kitchen + living room (together)! It's tiny, comfortable and well thought out. (The couch is a pull out). This location has superbe customer service! Employees are very courteous, including the cleaning staff which prompted me to tell Mom that management must treat the workers well because everyone took a lot of pride in their work! Breakfast is provided. Mooom got an omelette which they make fresh and we requested that they use a clean pan and the guy was extremely accommodating and very respectful, he went ahead and cleaned out the pan from the meat remnant and made a delicious omelette for my mom (he did the same thing previously for my entire family when we stayed here before! My younger brother communicated to him in Spanish and he was such a gentlemen about it! My Spanish isn't as good so I asked humbly in English last time we went and he responded with the same grace!) 2-3 fire pits downstairs. Tables and chairs in the garden for snacks and food. Love the greenery and landscape. The pool & jacuzzi are swell too!

Had to go back to the front desk and bring them to the room myself. There was also no phone inside the room to even call front desk. The only good thing was check-in was quick and easy.

Unfortunately, the condition of the room was far from what I expected. To start with the positives, both the evening and morning front desk associates were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, that was where the good experience ended. The room itself was in very poor condition. The lampshades were visibly dirty, and one even appeared to have what looked like a speck of blood on it. There was a thick layer of dust--about an inch--on the back side of the TV, which made it clear that the room hadn't been properly cleaned in quite some time. One of the "clean" towels had visible skid marks on it, which was honestly shocking and unacceptable. It didn't stop there--there was mold above the door and also on the bathroom wall. Then, upon checking out in the morning, I noticed a tissue hanging from the ceiling in the shower. That was the final straw. I did inform the front desk associate when I checked out, but I'm still stunned at the overall state of the room. This goes beyond a simple oversight--it reflects a serious lack of upkeep and attention to cleanliness. I hope Red Roof Inn takes a closer look at this location and invests in the maintenance and sanitation it clearly needs. Guests should not have to question basic cleanliness when staying at a hotel.

In the morning it was so cold in the room that I was forced to check out 3 hours early with no shower. The front desk associate was very apologetic and said she would let the manager know. She noted that several heaters had been repaired recently, including that one. When we spoke on the phone the next day, she confirmed it wasn't working and had spoken to housekeeping about the missing soap and shampoo. When I finally spoke to the manager (Jacob), he said he would have to test it and call me back, then said it was working just fine and he could give me a 20% discount on my next stay. We stayed at this one star motel....Boy were we pleasantly surprised…read more So first of all....its a one star hotel. We were nervous because we read all the bad reviews. We booked here anyway last minute due to unavailability elsewhere. Our options were this motel, a campsite with no toilet or sleeping in the car. Regardless we booked on a Sat for $150 total. We arrived in late evening and were greeted by Jacob who was friendly, pleasant and welcoming. Check in was quick and seamless. We arrived to a first floor double room. Because of covid we wiped down all the surfaces and to my very pleasant surprise the wipes were just as white after. I was calmed. There a were couple of aesthethic things...but whatever its a 1 star hotel! The dryer was gone, there was one missing art frame (the had art frames!!!) and there were three wall repairs that were visible... but they were fixed and while the pain didnt quite match, it was clear an effort was made (and would you paint an entire room just for the pain to match or fix it until you're able to do it if you were running a business???!!....... Exactly!). The bed was comfortable although too soft and likely needs to be flipped or rotated. I'm used to my tempur pedic . There was a bit of a slight smell to the room, but it was more like ciagrette than anything...if was mild but noticeable... if it's something that would bother you bring febreeze or an air freshener. We noticed it and forgot about it even though we are sensitive to "scents." The room came with a 32inch (?) TV with dish cable and were able to watch some of our favorite shows including the Golden Girls! Lol...(yes even my millennial generation loves the golden girls!). We ended up booking a 2nd night for half the price for a single queen room. Which had a single queen, a nice small table with two nice faux leather chairs, and a TV that in addition to DISH cable came with Roku..but Internet was slower than I'm used to (I'm used to the fastest). We had difficulty with getting to regular TV because the previous patrons disconnected the cable HDMI. We couldn't figure it out so we called the front desk and Jacob was there within 2 minutes (yes!! 2 minutes, I don't even get this at a 5 start hotel!), he quickly set it all back up for us and even quickly showed us how to use both cable and Roku controllers. What exceptional service!!! This was room had no missing art frames had less patron damage than the first and had upgraded mini fridge. Both rooms came equipped with microwave, iron and ironing board, hangers in an open closet, a mini fridge, free wifi, free cable, and free Roku (access to Netflix, Hulu, Showtime in the 2nd room!) AND I especially loved the recycling containers!!! Both nights we woke up rested, checkout was the easiest! Leave the key and lock the door. For this 1 star hotel, just 17 miles from Solvang, with friendly and fast service it deserves more than a 5 star review. I'm glad now I know Lompoc for more than Mossimo being in its federal prison for the college scandal....lol. We'll be coming back!
