I had a quiet room facing an interior green area. My room was warm but I was able to open the window and that made it very pleasant. And it wasn't noisy at all other than the church bells ringing late in the morning but that was a joy to hear. The area around the hotel is wonderful. And so walkable. Many great restaurants close by and a grocery store right around the corner. You can walk to the Grand Place by going right or left out of the hotel. Close to everything but in a nice and quiet upscale area. I look forward to my nice time here.

Bus 71 was 1-2 minutes walk and that got me close to the historic areas. A separate 8 minutes or less walk to Porte de Namur metro connected to the various train stations. My room was upgraded to the fifth floor and included a balcony with a small table and chairs. It was decent in size but the bathroom was small. A capsule coffee maker and hot pot were included. Per the front desk all the water in the rooms were filtered. Breakfast was included and it was a standard mix of hot foods (scrambled eggs, potato, beans, bacon), cold cut meats, cut and whole fruit, fresh breads, cereals, make your own waffles and coffee machines. Staff were quite friendly. I appreciated all the help from the gentleman from Limerick who helped me plan my way to Bruge. He even made a flat white for me since I wanted it lactose free and the machines couldn't accommodate it. Gym was down at -1 level and had a pink colored punching bag (only second time I've used one at hotel), free weights with bench, mats and cardio equipment. It was roomy and quiet. Overall quiet and comfortable stay if you're wanting to stay outside the touristy areas.

Plenty of space for working or just sitting around having a coffee. 24-hour availability for coffee and snacks, even some fresh baked goods in the morning and afternoon. The room was very comfortable with a nice view. I was upgraded to a balcony room. If I'd had one of the rooms facing in toward the center of the complex, we might have lost a star. Excellent location on a quiet side street about 100 ft from a main Street. A few blocks walk to the Metro. Good TV easy to navigate. Tiny bathroom and shower. Plenty of electrical outlets for charging. In case I didn't mention it earlier, the staff was definitely the highlight of the hotel. Very professional, very friendly, everyone speaks crystal clear English.

I had a room on the top (7th) floor, which was odd because the elevators only went to the 6th floor and then you had to take stairs up. That was fine, but just a bit odd. The room was clean and simple with a small table to work at and decent bathroom. I also got to check in early, so I could actually grab a shower and nap after my redeye flight, which was very nice. The restaurant in the hotel was well-above-average. Breakfast had a nice selection of scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, and a few vegetables. I had dinner one night where I had Octopus, crème brûlée and Chimay Blue beer. All of which were very good. The location was also convenient to my office, most of the European Commission buildings and some basic touristing.

The Room: it was standard and comfortable but that was about it. The biggest drawback was not being able to lower the in room temperature to below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Even with the heater unit off, the room still felt extremely humid. At one point in the night, and I was woken up to my friend attempting to open the windows that were sealed shut. Even coming back in the evening after a full day of exploration, the room still felt extremely warm. We had phoned the Front Desk and an agent came to our room promptly to address the situation. Initially the agent felt that the room should cool down if we leave the heater unit off. As the room still felt extremely warm, and the agent unable to guarantee that the room would cool down; we were offered to change rooms. And so we did. The Morning After: well, the new room also felt extremely warm throughout the night. Upon my departure of the hotel, I was told that unfortunately the temperature settings cannot go below 60 degrees Fahrenheit, as it is normally much colder in January and so the heaters are meant to negate the colder temperatures. Not the greatest answer to hear as much of night was sweaty. The hotel served a purpose for my time in Brussels but that I may not stay here again in the future.

The location of the hotel is also pretty central without being in the center of the madness. The rooms are spacious with a lovely bathroom set up. The inroom coffee machine was also a great perk.

Checking in was easy and because I was early arriving no rooms were ready, but that changed quickly and there's a very nice lounge area with cozy chairs and high top work tables with power so you can be productive relax while waiting for your room. The brekkie is top shelf and I joined colleagues in the hotel restaurant for dinner and ate there myself a couple times during the weeks stay. The staff was always super friendly and responsive and the beer was always cold! The hotel seems to be a very popular spot and dinner service is a busy all the nights I was there. I knocked and turns out the front desk gave me an occupied room. I finally, after another long wait, got a correct room. The room was ok but very loud because apparently the centuries old building next door is being demolished or renovated and the workers are quite industrious, as in they start in early a.m. so bring ear plugs. Very disappointed in this Marriott property as it did not live up to my expectations for the brand.
