The main pool has cabanas for rent, an infinity edge overlooking the beach and ocean, a swim up bar and restaurant, and poolside service for food ad drinks. Diego was especially helpful. Lena restaurant has a swim up bar in the main pool and their menu includes pizza, sandwiches salads, and tacos. The family pool also has poolside service for food and drinks. Shout out to Fidel and Angel for their excellent service! The family pool is near the kiddie pool and play area which has a water system kids can run through and a small water slide. Mio restaurant is on it's own small pool with an infinity edge and beautiful view. Mio menu includes sushi, noodle dishes, pad Thai, and poke, all of which were excellent. We had several dinners at the Sotol restaurant off the lobby. Their menu includes tacos, steak quesadillas, and pasta dishes. Bartender/server Jesus provided great friendly service and made us feel cared for each night when we stopped by for after dinner drinks. Talavera restaurant is where the huge breakfast buffet was each morning, offering a very affordable continental breakfast, or a full breakfast. We found the continental offered more than enough options to satisfy us with lots of great choices including oatmeal with an array of toppings, granola and other cereals, about 20 different types of pastries/breads each day, and a fresh fruit bar. The full breakfast also offered meats, cheeses, custom made breakfast tacos, breakfast cocktails, and a smoothie bar. There's also Los Arcos Roasting Company coffee shop off the lobby, and Starbucks coffee and ice cream available in the Dulce shop near the family pool. This Hilton also has a doctor onsite 24 hours a day. This was a relief to us as one member of our family had an ear ache. The doctor did an exam and diagnosed an ear infection and provided the antibiotics right then and there. The doctor had her come back in the next day for a follow-up and the infection cleared up. Some of the less attractive things about the hotel are the weak, expensive cocktails served poolside, beachside, and everywhere, with prices consistent across all venues and flavors and alcohol content very watered down. Talavera Bar is the only difference. Another notable matter is the 15% service charge on everything! And you find yourself tipping on top of the service charge! As a Diamond member, I receive a complimentary breakfast for two each day, but I was billed $12 service charge and a tip each morning. I would still recommend this hotel as a vacation destination for its beauty, tranquility, and comfortable suites.

Our Uber driver had to give his drivers license to the security at the gate and they also opened the trunk to make sure there were no suspicious goods. The checkin process was very smooth and the staff were very friendly. We were offered drinks to relax while waiting for our room to be ready. The room was very spacious with an unobstructed view of the beautiful ocean. The AC in the room worked well, in fact maybe too well sometimes. :) We had every meal in the resort since we came here just to relax and enjoy our time there thus we did not want to venture outside of the resort much. Being a Bonvoy titanium member, we were offered free American breakfast with a discounted upgrade to the buffet option. We alternated between the two throughout our stay. What surprised me more was that we were also offered free buffet on a couple of days when there was a hurricane. I did not expect the resort to compensate for things out of their control but they did and it was a very pleasant surprise. Early September is the valley season there so we had plenty of pool chairs and most people stayed near the adult pool which also has a swim up bar. The property also has a few other pools with a dedicated private pool for guests staying at the Casa Maat. The most outstanding and memorable experience during our entire stay was the service. Every staff member that we interacted was excellent and extremely helpful. We did not need to signal to them to help out with the pool chair, or ordering food or drink. They would constantly checking on us a making sure everything was good. This type of exceptional service was something that I would not forget and would also be the reason for me to stay here again when I revisit this part of the world. I especially appreciate our Elite Ambassadors Karla & Axel. They handled many of our requests during the stay and were extremely helpful. There are also many member of the staff that I want to thank them for their excellent services but unfortunately I could not remember all their names. The rooms don't seem very soundproof. We could hear quite a bit from outside as well as from neighboring rooms at night. It made it a little tough to get a solid night's sleep. They offer sample drinks and popsicles at the pools. Their attention to detail is flawless and everything is well thought out. The resort has an adults only pool, a family infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and another shallow kids pool. Plenty of lounge chairs and was never too busy. The food was fantastic from the poolside kitchen to the on site property restaurants to the private chefs. Honestly some of the best food I've had in my life. The spa is world class and I highly recommend it. We had some of the best nail service, massages, and facials ever. Everyone is well trained and very skilled and experienced in their area of expertise. They have complimentary golf carts that take you anywhere on the property and we never had to wait for one. Everyone is so friendly, inviting, and professional. I truly appreciated everyone's hospitality and warmth. The best part was our private butler who cooked our meals, arranged all activities and transportation off the property, did laundry, and even found our missing shoes that flew across the resort! lol. The daily breakfast was much better than the normal American Hyatt Place buffet. All dishes were actually fresh made (not frozen/dried/reconstituted). Loved the chilaquiles, fresh pineapple/cantaloupe/papaya, and the Spanish chorizo (linguica?). Our 1st few nights in the room seemed quite warm and we just figured we weren't use to the area. After the 3rd night we decided to ask for fans and to have the AC checked out. They quickly came up and determined the compressor failed. By that afternoon they had relocated us to a comparable room. At the end of our stay, the AGM Alan, comped our 3 nights due to the AC issue... which was above and beyond service! Exceeded expectations for sure. To top it off, we learned early in our stay, that they had complimentary beach chairs and an umbrella to be used for beach trips. We checked these items out, for free, on a handful of days to the beach. Saved us the money and hassle as well as kept us comfy while getting our daily beach time in. The pool is surrounded on three sides by buildings, with trees on the fourth side, so there are small windows for sunshine, but as long as you move around as the sun moves, you should be able to find sunshine. I love the padded lounge chairs. Right across the street is a path to take you about two blocks to the beautiful wide but unswimmable beach, which was almost deserted in early March. There's a nice lobby and a long patio with comfortable seating. Friendly bilingual staff. There's a 24 hour security guard. Flavored water late morning to early afternoon in the lobby. The room was comfortable and well made each day. My bath towel left on hook was still taken away to be laundered. The bathroom sink faucet is 1/2 inch from the edge of the sink, making it difficult to use. The buffet was great, but not fully set up until 45 minutes after opening most days. The menu changed frequently, with the Chilaquiles green chili casserole being my favorite. The OJ was basically flavored water compared to what I'm used to. The hotel can be loud. The windows appear to be singled paned, and busy Highway 1 is right next to the hotel, so you'll hear lots of traffic noise including unmuffled dump trucks. Every morning at 2 AM, an extremely, obnoxiously, exceptionally loud motorcycle went by and woke me up, even with earplugs and white noise running. The hotel is also right under the airport flight path, so about every 20 minutes a jet will roar overhead. The exercise room has a rack of free weights, four treadmills, two bikes, and an elliptical. They don't appear to do any recycling. Overall, I'd recommend it especially given the price point of about $110 plus $30/nt in fees.
