#1 best thing about this hotel was the staff and cleanliness Especially front desk clerk Jimena (sp?)
Now for - The Good - The Bad - The Ugly
Let's start with Ugly and go from there!
Construction right new door! Drilling, hammering, dusty & loud ALL DAY LONG, Sat & Sunday! I was coughing dust all night long. Doors rarely open just to get a fresh (ha!) burst of air from the stagnant in our room.
The Bad
The horribly, I mean horrible firm bed. I have a firm bed at home but this was beyond. I asked for a mattress cushion or cover or something & they don't have any. So I asked for extra blankets to try to cushion it up myself. They were very sweet & I received two more within 2 min of asking at the front desk. Unfortunately, still no bueno. My fiancé agreed.
The towels were very rough & fraying. You get three bath towels, one floor mat & one hand towel & no washcloths.
The NOISE! Be prepared you can hear everything from the cars on the road, the town center square, anyone talking in the courtyard. They do provide ear plugs! I always travel with my own.
THE GOOD-
As mentioned before, the staff, hotel location & price. Loved, loved the location. In the heart of the downtown district. Lots of shops (overpriced), great restaurants everywhere like Habaneros & Ruba's. Most don't even show up on Yelp! So I submitted some additions.
The room is adequate, VERY well maintained, but it's a boutique hotel so not fancy. It was very clean & well cared for.
Hotel Colli is a generational, family owned establishment, which I love and you can feel.
Things to note: small hotel shop where you will get your free self-serve morning coffee or water. Pay for snacks, soda, sunscreen, other items you might have forgotten or ran out of that you pay for on honor system at front desk. There are water dispensers on each floor for your in-room carafe.
All in all if it wasn't for the constant construction & horrible beds, I'd recommend & stay here again. read more
