This place has gone down hill! Such a disappointment. The sports bar is a total joke and rip offs. The food is not hot and they don't tell you that an A la Carte Taco is $10. Service was turtle slow! For a sports bar they are trying to tailor it like a restaurant and it's truly a joke. If you can avoid eating at the resort please do so. Go into town for a better experience on your buck. Another issue is folks playing loud speakers by the pool. Entitled American idiots that have no respect or courtesy for others. This resort looks like a 5 star but the service is a 3 star. Don't be surprised that when you checkout that you will pay an additional $150-200 dollars in Mexican taxes alone. these include IVA federal tax, sanitation fees, restaurant fees, service charge, Solmar Foundation charges. Make sure you check your final bill thoroughly before you checkout. Be prepared to pay. Here is an example!

As a member of the Resort we are very disappointed that they would try use our credit cards. Without our permission and charge and blame it on the computer system. After we have arrived home 2 weeks later charges are still being processed and no one can help with the situation. I called , left messages. E mails. And not the supervisor, manager Angel, Maya, Marco . Can do anything about it . This charger were made by the Resort without our Approval . they charged $3500. Now I had to report them as Fraud to my credit card company. Be careful when you check inn at the front desk . They see tourist as $$ Ways to rob you any opportunity they can get even in a Resort !

Another beautiful resort on the beach in Cabo San Lucas and less expensive than the Waldorf but not as swanky. I would definitely stay here at some point. The corner rooms are nice and have a full ocean view!

We had an amazing vacation in our time share at Solmar Ends. Omar was great & took care of us from the moment we checked in. Felipe at the lunch place was awesome & friendly. All the staff from housekeeping, servers, bar, valet, massage, salon were great. Keep up the excellent service. We will be back as owners & for the service & immaculate property.

I was given a chance to explore this place on a time share presentation. Well worth my time because I will be coming back. We were treated to breakfast, discounted adventure tours, and a free one week stay with them. The rooms are incredible, I highly recommend giving them two hours if your day or just booking here the waves are amazing but you can't swim here. The pools are great.

We really enjoyed our first trip to this resort for my brothers wedding. We stayed on the property in a 2 bedroom suite and loved the experience. The rooms were spacious and were cleaned both in the morning and again in the evening for turndown service. The property has several pools including swim up bars and restaurants with cuisine choices for everyone - the shrimp tacos at the sports bar were my favorite lunch pick. Breakfast at La Roca was delicious - you have to get the fruit salad, green juice, and omelette. Dinner portions throughout the week include taco night, Italian night, Brazilian rodizio, and sushi night. We spent many days lounging by the pool and appreciated the attentive service for food and drinks. Everyone was willing to help and make sure we were taken care of. If you're looking for an all inclusive with beautiful views, walking distance to the marina and restaurants, and good service - look no further than the GSLE! Thank you to Manny, Mr. Ortega, and Jazmin for making sure everything went smoothly for our wedding party experience.

The location, ambiance and warm professional staff make this a dream vacation. Walking distance very safe 1-2 miles from town. Cabo San Lucas Katherine at front desk thoughtfully sent us a Happy Anniversary charcuterie plate

Grand Solmar... It's okay. It was our first trip to Cabo San Lucas and our first all-inclusive resort with a child. We did a ton of research before booking. This hotel always popped up in the "top 10" of whichever sponsored or non-sponsored sham advertisement site I looked at. It was tough to find honest or genuine reviews, and I certainly don't buy into TripAdvisor. I also looked at YouTube a lot--same thing, a ton of bs 2-minute videos about the place but nothing good. Well, there was one, but it also seemed like Grand Solmar paid them to be here because they were able to show every single room in the hotel somehow. So, here we are. I'd give this resort a 5 out of 10 or 3 out of 5. When we arrived, I was stoked. A margarita cart in the lobby! However, the check-in process was terrible! It took about an hour. First, they check you in and pre-charge your card for $500.00. THEN you believe you're going to schedule your dining, but INSTEAD, they send you to a sales pitch person and a timeshare free breakfast! Not only do you get a "fantastic" non-rushed free breakfast for visiting a sister property, but they will knock off 100 bucks on an excursion! At no time is she telling us the rub... we're just "visiting" the new property up the coast for half a day to eat breakfast. We had to ask, "It's a sales pitch, right?" And she finally divulged what it was. Once that debacle was done, we had to walk over and introduce ourselves to the concierge, who wasn't overly excited to input our reservations for our stay. Only to be told, "You don't really need reservations." Yes, if you don't mind waiting up to an hour. So once that is out of the way things went okay. The pools are plentiful and decent. Some look dirtier then others, perhaps due to the beach or people. We went in august and the pool had to be 90 degrees. It wasn't very refreshing. For the most part it was peaceful at the pool. There would always be the occasional college kid or adult throwing them back but there was never a problem. It was pretty easy getting seat at either pool. Fun fact, you can only get bottled water via a pool waiter or the front desk. Otherwise you get two 16oz bottles in your room a day. You also can't get any sort of coffee or ice cream unless you pay for it (outside the all inclusive) or go sit down, get served, sign your receipt and leave which took us 30 minutes for a cup of coffee. If you don't do the all inclusive the menu prices are a joke. For a Sizzler style steak they charge $60 and $12 for a craft beer. Blended drinks at the pool are about $20.00 after tip, if you don't do all inclusive. As for the food. It's meh! My old lady hated the food here. Me and the kid thought it was okay. La Roca, their flagship was disappointing. The steak was very difficult to cut and tasted like it was select meat. The pork dish had no flavor which I found odd. The white fish was overdone and rubbery. Don Luis was meh too. Once again the fish was rubbery. The fried version was okay but had zero flavor. Once again the beef filet was hard to cut. The Asian Lounge was interesting. The food was okay but the only downside was that it was only outdoors. Tough when it's 95 outside with 70% humidity. We're wine drinkers and the wine that is included is terrible. Like $7.99 terrible. You can buy a lot of good wines but they mark up the bottle 3x the price. So if it cost $40.00 in the states it will cost you 120.00 here. It's difficult to pay $120 for La Crema... The rooms are decent and spacious. But the amenities are lacking. For instances we asked for slippers and we got used re-washed slippers. Our TV didn't work and we were told that they needed new parts. I cut my foot at the pool and the front desk said I had to buy bandaids. The bed was uncomfortable, stiff, we didn't sleep well. There was also odd sounds coming from our room. From water pipes to the fridge. So, would I come back here. Probably not. I'm sure there are better places but it depends what you're looking for. The location is cool, secluded and quiet but it comes with too many issues.

Even the lizards love Grand Solmar!

Stayed at Grand Solmar while on vacation with the family and we had a WONDERFUL time. The hotel is beautiful and well appointed. We were very comfortable there and took advantage of all that it had to offer -- and there is alot. We had a beach front room (I think most rooms are since it sits on the beach) so we fell asleep with the waves crashing against the shore and woke to breathtakng views. There were tons of activities happening at the resort and we took in most of them. This includes an "Open air market" where local artisans had an opportunity to sell their wears -- it was very nice. Perhaps one of the best expereinces was the resturaunts! Each one had its own style and the food was very good. The wait staff was attentive and freely made suggestions when asked. Standouts were Freddy and Elianit at LaRoca who were just wonderful as we had breakfast their daily. Alexis from the Sports Bar was also wonderful as he remembered my order from previous nights and was incredibly personal and attentaive. We chose the "All-Inclusive" option and definetly took full advantage. Gregorio at LaRoca and Fernando at poolside were also staff members worth mentioning! Graciela was our housekeeper and made sure we always had clean linens, towels and tolitries. I read through a few other reviews that mention being put-off based on the timeshare "scam" and I get it. Timeshares are BIG in Cabo but if you are firm that you are not interested from the beginning you will have a better experience. I know it can be tough becuase the offers are AMAZING but just keep in mind there is a reason why they are so amazing! We are looking forward to returning!

While the theft itself was extremely concerning, the most disappointing part of our experience was the response from front desk staff and management. Rather than demonstrating urgency, empathy, or accountability, we were made to feel as though we had done something wrong. Our concerns were not taken seriously, and there was little effort to investigate, provide reassurance, or offer any meaningful resolution. Due to the lack of trust that followed, we no longer felt comfortable allowing staff into our room and declined housekeeping for the remainder of our 4-night stay. This significantly impacted our comfort and overall experience. For a property of this caliber, both the incident and its handling fell far below expectations. This experience left a lasting negative impression and raises serious concerns about guest safety and how such situations are managed. We would strongly encourage management to take this matter seriously and address both the incident and their response to it, as it significantly impacts guest trust and safety.

I was confused when I got there - the website shows an overview of the ocean and their beach house - which is on the beach, but the actual hotel is a few blocks inward. They offer a golf cart ride down the street to drop you off. When you are at the beach house you let them know you're staying with the Bahia and entitled to certain discounts. So the staff is attentive and courteous. The pool looks good but it was primarily empty. The food looked good - we had breakfast there and it was very good. The beach house has an open area to sit down inside with shade, and there's a small sectioned off area on the beach in the sand. You get waitstaff to get drinks for you. At times it can get really crowded, but then again it was busy there - right after Spring Break. It is quite loud and noisy there - with music and crowds. The rooms - were very nice. The bed was king, it was firm, it was comfortable, it was clean. There was also an extra small bed aside for guests - we never used it. It is spacious. The bathrooms were nice and clean too. The doors are heavy and secure, so make sure when you leave they are completely closed and locked because one night we thought so - but it did not latch. We came back and the door was open, we freaked out, but all was good and safe. We were lucky. Just make sure the door is secure and latched and you'll be fine. But overall I thought this place was great and I would recommend them. The rooms are very nice and clean. Staff was accommodating. If you're okay with it not being exactly on the beach then you'll be fine here.

We heard nothing but raving reviews from our guests about the rooms and cleanliness of the entire resort. I already had family and friends asking when we can come back for our anniversaries lol. Now for our wedding: The planning through Casa Dorada's wedding coordinator, Katherine Anaya, was seamless and so easy. I can't express enough how amazing she was to handle everything for my husband and I since we are from California. The location of the resort is perfectly on the beach with nearby bars and restaurants. Yes you can hear the music from the bars but it stops at 9:30/10pm. Didn't hear any complaints from any of ours guests (ages 25-83). The wedding ceremony and reception was at the 12 Tribes Terrace and they really transformed the atmosphere to be exactly how I envisioned the wedding! If you're hesitant about doing a destination wedding in Cabo, I researched about 20 resorts and landed on Casa Dorada because of the value, location and how beautiful the resort looks. We are so happy with how our wedding came out and how amazing the staff is at this resort. We want to highlight our amazing wedding planner (through the resort) Katherine Anaya who handled everything for us and made sure the whole wedding experience was stress free and seamless for us. Her first impression through email with me truly made me feel her hospitality and kindness. Meeting her in person for our pre-wedding trip January 2026 just solidified that we have an amazing person helping create our wedding vision and bring it to life! She even went as far as having a custom wedding slideshow playing in our hotel room that had our pictures from our wedding website. The attention to detail Katherine gives is beyond what I could've ever imagined from anyone! Another person I want to mention was Rene at the 12 Tribes Restaurant. We met him during our pre-wedding trip and he handled everything with ease for our signature His/Her drinks and our food tasting samples. Right away his great hospitality and kind spirit could immediately be seen and felt. For our wedding in April 2026, Rene remembered us and gave nothing short of excellent service during our entire wedding week when we saw him or ate at the 12 Tribes restaurant. Rene was actually a server during our wedding and was making sure everything was going smoothly and made sure we felt at home. Two more people who are worth mentioning: Heriberto at the swim-up bar and Michele at the B Bar. Two awesome people who love what they do. They remembered us each time we came back to them. They remembered our drink orders and truly made us feel like family there. If you're thinking about a wedding at Casa Dorada, my advice to you is do it and you won't regret it. It truly felt like our home away from home. Muchas gracias Casa Dorada!!! We will definitely be back! This isn't goodbye, but see you soon!!

He told me that we WOULD get to know each other. He pushed his phone to me with his Instagram. It was full of pictures of naked women. I went to the host desk. I smiled, so I wouldn't upset him further. I kept smiling and told them I needed him to go away. He came up behind me. They called hotel security, who quickly came over. The man (Ryan) left with his bottle of wine. Security escorted me to my room. I saw him waving from the balcony of a room above mine, very near. I asked to be moved. I was frightened. They changed my room, but I did not sleep the entire night. The next morning, I spoke to the manager, Francisco Escuer. He told me: "I watched the tape, you were talking to the man and smiling. You smiled at the host stand. Why were you smiling if you were asking for help to get away from that guy?" I said, "Because he was coming after me, and that's what women do, so we don't aggravate men we know are dangerous." He said, "Well, his girlfriend didn't report anything." Again, I said: "Women don't report abusers because they are not believed, just like you are not believing me." Escuer also screamed at me and accused me of recording our conversation. He made physical gestures toward me during this. I told him I needed the tape, his information and the hotel's information. He refused to give me anything and yelled at me. I had to check out, pay for that stay, and another hotel. Escuer/the hotel are not safe for women.

Pool service was inconsistent, and there often seemed to be a shortage of pool towels. Entertainment options were limited, and with only three restaurants on-site, dining choices felt somewhat restricted. Of the three, Latitud 23.5 was by far the best and the one we found ourselves returning to most often. Guests should also be prepared for a fairly aggressive timeshare presentation pitch. Additionally, the advertised complimentary 45-minute massage per room for direct online bookings appeared to be more of a marketing gimmick, as multiple staff members seemed unaware of the promotion during our stay. While we had a pleasant experience overall, we're likely to try a different resort next year. The Lazy River was the highlight, but the overall experience wasn't quite enough to bring us back.

Visit Cabo regularly and decided to stay at a different resort than we usually do. Based on the…read moreprice range we had high expectations of this resort. We are on our last day of the trip and must say we are very disappointed with this resort and will not be staying here again. For starters we were greeted by Norma who identified as our concierge and that she would book reservations for us throughout the week. She was eager to help us book UNTIL we declined to attend her "presentation". After that we were told we could go to the activities desk for assistance. Guess she doesn't get commission unless we attend the presentation. My next concern is the front bellhop /taxi/transportation area, there is a big scam going on that has negative impact on customer ratings for any rideshare service. I go downstairs with my golf clubs to catch my Uber. The gentlemen Say here is your taxi take my golf clubs and put them in the back of another vehicle not the one I had reserved. This happened several times before we noticed what they were doing. Then they flat out asked for a tip for putting my clubs into a vehicle that I did not request . Service at the beach club area is awful, the staff is very arrogant and unhelpful. It is an indescribable event and feeling to get up from your table to order drinks from the bar because you have not seen a server . While ordering g drinks your server to finally appear and offer you the bill for one rounds of drinks when you are clearly sitting at a table. This guy didn't even offer to help me back to the table w the 5 drinks I had ordered. But he sure did point to the tip area twice on the bill/check. We get up early everyday- have breakfast and explore, visit the beach, play golf or sit around the pool. On day 1 of our visit, we noticed the rooms are cleaned late in the afternoon almost evening. We requested our room be cleaned around 130 each day so it would be fresh when we returned. Staff has failed to comply with this request, yesterday our room had not been cleaned by 5pm. We communicated with the front desk again so fingers brother will get it correct today. For this resort to be so beautiful and I. Such an amazing location it is sad that the staff is so unhelpful and unfriendly.

BUT......Esperanza is on a different level and if you have the means....by all means I HIGHLY recommend staying here. The ocean view suites are stunning with amazing views. The beach is great to swim. The pools are great. The restaurants offer varied options....although we only ate at one and it reminded me of a Luau. Gold courses close by. Pickleball and Tennis courts. Basketball courts. Great gym and spa. With so many options and so many new places popping up...I think Esperanza still is the tops with it's gorgeous grounds and stunning service.
