We did not know what really to expect, although I had read all the reviews carefully for at least 10 places in the Valle de Guadalupe. So happy we landed on Contemplación! We want to commend Paco, the owner, for his attention to every detail in the design of the cabañas, each of which has a glorious view of the valley and mountains. And the pool has the most beautiful siting of all. The restaurant (and its wonderful staff) were a joy--we enjoyed the very good breakfast every day (included with the room) and a few other meals as well. It's nice to have a truly indoor restaurant when it is chilly or too hot--all delivered through the solar panels at the site. We wished the jacuzzi was a little warmer in the chilly winter, but the deep pool is excellent for some quick laps. We hope to return.

Wow!!! First time in Valle and Contemplación guaranteed an amazing experience. I was a little nervous about coming to Mexico but There was minimal worry as long as you are cautious. The drive from Tijuana border to Valle was easy. Finding hotel using google maps easy- with a bit off roading. Contemplación gave us the most unique experience we could ever have in states. I have been to Napa, Temecula and Paso Robles and nothing compares. You get a unique campo experience with five star restaurants and wine. The hotel and service are five star. The room has you feeling like you are camping in a vineyard. We called reception at night for help and they came right away. The grounds are amazing and enjoyed my daily walks. The fire pits at night are the cherry on top. Enjoying a last minute drink with friends in a vineyard under the stars. I would highly recommend and would love to return.

This review is primarily for the restaurant Savila Blanca at the Hotel Contemplación. The restaurant is located in the main building of the hotel, which consists of various cottages scattered on the hillside once you enter the hotel grounds. The restaurant has a modern feel with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The restaurant offers a limited menu of local Baja med fare, including chamorro (pork shank), roasted marrow bones, jaiba (crab) burritos, and some assorted tacos. There is also a cheese platter, although their wine selection is limited. Everything is somewhat pricey ($15+), but the food was well prepared with fresh ingredients. The real star in my opinion are the craft beers they offer, prepared in house and infused with local fruits and herbs. The sage one is particularly good. As for the hotel itself, I did not stay here but according to staff it has a dynamic pricing structure with the cottages costing up to $500 per night. A staff member showed our party one of the loft-type cottages and they are spartanly decorated but have floor to ceiling views of the surrounding countryside. The bathrooms were elegant, with standalone tub and rainfall showers. The loft cottage had a king size bed on the top level and bunk beds on the lower level. There is no TV but the room had a projector setup to connect to your laptop for Netflix, etc. The hotel is definitely designed with retreat and solace in mind, but whether that's worth $500 a night seems unlikely, as there is nothing to do on the grounds and there are better and more luxurious hotels in the area for a lesser price. The views are definitely impressive, though.

Stayed here for 2 nights in the 1 bedroom suite. The room had a living room, kitchenette, large bathroom, bedroom and 2 large decks with views of the valley. Check in was quick and the staff was amazing. The food at the restaurant was the best we've had in the area. You can get to most wineries and restaurants within 10-15 minutes. Would definitely stay again.

Views are amazing! The staff was Covid-conscious and super friendly. Complimentary breakfast was amazing. There's a dirt road to get into Contemplacion and even with GPS we missed it. I docked 1 star because if it's a boutique and paying high dollars for 1 stay then I feel like the towels should be of better quality. They were on the rough side and it wasn't because of lack of fabric softener. Other than that, I would highly recommend.

We travel constantly, and I have to say the upgraded room is one of our favorite places we have ever stayed... The area is up-and-coming, so there are a lot of gravel roads, but there is amazing food nearby such a Deckmans, which is very expensive, but well worth it and la cocina de doña Estella, which has been voted the best breakfast restaurant in the entire world... If you want to try out the restaurant, make sure you're there before 8 o'clock otherwise there will be about a mile of cars waiting... But back to the hotel, it was perfect in every way... Very romantic. The only negative is there are not very many food choices locally as Guadalupe valley is in a somewhat remote location, but that adds to the charm and does not take away anything from the experience... You just need to plan ahead and bring groceries to cook whatever you want to eat when you don't wanna go out... For the price, this place is well worth it, you won't regret it.

Everything about this place is a lie. Starting with all the fake 5 star reviews made a month ago when this hotel wasn't even open. There is no local breakfast, as pictures show, only fruit and yogurt. The owner put the cheapest queen beds in every room and the whole room shakes when you walk around. Like it's about to fall over. The host told us we could not use toilet paper in the toilet and there was a trash can that we had to use. It was never emptied during our 2 day stay. The rooms are located at the top of a steep dirt road which I challenge anyone to drive up in a normal car. My lifted 4 x 4 had a hart time. When problems arose the management was unpleasant and rude. Clearly they have a thing or two to learn about hospitality. I do not recommend this place as they will not treat you properly and the owner Paco and his daughter on the property have no say at the end of the day, just some jerk called Anthony in Chula Vista who should go back to washing cars.

Beautiful hotel customer service was exceptional from reception to waiters everyone is great ! The hotel was very cute with great views !

Yumano Restaurant @ Meglan Review…read more We rolled in hangry and ready to inhale anything. The ceviche saved our souls - fresh, tangy, and gone in sixty seconds. Then came the ribeye... and let's just say it was giving well-done sadness. They didn't ask how we wanted it cooked, so we ended up gnawing on steak that was tougher than our Monday mornings. Presentation was gorgeous though, so at least our eyes were fed. We also did the wine tasting with four wines. Honestly, they were just okay - but to be fair, we were so tired and hungry we probably could've sipped grape juice and called it a day. Overall, come for the ceviche and the views, skip the ribeye unless you're training your jaw, and maybe do the tasting when you're not on the brink of a hanger meltdown. Huevo Republic @ Meglan Review Breakfast is included... kinda. It's not anything off the menu - you get select items or they'll deduct $10 off your bill if you want to live your best brunch life. I got the chilaquiles and they were solid - the half order is what counts as "free," but it was enough to fuel my wine adventures for the day. The first morning was so slow, like waiting-for-your-crush-to-text-back slow, but day two was popping. They got my order wrong, but honestly, I was too hungry to care and just ate it anyway. ‍ Their green juice was surprisingly good, and my friend's hot cakes with fruit looked fluffy and happy - though I think the half order would've been plenty unless you're training for a carb marathon. Staff was sweet, just busy, so some things slipped through the cracks. But we rolled with it. Because at the end of the day... we were in Valle, drinking wine before noon. Life could be worse. Aroma @ Meglan Review My friend needed a jolt of coffee after her coffee... so take that as you will. The coffee itself was good, but the service could use a little caffeine boost too. My friend doesn't speak Spanish, and the barista pretended not to understand her until I ordered in Spanish - suddenly, everyone was bilingual. We grabbed her drinks, sat for a bit, and soaked in the pretty scenery before making the long trek back to our part of the property. Honestly, worth it for the views and decent brew - just make sure you come caffeinated enough to order your coffee for your coffee.

This hotel has a few restaurants, coffee shop and winery/brewery, while my hotel had a restaurant but was closed the day we decided to try Yumano. I wanted something simple and easy since I joined my friends late, so I went for the margherita pizza. The server was friendly and checked in a couple times while I was there and bringing us new drinks. The pizza was delicious and gave me leftovers for the next day. Overall, an easy dining experience!

The owners did an incredible job honoring the desert beauty by restoring this gorgeous Moroccan inspired hotel that seems to nestle perfectly in the heart of town. You truly enter a little vortex, where everything you could need is on-site and within walking distance. The outside world seems to fade as you walk through the entrance doors. We celebrated a birthday as a couple where we indulged in a one night stay, in the King suite, enjoying the amenities exclusive to hotel guests. We dined at the restaurant, ordered poolside foods & drinks, sat by the bar, soaked in all the bathing areas, and enjoyed the little nooks to lounge. We stayed on a Sunday night and felt we had spaciousness from other guests and privacy to fully relax. Absolutely recommend visiting for an overnight stay as the exclusivity of hotel specific areas is a must to experience. The rooms are also gorgeous and minimalist by nature. The comfort of the bed and clean linens after a day of soaking topped it all! Truly had one of the best nights of sleep and wanted to do it all over again when we rose. As mineral spring connoisseurs, we were impressed by the cleanliness and purity of the waters. Truly healing on every level!! Maintenance staff actively were testing temperature, ensuring the waters remained comfortable and well-kept. Staff overall were helpful and kind. The restaurant menu was diverse and fitting for the setting--hitting the spot with flares of Mexican cuisine. The touches of healthfulness on the menu were appreciated. The pozole soup was warming and a highlight for visiting during the Winer season. Lastly, I can't forget to nod the eclectic and cozy bar, where we enjoyed live music and appetizers before our main sitting. The decor, bites and hospitality took us to another time and place. We intend to visit this hidden gem seasonally as it absolutely nourished and transformed our spirit! & Shoutout to Julie who made our stay unforgettable.

Two hours later the electricity goes outand with it the AC/heater unit, and so I call the front desk and they tell me that it's got to do something with the electric company, funny because there's light in the hallway and other rooms, but not mine. It takes them 3 hrs to solve the issue, which was to reset the circuit breaker. Next morning I check in with the front desk to see if I could go hike on the grounds and or use the jacuzzi, they said it was "unavailable", "all we have is the restaurant and the rooms". Would the website have mentioned the amenities were not available,I would've not stayed there.Monday morning a water line broke,so there was no water in the building I was staying in. I asked to see if I could be put in another room so that my lady and I could shower and get ready and they declined. They said there was no water in the entire hotel. I was pretty upset at this point because now I would have to check into another hotel to shower,so I asked for a one night refund. When I initially asked ,they told me that because I didn't book with themy directly I would have to petition that refund with Snaptravel. So then I asked them if they could give me a written statement( just like the snaptravel website asks to do) stating that they would reimburse me for the one night, and they reluctantly did. Did I get reimbursed by Snaptravel?- NO Lesson of the story: Don't stay at this hotel. It's not worth the money. Another tip: The amenities are most of the time either not available, not working, there's not an attendant, etc. So don't book a hotel because of the amenities they offer. If you're looking for something in particular,do it separately.

We had most of the upstairs space available for the kids including a large and airy ballroom, and adjacent rooms with spectacular views of the bay where we could sit outside on a balcony. There was food offered for the kids including veggie crudites, mini pizzas, chicken fingers and a huge array of desserts (churros, cookies, brownies, etc.) The space is large and inviting, and tropical in theme. Very on brand for San Diego and it feels like you are on vacation when you enter this space. Some of the decor seems dated and was giving "Golden Girls vibes", but because the location and everything else is solid, it does not really take away from the overall experience. The service, from the bartenders who were making mocktails for everyone to the servers who were keeping the food restocked and clearing away used dishes, was very attentive and present. They were cool, calm, and collected in the midst of kids doing very "kids" type things... hacky sack in the hallway anyone? There were several managers present throughout our Prom as well. They were attentive, and helpful. The kids seemed to have a great time, and so did the adults. The hotel itself is in a vibrant and very exciting location. You're on the bay, and across the street is the ocean. There are plenty of eateries and activities within walking distance, and this is the perfect location for a beachy stay or function.
