HOTEL: A+++. It exceeded our expectations. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff is responsive and friendly. We used a WhatsApp number when we needed assistance and the hotel staff responds immediately. It was a pleasure to deal with all staff! The views are outstanding! The pool is immaculate and the water's temperature was perfect. SPA: A+++ Nicely decorated and good massage therapists. RESTAURANT: A+++ Salvia Blanca has excellent food, service & atmosphere. OUR CABIN: A+++ Very clean & comfortable. We enjoyed the nice firepit just outside our cabin. I have four suggestions: 1. Provide better quality towels in the bathroom. Our towels needed replacement as they were non-absorbent; 2. The beds have a thin comforter, but at night it gets cold and a heavy comforter would be better; 3. Provide kitchen towels (paper and cloth); and 4. Put plastic bags in the kitchen's trash container. read more

I have nothing but positive things to say about hotel Contemplacion. I booked this hotel online and it was seamless. They have a WhatsApp number that they are great at communicating with. The hotel recommended a private driver for the weekend, and he was wonderful! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and there's a lot to do for families or a romantic weekend away. I was here last September '24 and truly enjoyed my stay. We had a two bedroom two bath cabin with a kitchen and sitting area. The place was clean comfortable and the staff were always so nice. They have a spa and had a great massage. I only had breakfast at their restaurant and it was good. I highly recommend this place. read more

This hotel was above and beyond from all aspects! The place itself is gorgeous with phenomenal customer service! We woke up at 5 am every morning to take in the beautiful sunrises from our room. The private fire pits are a huge bonus for evening relaxation. The restaurant at the hotel has delicious food and such well crafted cocktails! I fell in love with their pan dulce for the mornings. The only reason I couldn't give it the full 5 stars is because we noticed the bathrobes had not been replaced and the coffee mug that I got one day wasn't the cleanest. We did not know what really to expect, although I had read all the reviews carefully for at least 10 places in the Valle de Guadalupe. So happy we landed on Contemplación! We want to commend Paco, the owner, for his attention to every detail in the design of the cabañas, each of which has a glorious view of the valley and mountains. And the pool has the most beautiful siting of all. The restaurant (and its wonderful staff) were a joy--we enjoyed the very good breakfast every day (included with the room) and a few other meals as well. It's nice to have a truly indoor restaurant when it is chilly or too hot--all delivered through the solar panels at the site. We wished the jacuzzi was a little warmer in the chilly winter, but the deep pool is excellent for some quick laps. We hope to return. read more

Wow!!! First time in Valle and Contemplación guaranteed an amazing experience. I was a little nervous about coming to Mexico but There was minimal worry as long as you are cautious. The drive from Tijuana border to Valle was easy. Finding hotel using google maps easy- with a bit off roading. Contemplación gave us the most unique experience we could ever have in states. I have been to Napa, Temecula and Paso Robles and nothing compares. You get a unique campo experience with five star restaurants and wine. The hotel and service are five star. The room has you feeling like you are camping in a vineyard. We called reception at night for help and they came right away. The grounds are amazing and enjoyed my daily walks. The fire pits at night are the cherry on top. Enjoying a last minute drink with friends in a vineyard under the stars. I would highly recommend and would love to return. read more

This review is primarily for the restaurant Savila Blanca at the Hotel Contemplación. The restaurant is located in the main building of the hotel, which consists of various cottages scattered on the hillside once you enter the hotel grounds. The restaurant has a modern feel with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The restaurant offers a limited menu of local Baja med fare, including chamorro (pork shank), roasted marrow bones, jaiba (crab) burritos, and some assorted tacos. There is also a cheese platter, although their wine selection is limited. Everything is somewhat pricey ($15+), but the food was well prepared with fresh ingredients. The real star in my opinion are the craft beers they offer, prepared in house and infused with local fruits and herbs. The sage one is particularly good. As for the hotel itself, I did not stay here but according to staff it has a dynamic pricing structure with the cottages costing up to $500 per night. A staff member showed our party one of the loft-type cottages and they are spartanly decorated but have floor to ceiling views of the surrounding countryside. The bathrooms were elegant, with standalone tub and rainfall showers. The loft cottage had a king size bed on the top level and bunk beds on the lower level. There is no TV but the room had a projector setup to connect to your laptop for Netflix, etc. The hotel is definitely designed with retreat and solace in mind, but whether that's worth $500 a night seems unlikely, as there is nothing to do on the grounds and there are better and more luxurious hotels in the area for a lesser price. Stayed here for 2 nights in the 1 bedroom suite. The room had a living room, kitchenette, large bathroom, bedroom and 2 large decks with views of the valley. Check in was quick and the staff was amazing. The food at the restaurant was the best we've had in the area. You can get to most wineries and restaurants within 10-15 minutes. The Contemplacion was a comfortable and stylish base for our wine country ramblings. A good, complementary breakfast fortified us, and there are gardens to stroll as well as a pool. Views are amazing! The staff was Covid-conscious and super friendly. Complimentary breakfast was amazing. There's a dirt road to get into Contemplacion and even with GPS we missed it. I docked 1 star because if it's a boutique and paying high dollars for 1 stay then I feel like the towels should be of better quality. They were on the rough side and it wasn't because of lack of fabric softener. Other than that, I would highly recommend. read more

Let me start by saying that I really really was hoping to give these lovely people a 5star review after night one I was sure that would be the case. The accommodations are lovely the staff is friendly and the location is charming. BUT... they are very new and under construction still. Day two the restaurant took over 60 minutes to get our breakfast to our table and it was eggs and pancakes. The second night the staff let a certain group of guests make a ton of noise at the fire pit and kept the resorts music on until almost 2 am when I finally threw I. A robe and marched down to the restaurant to beg them to turn it off! They were very apologetic. I think they are just experiencing a learning curve and will get better and better! I would give them a second chance next year. read more

We travel constantly, and I have to say the upgraded room is one of our favorite places we have ever stayed... The area is up-and-coming, so there are a lot of gravel roads, but there is amazing food nearby such a Deckmans, which is very expensive, but well worth it and la cocina de doña Estella, which has been voted the best breakfast restaurant in the entire world... If you want to try out the restaurant, make sure you're there before 8 o'clock otherwise there will be about a mile of cars waiting... But back to the hotel, it was perfect in every way... Very romantic. The only negative is there are not very many food choices locally as Guadalupe valley is in a somewhat remote location, but that adds to the charm and does not take away anything from the experience... You just need to plan ahead and bring groceries to cook whatever you want to eat when you don't wanna go out... For the price, this place is well worth it, you won't regret it. read more

Everything about this place is a lie. Starting with all the fake 5 star reviews made a month ago when this hotel wasn't even open. There is no local breakfast, as pictures show, only fruit and yogurt. The owner put the cheapest queen beds in every room and the whole room shakes when you walk around. Like it's about to fall over. The host told us we could not use toilet paper in the toilet and there was a trash can that we had to use. It was never emptied during our 2 day stay. The rooms are located at the top of a steep dirt road which I challenge anyone to drive up in a normal car. My lifted 4 x 4 had a hart time. When problems arose the management was unpleasant and rude. Clearly they have a thing or two to learn about hospitality. I do not recommend this place as they will not treat you properly and the owner Paco and his daughter on the property have no say at the end of the day, just some jerk called Anthony in Chula Vista who should go back to washing cars. read more

Beautiful compound and dog friendly. The pool, hot tub, and work out room are all great. If you want to go in the hot tub make sure you tell the front desk hours before so they can turn it on. We were not told on arrival but a friendly guest told us. Food is great and so is staff. read more

While the pictures look nice, this is unfortunately a DISHONEST business and you can do much better booking elsewhere in the Valle. My wife and I booked online and stayed at Contemplacion. At check-in they made an additional $40 charge for the "warranty" - this is not like most hotels who just place a card on file for incidentals. Contemplacion actually charges it and then THEY KEEP IT. Upon check-out they said the charge would be refunded within a day. I watched my CC statement and no refund, so after 1 week I emailed them...no response. I emailed again (now 10 days later) to all the email addresses I could find on their website, someone briefly replied to say they don't know what happened, they'll look into it and get back to me...no response for another week...so I email again, still no response...ultimately it had been a month since our check-out date when I emailed AGAIN demanding a refund... FINALLY I get a response which says that they: looked into it and the room was missing 2 pillows so they kept my warranty, they are "confident" in their decision and that's that. I have no way to refute their absolutely ABSURD claim. If there really were pillows missing they could have contacted me right away, my wife and I were still on the property after check-out, but there never were any missing pillows, just a weak method of collecting an additional $40 from us. I have no doubt they just assumed I would forget about the charge and not think twice about checking for a refund. I encourage everyone who has ever stayed here to check your CC statement and confirm that your "warranty" was refunded. Here's my SUMMARY: They have a hip looking place with a nice view, but because there is no hot water (lukewarm at best even after letting it run...), weak water pressure, and a bad septic system (doesn't allow you to flush toilet paper and smells funky), they are not getting as many customers as they like so they employ dishonest methods for increasing revenue. If they wanted an extra $40 just charge more for the room, don't be dishonest (strike 1), uncommunicative (strike 2), and then make up stories about missing pillows (strike 3). Bad service and bad business practices. Valle de Quadalupe is a beautiful place, so don't let your experience be ruined by staying here. There are MANY other options in the Valle, go support an honest business. read more

Our stay was horrible. I would not recommend to anyone. To start they are still very under construction, 7am hammering/jackhammering construction noise. That is followed by workers walking right in front of your huge glass windows. Oh hello thanks for sharing this peaceful moment of waking with me... awkward. Later in the day the workers will crawl under your casita to find a shady place to have a nap or just go to the bathroom and leave it in a bucket... ewww. Then they will "clean" your room aka make the bed, take all the robes and towels and only replace a couple. (No emptying trash bins, cleaning up dirty dishes or the coffee machine you might have used). Their "breakfast" is brown cut apples, yogurt cups and granola. All prepared in an outdoor kitchen with drywall work being done right next to the food. If you have problems at night tough luck, maybe you can find someone if you walk around aimlessly. Don't believe a word the owner says in regards to any compensation because he has no financial say and the property manager in USA will call and negate anything he has said and will likely accuse you of stealing as he did to us. Poor experience, treatment and with so many other places in the valley pay more and stay somewhere that cares about customer service. read more

My husband and I visited this property for our anniversary weekend August 17th- 18th. The property is still under construction but it doesn't take away from the wonderful experience we had. The room feels clean, the view is breathtaking, and you even have your very own personal porch which allows you to witness the beautiful sunset! Chef Israel is amazing!!! We highly recommend their delicious octopus quesadilla. All the staff was friendly and we even met the owners. They stopped by our table at the restaurant, introduced themselves and chatted with us for a bit. I will say the hotel is located away from the main road and the roads to get their are unpaved. We drive a Honda Accord with low profile tires and had no issues getting in and out of the property. If your looking for a romantic and quiet getaway away, visit Contemplacion! You will not be disappointed!! read more
