My college barkada needed a break from Manila. So, we planned a weekend getaway to Tagaytay and they highly recommended Hotel Dominique. It was a bit pricey compared to the other hotels in Tagaytay. However, the rooms are spacious and the privacy was worth it. The hotel looks small from the main road. The surprise is that there is a big complex behind the facade. There is a main hotel for the standard rooms, the casitas, the cabanas, and there is also a pool. Perfect for a vacation or mini-getaway for big groups.
We booked a Casita room with an attic. The BIG plus for booking this room is that the attic has its own shower; the lower level has a bath tub and shower. Also, the upper and lower levels each had their own televisions. Beds are quite comfortable and the linens were clean. Complimentary bottled water, toothbrush sets, liquid soap and shampoo (placed in a dispenser) are included with the room. We were 6 people and we had more than enough space to move around.
It was unfortunate that, during our stay, there was a typhoon. So, we were stuck in the room most of the day. This is where we noticed the some of the downsides of the room. One, the room had poor lighting; the room became darker and gloomier due to the rain. Two, the rooms are not sound proof. So, we heard the guests next door talking all night long (even with the rains outside).
All in all, the hotel was relaxing and I was glad that it wasn't crowded. My friends and I will definitely come back the next time we have a getaway to Tagaytay. :) read more
