Make reservations before you go and get there before 11pm, as the lobby, check in area is only staffed until that time when there are no reservations scheduled. By the way, check in is at 3pm and checkout is at noon. We loved this hotel, as it is quiet and very relaxing.

The property itself is older, but don't let that deter you. The rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made for a very relaxing stay. I loved the balcony and watching the ocean from so close! Beautiful sunrise too. Check-in is more laid-back, so don't expect a traditional front desk experience with someone always present. That said, the communication was excellent. I really appreciated that they reached out via text ahead of time to ask about my arrival--it was a thoughtful touch. I arrived earlier than the standard check-in time (as I had mentioned), and there were no issues at all. When I rang the bell, a staff member promptly came out to assist me and greeted me with a warm smile. There's also a very popular restaurant and bar on-site with an amazing-looking menu. Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to try it this time, but it's definitely on the list for our next visit. The location is another big plus--easy to find, right on the beach, and conveniently close to a Walgreens and other nearby beaches to explore. As always, I conducted a bunch of research, some say too much but they always ask me to find things for them... The name for the Hacienda Tamarindo is derived from Tamarindo trees on the property. If you go to Vieques there is a ferry they run all day. Ticket was two dollars. Vieques is a nature preserve so expect to see horses everywhere on the island. Oh yeah, roosters too. You need a rental car on the island. Well, at least I would recommend one and am glad I had one. There is no way to see the beaches without a vehicle. Hacienda Tamarindo will reserve your rental for you if you ask. Be aware that you may not want to arrive on the island before the rental company opens. If I'm ever on Vieques I will stay at the Hacienda Tamarindo.

When we woke up they had it ready to go in a cooler for us - breakfast is included, it not a buffet either, it's a nice sit down breakfast and they serve you - the pool is open 24/7. It has a cute fountain and again great views of the beach - each room comes with a hard side cooler you can take to the beach. - there is an honor bar where you can make your own drinks - you can rent snorkeling gear, beach chairs and umbrellas from them.

A little upset that I tried it on my last visiting day because I should've been eating here everyday from the start! That's how great it is. I believe I ordered the shank! It looked too good to eat haha. Very juicy and tender. The rice and beans had a delicious flavor. The hotel in itself is very unique and remarkable in itself. It truly feels local to the island and its history. The architecture is breathtaking. I specifically enjoyed the rooftop with optional seating and a jacuzzi/pool. I enjoyed that there were too many people in the hotel during my stay which allowed my visit to be more intimate with the locals/area and the intricate designs the hotel offered. It was also a plus that coffee and tea was offered in the morning. I was especially happy with the oat milk option.

When I arrived I was checked in and given a tour of the attractive property by the staff member on duty. My room was spacious and comfortable along with the bathroom that had a shower in it. The ac worked well too. The TV was a smaller screen that I think was less than 32" and was mounted high up on the wall so TV watching could be better. The room had a small refrigerator in it. Shortly after checking in I received a series of text messages from the owner regarding information about Isabel II such as restaurants nearby, grocery stores, taxi info, tour companies, etc, which was helpful. Bravo Beach is well maintained with 2 freshwater pools and less than 20 rooms all with outdoor facing entrances. It is located directly on the water with a beach but swimming is not allowed or desired from the shell beach however the beach is available for walking. The hotel does offer the free use of beach supplies like coolers and folding chairs, etc. if you need them. They do have their own small parking lot and more parking next to the hotel but I'm not sure they have enough parking if all of their rooms are full. The hotel is located about a 6-7 minute walk from the ferry terminal. If I returned to Vieques I would be happy to stay at Bravo Beach Hotel again.

Three-star quality at five-star prices…read more Be sure to read the fine print when making a reservation. This hotel runs a "20% hotel tariff" scam that gets tacked onto the bill. The only logical explanation is that this policy makes the room prices appear to cost about $200 a night less than the real charges. Otherwise, why not just raise the advertised price by 20%? There is no doubt the property is in a gorgeous location, sitting directly on the ocean. The buildings are in good condition and the staff is courteous. But, I experienced several shortfalls compared to my expectations for this price point. The suites are provided a "butler," but the available hours are 10am to 6pm. The service would be more accurately described as a concierge. Bringing coffee in the morning is not on the list of duties, nor assisting with unpacking or packing or other typical butler activities. Sending out laundry the day before my departure, I asked to have it folded so it would be easier to pack. Everything came back on hangers. My room did not receive turn-down service and fresh towels during the third night of my stay. I asked to have a car booked to the airport from the hotel. The butler got it backwards and booked it from the airport to the hotel. Good thing that I took a close look at the confirmation and noticed the routing was backwards. The breakfast restaurant, Ola, is extremely crowded in the morning with a 30 to 60 minute wait being typical in my experience. The front of the property is in a skeevy neighborhood so walking somewhere else for breakfast isn't a realistic option. It's not bad, but also not a top tier. property.
