I am so sad to be writing this review because it means I've left this hotel. This was my first solo adventure in a new place and I had extensively researched Dream Inn before I booked, so I knew I would love it. They have an amazing and coveted 5-star-rating on TripAdvisor, and I chose them based on a variety of factors including cleanliness reviews, safe and secure location easily accessible by Uber and close to the airport and convenient to areas I'd be traversing the most, their website says they have a generator and water cistern just in case any funny business outages occur in the city, and overall AWESOME VIBES. This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Jorge was the main front desk person on deck during my 4-night stay and he was super cool, friendly, and SO helpful. The hot water heater is apparently solar-powered? I had no reason to be nervous though; I took a shower every night and the water was HOT, plentiful, great pressure, and didn't even start to get cool while I was in there (and I'm known for my longer showers). The entire atmosphere of the hotel is so zen and peaceful. The room doors do need to be "jammed" (?) shut, so you can hear when others are forcefully closing their doors, but this didn't bother me much. Every time I went up to the rooftop patio to eat a meal, or relax in a hammock, it was empty and perfect for alone time. At some points I wondered if I was the only guest at the time, it was so rare that I saw anyone else. I was in the Sunlit Room on the 3rd floor, which is the perfect size, and whoever was here before me had the TV channel set to Boomerang. I didn't even THINK I'd be watching TV while I was here, but every night I fell asleep to Tom and Jerry. The rooms do NOT have personal microwaves, but there's one downstairs in the bright and airy lobby, and I loved perching on one of the stools down there to have some lunch or wait for my Uber to arrive. Also, the minibar prices for water and soft drinks are probably CHEAPER than the local Walgreens I NEVER went to anyway, so there's no reason not to utilize them. I truly loved coming back to this home-away-from-home at the end of my day, and the quant, quiet, cozy feel of it all. If I ever stay in the San Juan area again, Dream Inn is my #1 choice.

We spent two nights at the Dream Inn in San Juan before embarking on a Caribbean cruise at the end of January 2023 - and highly recommend it. Minu (?) and her staff were remarkably helpful, and attentive to our every need. Her dining recommendations were spot on, and some even offered discounts if you told them you were staying at Dream Inn. About 3 blocks to the beach, beautiful roof sunning area, and in case you forget anything, a 24-hour Walgreens within two blocks. We would recommend getting a room on the side away from the street, as there were several instances of folks having a good time at night, but it wasn't a deal-breaker, so we chose to embrace it. A full 5-star recommendation!

I booked this place for a pre stay before my cruise. It was a recommended nice boutique place in the heart of San Juan. I attempted to get the room early but was not able to. They did keep the bags so that was a good deal. On arrival we had a quick check in. They offered us tea and showed us around the hotel. The place was very secure. It had a key to get into the front and key to get out. The lobby was really interesting and welcoming. The room was small and quaint. It had a TV and coffee maker. There was even wine if you wished to pay for it. The wine opener was not so good. I purchased my own wine and had to request an opener. The place was clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly. They recommended restaurants in the area and other locations. I would definitely stay at this location again.

Location is perfect! Close to lots of good restaurants, a 10 minute drive from Old San Juan and a 5 minute walk from a great beach. They provide you beach towels, mats and coolers to head out to the beach. Besides the location, the rooftop was probably our favorite part of staying here. There are two hammocks and tables with a view of the city, it's a great place to bring back food and eat. The rooms are clean but not impressive beyond that. Definitely recommend if you're on a budget or solo traveling!

a nice budget hotel in PR, walkable to the beach and about a 10 min drive from SJU airport. it's nothing fancy, but the staff is super kind and knowledgable about the area. they even have sunscreen and beach chairs in the lobby that guests can use for free.

Very cute boutique hotel near SJU (about a 6-8 mins) Uber ride (approximately $8.00). Very cozy and personable room, stayed just one night. Staff is remarkable. Only con, the shower wasn't clean (opted to wait and not shower there). Restroom could use a little more light. Accommodations were suitable for our one night stay.

It's a boutique hotel which means it's smaller then your larger chain run one's. So with that you lose a lot of the amenities you're probably used to. Gym, large pool, large rooms, etc. But because it's smaller it feels more homey and personalized which pleased us very well! The property itself is nice, well maintained, and cute. It's a very relaxing environment especially the rooftop which exceeded our expectations. There's no place to eat at the hotel but so many places located nearby the selection is endless. I'd recommend La Coffetera, and Lana's Arepas. Kasalta is also located nearby but the food did not impress us and the customer service was zero so I would skip that for the coffee shop which is located next to it. An Uber ride to Old San Juan will cost about $8 - $15 depending on what time you request one which isn't bad. The staff at the hotel were so nice and friendly and that was all of them we encountered with. I left off one star just due to the room not seeming to cool properly even with the A/C working right. It seemed like one side of the room was always noticeably hotter and that was the side with the bed. Speaking of the bed it was comfortable and we slept very well on it. I'm not sure how big the rest of the rooms are but the room we were in was fine for 2 adults but definitely not any more so if you have kids I'd research some more. Next time we're in San Juan we would definitely stay here again.

The hotel pool. Small but very relaxing. They provide beach towels and mats for you, too at no extra charge.

I stayed at the Dream Inn for a week in June and would definitely stay there again! I was traveling alone and the staff makes you feel at home and gives you tons of advice (if solicited) for where to go in San Juan. Joey was the best! My room was small, but perfect for me. I paid extra for a balcony and I liked being able to watch the neighborhood activity at night and having a good spot to quickly dry my swimsuit and beach towels. The water in my shower never got warm no matter how long I waited for the solar heaters to kick in, but I never complained bc it was HOT outside so a brisk shower was no problem for me. The pool is small, but a nice spot to cool off and relax and the rooftop patio had an hammock that I ended most nights in, just listening to the ocean. The neighborhood felt safe, though I didn't venture too far on my own at night. The beach is a VERY short distance away--maybe a block or two? And my favorite restaurant from my visit to San Juan, Pirillo is right across the street. I ate there three times and everything I had (including my sangria with almonds and sesame seeds!) was incredible! There is also a tasty Mexican place across the street (with the best churros and sweetest staff ever), a great all-day bakery, Kasalta that become my go-to for breakfast and sandwiches on the go for the beach, and a Walgreens where I picked up snacks and sunscreen. The hotel is about a 15 minute uber ride (around $6) from Old San Juan and I appreciated that it was not in a touristy area and away from the major traffic that I saw in the Condado. I would definitely stay at the Dream Inn on my next trip to San Juan. It felt like home!

Zen feeling all throughout the hotel!!!

The hotel reps were absolutely amazing and helpful! Jorge and Yani made us feel like family as if we have known them forever! Very helpful in making our trip unforgettable! Almost like they were our unofficial travel agent! We can not wait to return!

Happy that I read the reviews and booked here! This hotel is person is beautiful! The hotel was clean and secure! Only 15 minutes away from the airport. The lobby is very inviting and neatly decorated. There's a small body of water with coil fish. There's a small pool and rooftop deck with amazing views. The room was small, but had everything we needed - cable, shampoo, shower gel! The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel offers discounts at some of the local eatery's.

My husband and I were here the first week of November and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Everything was clean and relaxing. They had a very cute pool area behind the building and their rooftop with hammocks had an amazing view. The moment that you arrive they greet you and give you places to eat around the area. What I loved most about this hotel was how they still use keys to open the rooms and not a key fob or key card. Our room was the perfect size for us and they had a bottle of wine and cute Hubby & Wifey pillow cases on our bed to celebrate our marriage. (Picture attached) The location of the hotel is 2/3 blocks away from the beach where it doesn't get crowded and you can easily walk down the beach. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. We will be coming back!

If your travel agent wants to book you at some moderately-rated major chain resort hotel in San Juan, ignore them. Sure, there may be the occasional advantage to staying in some of the big corporate hotels here or there, but the reality is none of them can offer you the personal service, charm and even budding friendship Dream Inn PR will, and my goodness does this place win you over. Nimu and her family will absolutely meet and exceed your expectations. This is a quality place to stay. Nimu, her son, Gautam, and staff members Joey and Bianca run Dream Inn PR with such exceptional care that you literally have nothing to worry about. They are a wealth of knowledge about San Juan, Old San Juan, and pretty much any place nearby. First timers visiting San Juan can rest assured that advice and insight flows freely from each of the staff. We were made to feel welcome immediately, and after four nights of staying here we feel like we now have extended family here, ready with arms open to embrace us. I truly enjoyed the conversations I had with Bianca and Joey the most -- two of the most charismatic and personable friends you could ever ask to meet. I was so, so impressed with each of them. Amenities and needs are met with everything from clean and fresh beach towels, beach mats, sunscreens, umbrellas, after sun care, cold and hot tea and water, vouchers for breakfast every morning at nearby Kasalta, and coupons for discounts and freebies at nearby restaurants; all are complimentary and made available generously. The cleaning staff ensure your room is neat, tidy, and clean, refreshed for you after a long day at play elsewhere. I was touched and delighted upon return from a daylong trek in Old San Juan to find a birthday spread on our bed with a bottle of wine with glasses and corkscrew plus festive decorations to welcome us back. It is this loving attention paid to guests that separates a masterful small hotel from its big-name brethren. Dream Inn evokes a tranquil, relaxed, very zen-like design; the rooftop deck has hammocks for relaxing along with beautiful views of the surrounding area. A small pool, koi pond, and intimate lobby all tie together the lower level, while spacious, non-cramped rooms with comfortable beds occupy the second and third floors in between. Dream Inn PR delivers on all fronts. To stay anywhere else is to shortchange yourself -- you deserve this kind of treatment, atmosphere, charm, and service. There's no hesitation in recommending Dream Inn PR; it's a must-experience stay.

We forgot this beautiful flower in the fridge that we found in El Yunque. So happy to see they put it to good use!

Proposed to my gf on the rooftop of this beautiful hotel during our weeklong stay in San Juan (she said yes after some initial shock). She'd kill me if I didn't at least leave a 5-star rating! But for serious, if you want to get to know Puerto Rico, this is the place to stay. Beautiful rooms, great views, and the neighborhood and dining choices are superb--truly reflects local flavor. Goes without saying that the wonderful staff goes way above and beyond to accommodate you. Parking was a bit of a concern for me, but we did not have trouble. On Friday night when they were more booked, we had to park down the street and it was just fine. Cannot speak enough about our memorable trip of a lifetime and it would not have been possible without the kind people at Dream Inn.

The only logical explanation is that this policy makes the room prices appear to cost about $200 a night less than the real charges. Otherwise, why not just raise the advertised price by 20%? There is no doubt the property is in a gorgeous location, sitting directly on the ocean. The buildings are in good condition and the staff is courteous. But, I experienced several shortfalls compared to my expectations for this price point. The suites are provided a "butler," but the available hours are 10am to 6pm. The service would be more accurately described as a concierge. Bringing coffee in the morning is not on the list of duties, nor assisting with unpacking or packing or other typical butler activities. Sending out laundry the day before my departure, I asked to have it folded so it would be easier to pack. Everything came back on hangers. My room did not receive turn-down service and fresh towels during the third night of my stay. I asked to have a car booked to the airport from the hotel. Management is undoubtedly aware of the problem, yet continues to rent out infested rooms. We were switched to a different room, which was also dirty, but the damage was done. The management has since done absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. No refund, no compensation for our ruined clothes, and no apology for the immense stress. The presence of such a severe infestation implies gross negligence. Save yourself the trauma and spend your money elsewhere.

Rideshare is probably the move. Seating: Indoor bar seating plus an outdoor terrace area with ocean views. Plenty of room to relax and take your time. Vibes: You're in a touristy area so it's pretty clean. It's a polished tropical resort energy. Palm trees, ocean breeze, and people fully leaning into vacation mode. It's definitely tourist-friendly so great for lovebirds and families. FOOD / DRINKS Piña Colada (Recommend) This is the reason you come here. Just as advertised - creamy, smooth, coconut-forward, and balanced with pineapple sweetness without feeling overly sugary. The rum comes through cleanly, and the icy texture makes it refreshing. CUSTOMER SERVICE A little hiccup in the beginning but they started getting things going. TL;DR OVERALL 3.5 Stars. Solid. Selections were good, price was expected, same goes for the experience. If you desire experiencing Puerto Rico/cocktail history then go for it! However it was a bit touristy for me and I'm curious about the other spot. Aside from that if you're busy with family and this happens to be convenient for y'all, be sure to check it out! TIPS * The other home of the Pina Colada is the Barrachina Restaurant!

It was perfect. It was like that last year...ok no steel drums and way more corporate. Now when the sun goes down outdoors is basically off limits. Walk on the beach, nope. Sit along the shore, nope. So it's a lovely resort but this totally undermines the beauty of it. Might as well stay in old San Juan.

We stayed at the AC Hotel Condado in San Juan from Saturday, April 25 to Saturday, May 2. As…read moreMarriott Rewards members, we wanted to stay at a Marriott property, and we also wanted to be close to Isla Verde, where I stayed the last time I was in San Juan. We considered the San Juan Marriott Resort and the Courtyard by Marriott, but we felt the AC Hotel was in a better location for us. After visiting all three major Marriott properties during our trip, the AC is the quietest. If that is important to you, then it is worth considering. It was important to us, and we were happy that it was not overrun with guests, especially in the rooftop pool area. When our car service dropped us off around 10:00 p.m., there was no wait to check in. We walked straight to the front desk and got our room keys. The front desk staff were very friendly throughout our entire stay, and we appreciated that. When we checked in, I was a little surprised by the mandatory 45 dollar daily resort credit, called a destination fee, that was added to our bill each day. We were required to pay it, then spend it in the hotel at various locations, breakfast excluded. If we did not use the credit each day, it was lost. We felt this was an unnecessary burden, which limited our ability to support local businesses and reduced our options. Our room on the eighth floor was very spacious, and it had a living room, a bedroom, and a balcony with chairs. The room was great, but the thermostat had strict limits, so we were never able to adjust the air conditioning to our preferred temperature. It always felt warm in the room, which I assume was due to energy conservation controls. We had a partial ocean view, which was better than most partial views I have had at other hotels. The view was great for photos and videos, especially during sunset. You could also hear the waves crashing on the beach, even though the hotel is not located directly on the water. There are a lot of roosters roaming around the area near the property, so we got the unofficial 5:00 a.m. wake-up call from them. It was a little disruptive at first, but after a day or two, we were able to tune them out. I want to give a sincere shout out to the housekeeping service. It was outstanding. Every day, our housekeeper came before noon and left the room looking like we had just checked in. It was some of the best housekeeping I have experienced at a Marriott property, and it really added to our stay. We tipped well, because they truly deserved it. The rooftop pool was another highlight. It was usually busy, but never overwhelming. We went several times, and we always found a chair or a couch to relax on. The staff at the food and beverage counter were friendly and efficient, but there were no poolside servers. Most mornings, we ate breakfast at Sobao, which is located at the front of the hotel, and you enter from outside. The food was delicious, and the dining room was always full and lively. The service was great, but they have two different lines depending on what you want to order, which was a little confusing. Unfortunately, we did have one experience that was disappointing. On Thursday, April 30, we tried to have dinner at La Bodeguita, the main on site restaurant. It was 8:30 p.m., and even though there were open tables, we were told we had to sit at the bar. The bartender gave us water and menus, then never returned to take our order. We saw him waiting on tables, checking his phone, and standing around, but he never came back. We were dressed for fine dining, so we didn't understand what the issue was. After almost twenty minutes, we left and went up to the rooftop restaurant, Bar C Lona. It was crowded, and there was only one bartender serving everyone, but she was friendly and working hard. The food was great, and we were glad the evening turned around after the issue at La Bodeguita. Overall, we were incredibly happy with the location of the hotel, the room layout, the housekeeping, the front desk staff, the rooftop pool, and Sobao. We were less happy with the poor service at La Bodeguita, the mandatory destination fee, the rooster wake up calls, and the thermostat restrictions. We would not rule out another stay at the AC Hotel Condado, because the pros outweighed the cons, but next time we will probably try either the San Juan Marriott Resort or the Courtyard by Marriott Miramar, mainly for their direct beach access. This review is meant to provide honest feedback about our experience, both to help future guests and to highlight areas where the hotel could improve.

If I can reverse back time and choose another hotel I would. I had valid reasons to be pissed and…read morethe manager and staff agreed I booked the reservation through a military website (American Forces Travel, partnered with Priceline). I get to the hotel, some new girl named Marselles said she couldn't see my purchase and without my knowledge charged a card on file for the reservation again (I didn't notice this until I went upstairs). I immediately return to the lobby because I noticed I was charged twice and ALSO the room they initially assigned me smelled of mold and was never cleaned (juice stains everywhere and random hair pieces in the sink.) when I complained about the smelled Marceles stated the smell was common throughout the island. When I spoke to her in Spanish and said "no the fuck it's not.". She quickly got quiet because she assumed I was a first time tourist or something. But also who says that? I asked to have a manager escort me to the new room so that we can observe the cleanliness together. The manager apologized. I then asked about the duplicate charge and she promised to refund the money and repeatedly apologized, offering that Marselles was new and still needed training. Okay, whatever. I was only staying for one night. It doesn't end there. The next morning at around 8am, the cleaner knocks on the door like she was police and asked about cleaning. I said it was too early and that my checkout was later on in the day. She had attitude. The worst part about this is that the cleaners were blasting music up and down the hallways and when I showed the manager the video, she seemed shocked. But everything was " we never do this. This is the first time"...whatever. They had a nice bar on the rooftop but it was blasting cold air on a rainy night. It felt like an icebox. Bartender nice. She made nice mint juleps but the "Jack Daniels" bottle was filled with a different type of whiskey because it did NOT taste the same. I promise you. They didn't even acknowledge or include my Marriott Bonvoy membership. Because of the chaotic mess, the manager said she would waive the incidental and hotel fees and guess what, I was still charged that. I called Marriott so quickly and filed a report. Worst Marriott stay ever. Now I have to go through corporate to get a refund by sending emails and waiting on investigation to start. The room for one night was over $500. They charged me twice resulting in over $1000 for a hot mess of a stay.
