This is not your typical Best Western. Best western signature hotels, are "boutique" hotels, that offer a. Unique, local, charm of their own, at mid range prices, yet they still have to meet the standards to be a Best Western. The people who run the hotel are off - property, yet they are very easy to reach in case you need to. You do all of the paperwork ahead of time, and then when you check in, there is a keypad where you enter your information, and a door to a little box pops up that has your key. You do the Reverse to check out. This is a very nice little hotel. At first glance, you might not even realize it's a hotel. Maybe a dorm or apartments? . Very charming. I got my key, and I was very pleased with the room. The room and the bathroom were spotless, the TV got a good picture and a good number of channels. there was a fridge, but no microwave, there were plenty of places to charge my gear and the Wi-Fi had more than enough speed to stream video or do work. There's also a desk that you can eat/work at. The bed was extremely comfortable. There is no breakfast available at the hotel, , but the little Turkish café, Cafe Manzara right next door is fantastic. Great food, at decent prices. (see separate review...). My father stayed here while he was in town for a family graduation. The room was tidy and while it took a minute to figure out the key cafe, it worked just fine. The room was neat and clean and the bathroom was spacious with a cute barn door. There are EV charging stations onsite and an awesome cafe right next door for Turkish coffee and delicious food (Cafe Manzara). The TV had a multitude of channels and streaming services. The owner could not have been any nicer! My dad was very happy with the accommodations and had a great nights sleep during a very busy weekend. My family stayed at the Hotel on Monroe while on a visit to colleges in the Rochester area. The owners have done a nice update to an old motor lodge. The room was clean, modern and in impeccable condition even if a bit small. We stayed for several nights and housekeeping was taken care of every day as well. One thing that would have improved the experience is if the lobby was staffed. While the management team was responsive the fully remote status did leave a bit to be desired. This hotel is well located near the expressways with shopping and dining also nearby. The price was very fair as well. If someone is looking for a quality place to stay and does not need the amenities of a large hotel The Hotel on Monroe is a fine choice. read more

We stayed for a couple nights over Christmas while visiting family in town and it was a perfectly pleasant stay. The owners are a kind young couple who made us feel very welcome. Rooms are nicely updated. I especially liked the bathroom, which had high quality toiletries. We absolutely plan to stay here again in the future. read more

The shower design resulted in water pouring into the bath room, ac wasn't working properly, housekeepers late, and bathroom door barn door design not working properly which allowed for zero bathroom privacy. And throughout stay they asked for feedback - none of which was followed up on. Not nearly worth the $. read more

Not quite sure what all the bad reviews are for. Needed somewhere to stay for a couple nights while we got the floors worked on for our house, and I didn't want to break the bank. Found this place for only $45/night. It looked okay online. Looked much better than staying at that drug and prostitute place near the airport for the same cost. Showed up, and it was a standard motel. Not unlike places I've stayed at in cities like NYC, San Diego, Miami, NOLA, etc - which are usually $200 more a night for the same size and amenities. Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Shower worked. Had towels and a fridge and a Keurig. TV and heat worked. Desk dude was friendly. For $45/night, this place did its job. It was also in a good location near other stuff. Yes, the place is minimal frills. You get what you pay for. Not sure what all these other reviewers were expecting for the price. If I ever need another local place to stay in a pinch, I'd def be back. read more

Amazing service! The stay was clean and comfortable. Location is pretty cool, it's a 6min walk from Avvino (an amazing restaurant), tons of local nature, and close to shops. The attention to detail is wonderful; the bedding is comfortable, the decor is cozy and modern, and the shower gel smells great. The hotel is fairly new and is still under construction and development so I don't know if they will be adding a mini fridge to store drinks and food in and hanging racks for towels and washcloths on soon. read more

Worst Western. This was supposed to be an upscale boutique Best Western property and instead, turned into a nightmare. I was driving cross-country with my dog and we had just completed a 10-hr drive to find a desolate motel that had had a face-lift. I was informed prior to arriving that they had a remote key-access and I was texted the code. I noticed the lobby was empty and could see a monitor that showed various camera surveillance screens. Getting to my room, I immediately noticed there was no refrigerator, coffee/tea station or microwave - unlike all the BWs I have stayed at. I needed a refrigerator for perishables and my dog's insulin - so I called the number on the door and left a voicemail. At this point, I walked around the entire building to look for an ice machine or anything to tie us over, but none to be found. However, I could see into all the other rooms and some had refrigerators and microwaves. I called the number again, and was told to be patient and I would get a refrigerator, but no cooking was allowed in the rooms (but what about the microwaves???). I waited over an hour, even went to get greasy Chinese food since I couldn't heat up my leftovers - still no one came. So I called again and no on answered. I had to call customer service and asked to change to the other BW property that was 3.5 miles away, but was told that would not be possible at that time and they were able to contact the manager, who then shows up 5 minutes later with no apologies and the tiniest refrigerator ever. The beds were terribly uncomfortable, but I was so tired I didn't care. I thought maybe I would see a human in the morning with breakfast to talk to, but again, no one on the property. The "light continental breakfast" was a joke, but this was a minor complaint. Summary: They claim to be trying a "contactless" approach, but it is neither practical nor acceptable that they do not have what they advertise at minimum. If I was a nursing mother with breast milk, this would have been utterly unacceptable. I complained to corporate about my experience, and they would not provide a refund or any compensation for my horrible experience and to "look for other avenues" instead, yet failed to tell me what other avenues I had other than to resort to leaving a review so others can learn and avoid my experience. On the surface, it looks like a nice place. However, "buyer beware" and I would not ever stay at another Signature Collections again based on this experience. Stick with the standard BW Plus! BTW, not sure how someone got $45/night. I paid $245 for the worst night ever on my trip!!! read more

This is one of the worst places we have ever stayed. We needed last minute accommodations and this place was close by. We paid a steep $96 and the room was so disgusting I had concerns about walking around barefoot. The dimly lit room smelled and the AC unit was very loud, making sleep difficult. I was woken up in the middle of the night by someone loudly banging on a door. The tiny bathroom was a total disaster, and I almost wanted to skip my morning shower. There was mold inbetween the tiles, and clearly the shower had years of hack job repairs done. After we got locked out of our apartment and couldn't find a locksmith my girlfriend and I knew we needed to find a place to stay. A quick google search led us to the hotel on Monroe. We arrived at around 2 o clock in the morning and after reading the sign on the front door saying we needed a reservation we had thought it was a lost cause. Called anyways and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating, they let us into a room without a reservation within minutes and Asked us to enjoy our stay. The room and bathroom were incredibly clean, the bed was very comfortable and overall it was an amazing stay. We almost wanted to stay another night. All I would say is to call before arriving to make a reservation. 10/10 read more

This was supposed to be a no-frill stop on our way from Michigan to the East coast. And no-frill it was. This is a pretty old motel, and it showed in the room, especially the bath room, but everything was clean. We arrived at around midnight, later than planned, but I had specified "Will arrive in evening" at the online booking. When I got there to check in though the old guy behind the counter complained about waiting and waiting for us and told us next time we would be this late we should call. I guess I don't think of hotels/motels without 24/7 front desk service, but they do still exist. The room amenities were abundant: microwave, fridge, hair dryer, free wifi, coffeemaker, etc. I found out in the morning though that they forgot to refill the coffee, so it was useless to me. If you're looking for just a place to stay en route to somewhere else, this is pretty OK for a good price. I wouldn't want to use this motel for a multiple night stay though. read more

I booked one night online and didn't realize it wasn't a traditional hotel. You do enter your room from the outside. I checked in 2/29 and out on 3/1/2020. The gentleman who checked me in was very friendly and we had a pleasant conversation. The place is newly remodeled and is VERY clean! Snacks, coffee, soft drinks are available in the office area. My room was great, bathroom nice, lots of lights and usb ports. They provide in-shower toiletries. Bed and pillows really comfy. I had a personal mishap in the room which made a bit of a mess and the woman who checked me out was also very friendly, very understanding and they didn't charge me any additional cleaning/damage fees though I did offer to pay additional for it. I am not from Rochester so I cannot speak too well as to its close proximity to bars, restaurants, or other activities. I took an Uber back-and-forth to the birthday party that I was attending and it seemed pretty residential with some plazas that may have restaurants. read more

I try to be as low-key as possible when I am traveling. When I go to a motel or a hotel I only ask for one basics that it be clean, and everything work. When I try to use the bathroom, anytime I would turn the light on it would flicker and turn off. I want to the front desk to ask them about it, and the man seemed a bit irritated and said that to just push the switch up and it would work. We switch had to be held up at all times. This made going to the bathroom or taking a shower a bit impossible as I do not have extremely extendable arms. I found the railings on the second floor are far too low and that someone could easily trip over it. The two at the front desk seemed a bit pushy and I'm and reluctant to help anyone. I also found hair in the bathtub before I went to go and take my shower. A motel if you have absolutely no other choice. Found this hotel in a last minute search while traveling to Rochester for the night. Seriously the cutest hotel ever! The owner was so pleasant and professional. Room was beautiful, super comfy beds. Ok, we' ve stayed here twice the first week of November 2014 and one night January 31,2015 before we moved into our new home here in Rochester. We stayed for a week (in November) and got a group rate. I will agree with some about the "continental breakfast" don't bother. Prakash the owner was pleasant enough but it's best to call him and say hey we may be late they (Prakash and family live on site) Our bed was large and was lovely to sleep on. The hotel room was ok, clean but it sorry to say had a faint smell of spices.. curry maybe? Our place got cleaned but they we're a little slow on it but hey whatever but it got cleaned! It is on Monroe Ave and near things and the city. I had to drive my husband to his office, don't get me wrong it probably would have been closer to go to The Strathallan but it would have cost for a week at least $1,200 or more. It was expensed but we had to put out the money first. Prakash gave us a deal for a week! I came with so I can find apartments. It's not a bad place, it's clean comfortable and close enough to places to eat and etc. So it's no Strathallan I'd say this a few days max, call Prakash if your gonna be late and CHECK ALL REVIEWS. We were promised a 2 star hotel similar to Holiday Inn or Ramada by Priceline but were given this motel which is far from a clean 2-star hotel. First, you have to check in at a window where you slide your money under -- right at the parking lot, you don't even go into a lobby. The person taking the money was wearing pajamas and no shoes. The paint on the exterior is peeling, the building is filthy, there are shady characters hanging out in the parking lot, and it's certainly not family friendly. They have weekly rates for homeless people. We would urge you to find ANYPLACE else besides this hotel for a safe, clean stay. read more

When I'm traveling, particularly sans kid, I'm just looking for a clean place to sleep and take a shower. Towpath has it. I'm Old School, They're Old School. The guy at the desk was friendly and helpful (he tried to give me an orange when I said I couldn't eat the stuff at the 'continental breakfast,') which consisted of cereal, coffee and some sticky buns, but what do you want for $65 total a night? I plan on staying their again, especially if I'm around for a few days, as they have a fridge and microwave in each room. Being able to fix breakfast or re-heat some leftovers just adds to the appeal of this place. Nothing fancy, about it, but I like it. Oh, yeah. The free Wi-Fi worked great. My wife and I have traveled to all 50 states, staying in motels all over the country and this is the worst place we have ever seen. The supposed continental breakfast was awful, with not even a piece of bread available. There was no place to sit and the same overripe bananas sat in a bowl turning browner each morning, placed next to some sort of plastic-wrapped gooey sugary items. Their so called "orange juice" was an orange colored corn syrup product containing only 5% juice. We left in the morning and returned to find soap, shampoo, sheets and towels had not been replaced, which became an ongoing problem every night. The two people working there gave the same excuse day after day about their maid not showing up, but apparently couldn't be bothered to take the responsibility of the basic routine clean up themselves. There was one tiny lock on the door with no chain and the toilet kept running off and on all night. This is a disgusting place that should be avoided by anyone traveling to Rochester! read more

I stayed there for 4 days before move into my apartment. The condition of the room wasn't great. bathroom/shower room wasn't clean and the bathroom fan was not working. Bed is not too comfortable but if it is a short stop, resting reason then it should be fine. Pros: Cheaper, close to a mall and supermarket, quiet neighborhood, breakfast in the morning (juice and cereal mainly). Parking. Cons: dirty bathroom. non smoking room is next to a smoking room. Very poor service. When we arrived it was very cold out and we were not let in the building; we were left outside to talk through a teller window on the side of the building. While, who I assume was the manager, took his time looking up our reservation we stood outside for 15 minutes in the Rochester winter. He the reminded us several times that there is no smoking after we had already said that we aren't smokers. He then proceeded to add in "No drugs either."
