wow this resort ... so so sad. I have stayed at los arcos Cabos and it is nite and DAY. Cabos is by far a stellar and actually 4-star resort with quality in service, food , and views to match. I had high hopes for this resort, because i have stayed at an Arco hotel twice before but this did not hit the mark, at all. Let me compare and contrast:
First, there is NO GYM!! Only a spa that you have to pay for services which is so disappointing. A Spa is great for those who want a facial, pedicure, but i am just looking to continue my gym regimen. Even just a treadmill or stairmaster would have been enough.. just anything. (**Cabo has an amazing gym, locker room area, and juices for your workout**)
The entrance is off putting. There is no doors blocking out anyone, although there is security at the front and back of the entrances. It is open to the street (see photo) and the pool is directly next to the check in desk.
The workers here are nice and I have not had an issue with anyone! One thing about both resorts are the workers are very nice and caring!!
There are 4-5 pools. 2 regular pools with chairs poolside, 1 kiddie pool, 1 jaccuzi, 1 adult only infinity pool that looks out to the ocean and the sidewalk.
This resort is located in a prime location so there is heavy foot traffic and due to the umbrellas on the beach there is an obstructed view from the infinity pool.
There are only 2 bars which can ge packed with servers ordered upwards of 20 drinks at a time ... causing big wait times.
The only downside is that it seems they are under staffed for poolside / oceanside workers. If you are in the pool or by the water you may wait anywhere from 10-20 minutes (no exaggeration) , at times i thought they forgot about us. And by the time the drink comes it is water down, no longer cold, and liquified. (See video) It is quicker to get up and get your own drink, which defeats the purpose of the service.
*there are about 2-3 poolside workers for a large amount of guests. So maybe this is where the issue stems from.
Also it is not a quiet or relaxing location .. If you want to hear the ocean you have to be on the sand or walking down the sidewalk and away from the resort. All the AC units from other hotels , restaurants causes a loud noise. (See video)
Not to mention the workers trying to sell you something every second, I could never get more than one minute alone. Even when reading my book someone is trying to sell bracelets , massages, art work, t-shirts, braids, food, ice cream, snacks, silver, music, tourists attractions, anything..
there are even kids that interrupt your eating when you are at the resort to come and ask to buy something from them.
I have had people sell me things in Cabos but they never got on resort property & there were about 6-7 workers for the entire stretch of land, you can find some quiet space.
The food here is LARGELY disappointing. If you have the all inclusive that ONLY allows you to eat at the buffet and you can expect relatively the same dishes or a variation of them.
Breakfast: chilaquiles, beans, potatoes, yogurt bar, pan dulces, French toast/pancake station, omelette station. They do have good aguas/coffee in the morning
Lunch: seafood pasta, salad bar, fruit, tostadas, fish of some kind
Dinner: beans, rice, bread, several fish options, ribs, carne asada, salad table, chips/salsa.
Some of the food is just plain bland or too salty.. which is so disappointing especially this being the only option for those with the all inclusive. They do have 2 restaurant's on the resort but they are not included in the all inclusive. They did give us a voucher to try a restaurant, which requires a reservation 2 days in advance.
The rooms are decent. The restrooms are so small and require a step to get in them , which might be difficult for the elderly. And the showers were made of stone. The tv is small but not a huge deal.
This resort could be a great option if you get a good deal or need somewhere family friendly. I just had better expectations for an Arcos resort and I was very disappointed. read more
