The location is great for those wanting to be close to Sorrento, but in a slightly quieter location - Sant'Agnello is a few miles to the east of Sorrento. The easiest way to get to Sorrento is by train. These run about every half hour, the journey takes 3 minutes, and the hotel is 10 minutes walk from Sant'Agnello railway station. If you want your history/culture fix, trains from Sant'Agnello also run directly to Pompeii (40 minutes), Naples (70 minutes), and (with a change) to Herculaneum (about 60 minutes), If you want to stay out late in Sorrento, you can get a taxi back. (I would not recommend walking; it is a 40 minute walk, and I would normally be happy to do this, but the pavements are very narrow and the road is busy.) The hotel itself is a modern white-washed building; there is a spacious reception and lounge area, with a bar; a large dining room; and nice landscape gardens around, with a lemon grove and a swimming pool. There is a small outside bar next to the pool. Limited parking is in an underground garage (booking essential). Most of the bedrooms have balconies. There's very good free Wifi everywhere in the hotel. The rooms come in two variants; standard and superior. We had a superior bedroom, in the original hotel building, now called the "annex". The room was spacious and well equipped, although it did not have the USB points available in the main hotel. (Superior rooms main hotel also have a sofa, which we didn't have.) On the plus side, it meant our room was very quiet. We had a nice few inland from our (very private) balcony. Superior rooms come with air-conditioning, a safe, a small fridge, TV, and plenty of hanging space for clothes, but not much shelf space. The bathroom had a shower, toilet and bidet, with a hairdryer and shaving point, bathrobes, slippers, and lots of fluffy towels. These were changed every day with room service. (Bedding was also changed in the middle of the week.) Everything was spotlessly clean. The only downside in our particular room was that the shower head was too close to the ceiling, so you had to stand right under it. But there was a separate handheld spray attachment, so it wasn't a problem for us. Breakfast consisted of a buffet, and is very Italian, so the cooked options were quite limited (bacon, small sausages, and scrambled egg). There's a toast machine, with a selection of bread and rolls, hard-boiled eggs, cheese and salami. If you have a sweet tooth, you will be very well catered for, as there are lots of croissants and pastries. Staff serve tea and coffee. Evening meals consist of three courses, with an additional salad buffet. Each evening though was a choice of at least three mains, three starters and three desserts. There was always a vegetarian option, but you could also have salad. (That said, watch out if you're vegetarian, due to the Italian propensity to add ham into some of the mixed salads!) NB: Even with half board, you pay for all drinks. The food was perfect perfectly decent, but not exceptional. If you wanted the full Italian gastronomic experience, you could always eat out, as there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel also has its own pizzeria, with excellent pizzas. This is not included in the half board package, but during weekdays you can get a small discount. Staff on reception were a little bit variable - always pleasant and helpful, but one lady didn't speak particularly good English. The rest of the staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. While we were there, a couple were celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary, and the staff went out of their way to make a real fuss of them. Overall, we would be happy to stay there again. Bear in mind the Sorrento area isn't really aimed at beach holidays; the towns are on cliffs, with steep roads (but also lifts) to the black sand beaches or bathing stations below; access to either involves a fee.

The only issue really is the food. It's not great, although sometimes it is nice. It's nothing exceptional so I would recommend going out in the evenings if possible! It's in a lovely area, and the gardens are beautiful!

It's a charming boutique hotel with stunning, unbelievable views from the balcony of our room (though note, balcony privacy is limited). We were fully prepared to give a 5-star review. However, a disturbing incident on our final night completely changed our perspective and revealed a shocking lack of duty of care from the management. While returning to the hotel via the steep, dark alleyway approach (approx. 50 steps), we found two young women in clear distress. One was nearly unconscious--limp, unable to speak, with dilated eyes--while her friend, who seemed only slightly intoxicated, was struggling to help her. The friend stated they had just been drinking at the Hotel Casa Albertina rooftop bar. As my wife is a nurse, we immediately stopped to assist. Concerned for their safety on the dark steps, we made the logical decision to help the incapacitated woman back up to the hotel lobby, the very establishment that had served them, so she could sober up safely and we could arrange a secure ride home. The receptionist's reaction was appalling. He was immediately hostile, refused help, and demanded we remove her from the premises. We were not accusing anyone of anything; we were simply trying to ensure a patron's safety. The hotel's defensive and aggressive stance was telling and deeply unsettling. I ultimately had to carry this young woman down all 50 steps myself to get her and her friend into a taxi (we confirmed they got home safely). The most unbelievable part was the manager confronting and yelling at us during checkout the next morning, reiterating that we were "wrong" to bring her to the lobby. The complete lack of concern for a customer's well-being is unacceptable. I cannot stress this enough: I would caution anyone, especially women traveling alone or in small groups, to be extremely aware of their surroundings and seriously reconsider patronizing this hotel's rooftop bar. The management's priority is clearly avoiding liability over ensuring patron safety. Their vicious reaction to our good-faith attempt to help was appalling and ruined our honeymoon's final impression. In good conscience, I cannot recommend this hotel or its bar to anyone. The view is not worth the risk.

The restaurant on site is yummy, but make sure you let them know you are coming for dinner. It's pretty and there's a few other restaurants within walking distance. My daughter and I went for a walk just around the hotel and found a sign that said Roman Ruins and an arrow. We followed it and found...yep, you guessed it, Roman Ruins. But not just that, we found the most beautiful pool of clear blue ocean water and a stone arch. It was lovely and people were swimming. She's going back with her friends. The hotel also has a pool and a nice garden. The lobby is also a pleasant place to just relax. But again, it's the people that made a difference. They were just all so nice and trying so hard to make our trip perfect.

Everything was very clean and the staff was very friendly. There is no restaurant but there is a good breakfast served every morning with great cappuccinos. Also there is a restaurant next door that is great. The street they are on is really cute and has some convenient stores. There is a dry cleaners and some spots to get wine, cheese, bread and meats. We had great snacks to put in the fridge of our room. They also sell wine at the hotel. The key to your room is really big so you leave it at the front desk every time you leave. The hotel is high up on the hill which is why the views are so amazing. But it also means you have to walk about 15 minutes down the road to get to the center of town which was no big deal. If you don't want to walk there is a bus stop very close or you can have the hotel call a taxi for you but they charge a minimum of 20 euros just to take you down a rather short distance. Next time I'm in Positano I'm staying here again.

We rented a boat to take us around the island which the hotel set up and took care of everything. That was one of the highlights of the stay. They also set up our transportation to the from the deferred making our live very easy.
