I'm reviewing my pictures n think hotel Rialto should be 5 stars bc it's the only one facing the grand canal n the Rialto bridge. I had the honeymoon suite one of a kind. Jeff Bezos got married in Venice, the original hotel rented was not far from here but it was mobbed by protesters so he moved farther from here where the action was to an unknown location. The breakfast included was ayce to die for! I wish somebody told me about this hotel I stayed in Venice 7 times the 1st 6x was a waste of time booked by agents who didn't have my best interest at heart. 5 solid stars read more

Was a bit worried when I arrived and was shown to my room walking through a dingy alley behind the main hotel. But the room was beautiful! The staff was amazing my whole stay. From beginning, having a cute birthday display on my bed during my arrival, assistance to my room after I twisted my ankle, to the seamless checkout at 4am. I loved this hotel. read more

We stayed five nights at Hotel Rialto in the Junior Suite with Grand Canal view. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the room was spacious and provided amazing views of the canal and the Rialto Bridge. The hotel and room have that "Old World" Venetian charm, and that's exactly what I was looking for. Despite the "Old World" vibe, the air conditioning was stellar! Yes! Believe me, it was needed since it was during the month of August. Whew! The hotel is perfectly situated in a location close to many attractions. Saint Mark's Square is only a few minutes away. There are restaurants nearby, as well as the hotel restaurant downstairs that serves breakfast daily. It was pretty good too... consisting of coffee, juices, pastries, breads, eggs, meats, a variety of cheeses, and even pancakes. There is a water taxi stand and vaporetto stop (water bus) located in front of the hotel. What a plus! We didn't have to haul our luggage up and down bridges to get to our hotel. That would have been a nightmare since we are notorious over packers. One of the benefits is that you will always easily find your way back to the hotel when out and about and wandering the beautiful alley ways. There are signs posted everywhere that say "Per Rialto" that point the way back to the bridge. That definitely took the stress out of getting lost in the maze of beautiful, picturesque alley ways. I would definitely stay here again in heartbeat. The location can't beat! read more

The location of this hotel is perfect. You can't get more central. For breakfast you can eat outside and watch the action on the grand canal and Rialto bridge. Bruna, the server in breakfast area is a lovely start to the day. Lovely lady The rooms are adequate. Nothing to complain about. Nothing special but fine. Depending on where your room is, wifi can be hit or miss. Not really an issue as always a strong signal in lobby. There is a nice little terrace with great views open 24 7. Take your glass of wine and enjoy the view. read more

I am a solo traveler and was looking for something small but high quality. Unfortunately, the small rooms in this hotel are not that. I have no clue what the bigger rooms look like, but mine is terrible. The positives: -location is very easy to get to by vaporetto -location is literally steps from the Rialto Bridge -breakfast is decent for price Negatives: -I have one window that you can see nothing out of except another persons window -the closet is significantly shorter than me and I am 62 inches tall. -the bath products they give you are minimal and cheap quality (you get a shampoo/body wash combo and a bar of soap plus shower cap. no conditioner, toothbrush, or toothpaste provided). -the room smells like sewer -the shower handle says hot water is to the left, but it is actually to the right. -the shower temperature is inconsistent even when left on one spot it will scald at times and freeze at times-maybe if someone in another room flushes a toilet? -shower had a hair and fingernail in it when I arrived -the room temperature is HOT. -even in late December with window open 24 hours, the room temperature will not go below 25 Celsius (77F). Outside temperature is 40F -there is no AC and window provides no breeze -when I told them the room is too hot I was laughed at. -the room is so small and cramped that there is nowhere to put luggage. I had to put mine on the small desk and even then it does not really fit well. -you get 2 very small pillows and they will not bring you more if requested -the balcony they have on the first floor with view of bridge is unavailable. You are not allowed to access it as it is under construction. -there are very few outlets available and the ones that are don't all work -the hotel has lots of weird long halls and is kind of creepy and rundown. Again, this is for the smaller room-I have no idea if the bigger rooms have better quality or service. I would not come back to find out. read more

Why 4 stars? Because the location was perfect but there were a couple issues. --- --- --- My wife strongly disagrees with my non 5-star review here, but I was honestly debating rating Rialto 3-stars. Here's why: -We visited during the first week of May, and the air conditioner was still not turned on. This meant that we had to leave the window open because it was very warm. I wish they would make a judgment call on the temperature and turn the air on sooner than whatever they have pre-determined as the date to do so. It was absolutely warm enough to get some A/C cranking! -Because of our need to keep the window permanently open, we were subject to listening to folks sitting outside at the bar next door, who had a very loud conversation late into the night. I'm a deep sleeper and was knocked out before this even started, but my wife was up super late listening to an impassioned (drunk) political debate. But the only reason I was able to fall asleep so easily is because I was exhausted from traveling. On a normal night, I too would have been kept up for hours. -This hotel is super old, like most buildings in Europe, so I don't fault Rialto too much for this, but the electrical outlets were very iffy. We had to rig a set-up to keep things plugged in, because the outlets were so loose that the plugs were just falling out. -The look of the room is super old school. Some would call it charming (my wife) but I thought it was like staying in my great grandmother's room. Again, I'm aware that I was in Italy, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. -The water from the sink almost tasted like pho. It was very strange. As for the things I liked: -The location was super centralized. The Rialto bridge is the biggest (or one of the biggest) bridges in Venice, so it was very convenient to get around from Rialto. -The central location lent itself to an amazing view out the window. I'd have to imagine it's one of the better hotel views in the city. -The folks at the front desk were helpful and friendly. We would drop our key off with them when we headed out so that we didn't have to carry it around with us. (They actually request that you do this.) It was nice because we had so much to carry around. If this hotel were in the U.S. I would likely rate it 3-stars, or possibly even 2-stars. But I realize the AC problem and old-school decor would have been the same at just about any hotel in Venice, so I don't hold it too much against them. read more

Location ! Came here for four nights to explore Venice. From the airport we took the ferry to the Rialto stop. The hotel is SO close to the ferry spot. You will appreciate this when you see others pulling luggage over big staircases and bridges. We were greeted right away. All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There was ALWAYS someone at the front counter. The view of the hotel is literally looking at the Rialto bridge and the canal. The location couldn't of been better. We did come during rainy season, so one morning the lobby was actually flooded but it only lasted til about noon. They offer complimentary breakfast which had cereal, eggs, bacon, breads, fruit, juices, and fresh coffee. The rooms were all nice and the bathroom was spacious. The WiFi works great too. This is a great place to stay ! read more

Hotel Rialto - Hotel directly to left ! - Hotels Near Me - Venezia, VE

So disappointed in our room. Dark, dated, dingy and drab. Definitely not what I thought I had booked. Two tiny 15 watt bulb lights. Filthy scuffed and damaged walls, doors and shower. Windows shuttered and we definitely weren't going to try to open them for more light. Had to walk three flights up in a building with an elevator?!? Of course we walked in Venice, but I have a mobility issue and booked a hotel with an elevator because of this. One small luxury given the difficulty walking I was worried about. I wish I had read more reviews, but from what I did read, it seems like everyone else had a lovely canal view room and we got stuck in the leftovers on a forgotten floor. My daughter was dealing with some nausea issues and was afraid to sit on the floor in front of the toilet because the floor was gross. Sure, a vacation hotel room is generally only for sleeping, but shouldn't you feel like the room is clean? I have been to Venice. I have stayed in classic hotels there. It is an ancient city so not everything is going to be modern luxury. But this was really a poor choice on my part. We were standing in front of the hotel on our last night and my daughter pointed up to a room we could clearly see into and said "why didn't we get a room like that?" Funny - what I could see looked a lot like what was in the pictures when I booked. At the very least it had real windows overlooking the canal! [and fyi - I just did a search for the same room on the Rialto website. We were NOT in a room that I see on that page!] Venice was the last stop on our trip through Italy celebrating my daughter's birthday and to say this hotel stay was a terrible way to end the vacation is an understatement. The pictures on the website are quite deceptive. Our room is shabby with cobwebs on the ceiling and corners. The bed covering is frayed from use and the jacuzzi jets in the shower are filthy. The furniture is all stained from use and about to fall apart. read more

Lovely hotel right at the foot of the Rialto Bridge. Really courteous staff, sumptuous breakfast, and overall decorated with old world Venetian charm. Would definitely stay again. read more

I should perhaps cut & paste Brett N's review below and ditto everything as mine as well, since his experience was strikingly similar to mine, but that isn't kosher, per se, so I'm not going to do it. Besides, I have a few extras to add, since this was my 2nd time as a guest at Hotel Rialto. The first time I was at Hotel Rialto was the last few days of March 2002, during Spring Break. I was a wide-eyed travel loving 12, almost 13 year old, on holiday with my parents. The view of the Rialto Bridge was almost everything to me, and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. That year was remarkably hot, and yes, the AC was not on yet. Thus, to the tune of locals and travelers shouting all night long, I stayed awake and peered at them through the window. Fast forward 16 years and Hotel Rialto (while having a significant cosmetic remake) is pretty much the same charming hotel it was in 2002. Outlets were giggly and inefficient to a point where we needed staff to come to the room for a quick fix, and the open windows were quite distracting as our skin a tad too glistening for my comfort. Still, breakfasts were as delicious as they are in the USA, and most of all, we were made to feel safe during both visits. The first time, Italy, particularly, Venice, was under strict watch as it was near the Easter holiday amidst terror threats. This time, I simply felt safe, as hotel staff made it clear that safety was their priority. For old world charm, friendly service and safety, great views from most of the rooms and likely the best location in all of Venice, for being right at the Rialto bridge and sightseeing as well, Hotel Rialto can't be beat! read more

We enjoyed our stay. Nice rooms/bathrooms/linens, good breakfast, excellent staff (front desk and all other roles as well). We thought the location may be an issue (too much in the heart of things), but we actually enjoyed how convenient the location was and we had no issue with noise or crowds. The only downside for us is we requested an elevator. Our room was on the 4th floor and the elevator only went to the second floor. Beware of this when you book your room. read more

Our travel agent booked this hotel (what he called a hotel) for us. It made me think back to the 60's or early 70's. They had a room key that was on a tassel (this was every room) and was hanging in a box at the front desk visible to everyone who was not only staying at the hotel but those who entered the lobby. They haven't moved forward with the keycard like most all of the hotels have for safety of those who occupy their rooms. People sitting on the couches could see them pulling the key for the box and see which room you were going to be staying. Once in, the room was definitely frozen in the early 70's, the bed and all the furniture were from the 70's. So dated. The flooring (rug) had stains on it even worse feeling. The bathroom was very small and being a tall American (and an athletic build) I felt very cramped in this room. I had to step out of the bathroom to towel off my back. One day when we came back from our daily walk/tour adventures, the room had a VERY strong cigarette smell that I immediately reported to the front desk clerk. They stated that none of the staff are allowied to smoke but did come to check out. They suspected it was from "outside" and no one was in our room. A few mornings when departing for a daily tours and walks around Venice, I noticed that they allowed people to sleep on the furniture on the floor where their guests stayed. People had their suit cases/belongings near them so I'm not sure why this was. This hotel is at the end of the Rialto Bridge so I am sure that it has it's share of "low life" watching you. It made me even being young and fit, uncomfortable so I can't imagine how a woman or child must feel. We even had the unfortunate experience of having our money (not a small amount either) stolen from the room while we were out having a meal. I believe was an inside job because I made sure the door was locked when I excited. Please think about your wife and family when choosing a hotel and steer clear of this Hotel Rialto. read more

I have been trying to get a refund for my hotel stay for months now. The hotel itself shut down and at first they said that my reservation was "non-refundable" despite it being impossible to stay at the hotel due to THEM closing their doors. Finally after threatening to dispute the charge to my card with my bank and post reviews of my experience they agreed to a refund but it would take 30 days to process because of the volume of refunds they needed to do. After 30 days they informed me that they could not refund my card and instead asked for my personal banking information via email to process the refund. I refused and asked for a check instead and low and behold they cannot offer a check refund. Do not recommend this hotels shady practices at all. I am now, 2 months later, going through the dispute process as they were not able to uphold their end of our agreement. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more
