I enjoyed this hotel very much. I read some negative reviews on Google, but I thought the pictures looked fine and the location (2 minute walk to the Coliseum and Roman Forum) seemed like a risk worth taking. The staff was helpful and kind (saw someone give them a bad review and mentioned part of it was because the staff asked them to pay cash for the city fee) every hotel in Italy has asked that of me, not really the employees fault. The employees were kind, helpful, and spoke enough English to help me (an English speaking, American) learn about great local restaurants, street directions, and the expected fee for taxis to certain locations. They even make a great cup of coffee at the complimentary breakfast, which is like most hotel complimentary breakfasts-breads, yogurt and fruits. Our room was small, but not uncomfortable to move about it. Sparsely decorated, but I came to Rome for ancient sight seeing not big screen TV watching or art on the walls. The bathroom was huge. The shower/bath was large and clean and had great water pressure and heat. The towels (my number one complaint at most other hotels) were soft and huge-beach size shower towels!!! It wasn't an expensive hotel, nor is it listed as a top ranked hotel, so perfect no-WIFI is free, but was spotty and yeah the room was a bit in need of paint, but it was clean and comfy. read more
