My fiancé and I got engaged in Jan 2019 and after venue shopping and planning, we were referred to Yvette in May 2019. At the time, we decided to not do a pop up since we ended up deciding to do a wedding on a cruise in 2020. Well obviously that fell apart thanks to the pandemic! Yvette was there to save the day! We were hoping things would get better in 2020 but COVID cases kept rising so we said screw it, let's do the pop up wedding! And we are SO happy that we did! We didn't want to do a huge party and spend thousands on a wedding but we got the upscale wedding look for so much less. Yvette and her team were offering these COVID packages (see their Instagram to see if still on going) and we had an officiant, seating for 25, cake, photographer venue and decorations all for under $2000. My family was worried that since we were spending significantly less than the average wedding cost that it wouldn't be as nice. In fact, we were criticized prior to the wedding, but then the day of the wedding arrived and they were in awe. It was so romantic and beautiful. Yvette and her team added flowers, candles and just made the night so magical. The cake was delicious and over all the experience was dreamy and magical. Pop Up Weddings Houston also go beyond the pop up wedding bookings. Yvette does weddings of all sizes! They actually do wedding give aways on their instagram so check it out if you're recently engaged! They also work with vendors/partners who provide live streaming services, photo booths and more! Anyways, major thanks to Pop Up Wedding Houston! I am totally referring my engaged friends to them! I knew when I got engaged that I wanted to hire somebody b/c working full time and being really…read morebusy I knew I didn't have the time to plan a wedding....let alone my own wedding! :) I am an accountant and really into the details but when it comes to outside of work I like to relax and not have to deal with anything particularly stressful. It was definitely a provision and huge blessing to get to hire Jennifer as my planner. My (now) husband and I knew we wanted a short engagement and we ended up picking a date about 4 months after our engagement! So we planned on a ceremony and afternoon snack reception at the church we attend. We had about 160 people show up (including some little ones) and Jennifer did a FANTASTIC job. (1.) She kept us updated through email and texts and face to face meetings regularly (i.e. weekly to bi-weekly) about what was going on and what needed to be done by whom and when (2.) She started out by asking what our expectations were and what we envisioned / what was important to us. From there, she helped us figure out what we could do and what we could not do based off of our budget. At our first meeting, she had already researched a few places and florists based off of our budget! (3.) She took care of all of the details - the church we were married at required us to work with their wedding coordinator so I let Jennifer handle all the logistics of working with the church coordinator for our wedding. I didn't have to deal with refrigeration, working with the sound guy for the reception, etc etc (4.) She did a few extra things like have a beautiful basket ready for us for our wedding night. She made sure to not put anything that we wouldn't normally use (for example, my husband and I are not big wine drinkers). So it felt like a thoughtful gift/touch and not just something thrown together. (5.) She knew that my husband and I wanted to save as much as possible so she was on top of doing research regarding things like cutlery to buy (and where), using Instacart to deliver for free, etc. (6.) She was incredibly detailed when it came to what needed to be done and when. For example, for the grand exit, she was detailed enough to know to place certain people where for pictures and who should hold what (also for pictures). (7.) During the Rehearsal Dinner and Ceremony and Reception she was always busy taking care of everything (i.e. the food was replenished, drinks were refilled, etc) so that way things went off without a hitch and unnoticed (8.) She created a Kids Corner for the reception! It was such a wonderful idea and one of my friends who has two little ones (the oldest in elementary school) said that she had such a hard time pulling her youngest girl away from the Kids Corner! I didn't even think about anything like this and thought it was such a genius idea. :) (9.) Overall, given how busy I am and how much I dislike planning, I felt incredibly NOT stressed having Jennifer as my planner. I basically just did whatever she asked us to do (and it pretty much was just having to make decisions ) and didn't even worry throughout the whole planning process. The ONLY time I worried was when I thought my dress wasn't going to make it on time but that was through a completely different vendor - Jennifer was amazing though and offered to help should I have needed it (i.e. by finding a wrap to go over the back up dress, etc). Thankfully, there was no need for that! For any bride to be's out there who are looking for a planner who they can trust and who takes her job incredibly seriously and REALLY knows the details, I highly, highly, highly recommend Jennifer. She did such a fantastic job! She has been doing this for 10 years and it really shows. :)
