SANA has an incredibly welcoming space. You can immediately sense this is a community and not just…read morea yoga studio. I took a fusion class, so it was energizing, cardiovascular and calming. The instructor had the ability to both push you past your limits and encourage you for just showing up. With yoga, you use your body weight to exercise through various poses that help you strengthen your muscles. This studio makes your experience both physical and mental. I had one of my favorite Memphis yoga experiences here. They allow new visitors to try out the classes unlimited for two weeks at $35. They have in-person, online and private classes with 50, 60, and 80-minute formats for every level, beginner to advanced. The classes include Sumits-style hot yoga, tabata-style hot Pilates, a vinyasa style yoga flow, Ashtanga Short Form and Yin Yoga. They run 5:50 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sundays. Check them out. They seem like good people.

I met with Will over a year ago and he gets you the results you need! He not only focuses on getting you healthy (food intake, BMI, Fat %), he makes sure you get the workout you need. He is amazing at customizing a workout plan that works for you and your body. I just recently asked him to update my work out routine and he walked me through every step, the reps I need and what part of the body the exercise focused on! Second, The Kickstarter is a series of five small 1:1 sessions to assess your fitness and allow you to quickly become a butt kicking class member. This is done by testing strength, flexibility, and endurance. Last is the level program that allows everyone to do the same workout while having modifications built in based on the assessments mentioned above. This has the added benefit of the trainers being able to meet you where you are. I showed up because of word of mouth and would love to pay that forward. It is worth coming in and see for yourself. Ask lots of questions and see if you are not impressed by the team!

The waiver comes via text which made it easy to get that done prior to class. The class starts on time. I was still looking for the actual place when class started so had to reschedule for another day (there were also texts and calls reminding me about this). The actual class was awesome. The instructor had a nice calm voice and demonstrated what needed to be done (while talking us through how to get into position) which was great for different types of leaners. At the end of class, we were given a spiel about packages with the option for drop in classes. I personally prefer a handout with exact class days and times as my schedule varies from week to week. I did not buy a package that day, but still continue to get texts from here. When my schedule slows down some, I will definitely be working Pilates in.

I didn't get a tour nor was getting on and off the bike explained well. No one asked for an ID (nor was i informed of costs or fees (i.e., canceling classes with less than 24 hour notice = $10 fee)). No Sunday classes. The app needs development! The pros: Everything else. I love the instructors (inspirational!) , the playlists (fun but explicit), the encouragement and support of the other members... all of it. Stats are updated in real time on the monitor and allow you to see how hard you pushed yourself via the app following the class. Despite the concerning start, I did sign up for a membership and I love attending CycleBar. With a few tweaks, other (potential) members will feel more at ease, increasing sign ups!
