They have a pool, saunas, showers and huge locker rooms. Lockers are also upstairs in the gym area. Plenty of room and equipment here. I normally go in the morning and it's little wait for machines. While they do have classes, I wish there was more variety & later times. All the classes that I want to do is either during working hours or at another YMCA location. Other than that, I glad I picked this spot.

I was told that my daughter could sit while I worked out since the child care section hasn't been finished nor employees to stand in it. My daughter is 9 almost 10 an when I went Monday I was told she is not allowed upstairs. Even tho she has been before but apparently who ever allowed it wasn't suppose to Which is understandable But each facility I go to the daycare section isn't open an I'm basically not able to work out anymore unless I drop my daugyer off somewhere The front desk staff Head director is absolutely unprofessional and rude. They shouldn't be allowed to threaten terminating my membership just because I stated she's been upstairs with me before. The director literally told me I will terminate your membership. So I decided to come to the olive branch location. As soon as I stepped in my outfit was a problem. Which it's never been at the down town location. But either way I recommend Keon center at this point. Because all the ymca facilities are becoming rude an unprofessional

I had a bad experience here. I'm an almost 60 year old lady and was bullied by a large muscle guy…read more I went to get on a machine and was told by the guy next to me I couldn't use that machine. I asked why, and he said it was his. I said if he wanted that machine I would be happy to use the one he was on. He said no, it was his to. I told him he couldn't use 2 machines at once but he said yes he could and all of them do it. He was extremely rude and was definitely trying to intimidate me. I told him even if they all do it, I'm sure it is not allowed because there isn't that many machines for people to use 2 at the same time! He said it was allowed and I could check with the staff. So I went and asked and of course he said no and so I asked him to go tell the guy. This is where it got weird. When the employee got there the guy was on the machine that he had told me I couldn't use, with his earbuds in and wouldn't look up. Apparently, the employee was either afraid of the guy or it is a boy's club, because he turned to me and said we all try to treat each other with respect. This was ridiculous to say to me because it was the man being disrespectful to me, not the other way around! After a few minutes he did finally get around to telling the guy he could only use one machine and not save one while he was on another machine. The next day I tried to talk to the manager about how the employee handled the situation but he blew me off and said he told him the rules and he didn't see the problem. I said the problem was that he should have just explained the rules to the man and not given me a lecture on respect. I felt demeaned by both of the men and then by the manager also. It was a sexist response by all 3 of them. To be fair, other than this experience, it has been a good place to exercise.

Soooo nowadays everyone has heard of Crossfit, it's sort of the new big thing in fitness... I've…read morebeen wanting to give it a try for over a year now, I've heard great things about it, not only that it's something that works, but it's something that anyone can do. A few months ago I was looking on Groupon for a good deal and I ran across one for Faction Strength and Conditioning. The Groupon was for 6 weeks of Crossfit., 4 weeks of Fundamentals into classes (3 days a week) and 2 weeks of unlimited regular classes... I jumped on the deal immediately! Because the one thing that has been keeping me from doing Crossfit is how expensive it is. So i figured I would take advantage of this awesome deal! I convinced my roommate to get it with me so we could go to the classes together. We were undeniably nervous the first day, we didn't really know what to expect. There was a large group of people 40 - 45 people, ranging in age, sex and body type. We were greeted by a group of coaches who led us outside to begin the night with a warm up. I was impressed from the beginning, with a group so large i was questioning how effective the class would be, but without a doubt the coaches made us into a team. Every night we were introduced to a number of new movements/exercises that would then be combined to create the WOD aka work out of the day. The set up of the gym, looking like a warehouse with tons of workout equipment thrown inside, it's a big daunting at first glance, but throughout every night the coaches showed us how to use the equipment step by step. The coaches understand that there is a wide range of skill level with the people that come through the gym, knowing this the coaches always offer a "scaled version" of the workout, which basically constitutes a way to gain strength in a similar movement to in hopes be able to do the "Rx(prescribed)" version of the exercise in time. I have been going to Faction for 6 weeks now and I love it more and more every week, I am not strongest or fastest person in the gym and often times I am doing the scaled version of any given exercise, but in the last 6 weeks I can already tell a change in my body. I feel stronger, both physically and mentally and I feel a sense of personal competitiveness, I want to keep working hard and pushing myself to get better. Since my Groupon ended I have joined the Faction gym with a 12-month commitment. Okay so enough about me, to all of you future Crossfitters hesitating to give it a try, don't! Come see the amazing family that Faction has created! Trust me, you won't regret it!

As an evening dedicated member, I rotate through classes with Greg, Abe, Wes, Marlon, and Chase, and that variety keeps workouts fresh while still delivering a serious full-body burn every time. No two classes feel the same, but the quality never drops. The diversity and inclusiveness here truly matter--you're supported, pushed, and encouraged at your own level. And for the membership rates, the value is unmatched considering the intensity and effectiveness of the workouts. You get strength, cardio, stress relief, and confidence all in one. Amanda was warm and welcoming as soon as we walked through the door. She modified routines for me, which I greatly appreciated, and coached us during the whole session. I never felt embarrassed or out of my comfort zone, which I was really nervous about. I highly recommend this place to anyone! Even the other members were very friendly and helpful! Amazing.
