I took Coach Jenny's guidance to heart and followed everything she instructed me, and I've gone from having 17.8 percent body fat to 9 percent body fat. More importantly, I've learned what food to put in my body and consistently followed that game plan. After going from 35.9 pounds to 16.5 pounds of body fat, I've shifted my focus to gaining muscle. I supplemented my workouts at home with the classes, sometimes I was doing the same muscle groups twice. Also, since the classes are all time driven, it's really difficult to get a good lift in. A lot more cardio based. Great if that's what you want of course. Location made it hard to find parking sometimes in the evening. Small classes usually, so I liked that. Just make sure you get a copy of your contract. I didn't and I definitely paid for it in the end.

The truth is, keeping up at 51 has been a challenge. Up until about three months ago, I was fighting what I call the 'dad bod life'--adding a few pounds here and there, year after year. It's been almost three months since I joined a mind, body, and soul program, and I've started to feel a real sense of community, or a culture if you will, created by the founder, Jason. Just last week, I found myself with walking pneumonia, and I was laid out for a couple of days--I mean, laid out. After looking into B12 shots, liquid IVs, and cryo chambers, I sent Jason a message and asked, 'Does the infrared sauna really work? I'm feeling pretty drained and need a quick solution.' I came in to learn more about their membership, equipment, and gym hourly operations. Chris was kind, professional, and welcoming. The weightlifters were also welcoming too. I shared that I'm switching my physical activity from basketball to weightlifting to begin strengthening my body-- the basics, and this gym honestly has all that I need.
