I had a stay at the Embassy Suites so I loved the convenience of walking to this restaurant through the lobby. I initially wanted to try happy hour but ended up getting the all day pre fix menu. I tried the fried mushrooms, Atlantic salmon and the brownie. All were pretty good. If you can't leave the property for some reason this is a reasonable place to dine. read more

We decided to eat here for a quick dinner on a Saturday night and were seated fairly quickly. Service was pretty good also. We were starving so started with the chips and queso...it was good! I had the fish tacos and they were okay but seemed to be missing something. The other guests had the fish/chips and cheeseburger. I think the burger was the best choice among the table. We then decided to split the butter cake for dessert. Lol! It was the smallest butter cake that I've ever seen but I should have known by the price. The flavor was decent however. Food was amazing. One of the best steaks my wife and I have ever had! We both got the Kansas City Strip and some Firecracker Shrimp. Both steak were cooked they perfectly and the shrimp was well seasoned. The sides were even tasty. Would recommend the green beans, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese There was a bit of a wait due to not enough wait staff but the staff that is there was really nice and took care of us really well! I stayed at embassy 4 times a year and this was my first n last time eating at Houlihan's!!!! We ordered burger and ask was it seasoned with garlic was told no and said no onions or tomato.Burger was served full of garlic also had onions and tomato.Asked for manager after paying bill and explained our issue with food she did apologize but no not offered new food or a discount I was highly disappointed said waitress was new and didn't understand that's no excuse and how you do business if you want costumers to return !!!!! read more

Better than I expected. The burger was good and the mashed potatoes are buttery and delicious. Don't eat them all if you want to live a long life. Megan at the bar was fantastic and I had a fun night watching basketball. Will go back next time in Jonesboro. read more

The server was very friendly, and provided attentive service. Also, the outdoor patio seating area is glorious on a nice day. I also appreciated their price deal on appetizers. However, most everything they have available from their appetizer menu is deep-fried. The pork dumplings weren't particularly flavorful, and seemed to have come frozen from a box. Given the trends all across the country, they could really stand to expand their selection of non-alcoholic beers. O'Doul's just doesn't suffice anymore. For starters our waitress Rene was phenomenal she had such positive energy and was very attentive! We were seated quickly, which was nice. The outside is beautiful and the interior was just as beautiful as well. I had the summer water, which is a part of their seasonal menu and it was exactly as it sounded sooo refreshing and yummy! For appetizers we had the firecracker shrimp and the pork dumplings, both were quite good except the sauce for the dumplings was overpowering. For the entree, I had the so cal fish tacos with french fries which OMG so delicious and highly recommend because it was so flavorful! My boyfriend had the steak with loaded baked potato and mac n cheese, which he said was okay and not worth the price. We had the butter cake for dessert and also delicious! All in all it was a great experience, but I'm not sure if it's worth the price and because my boyfriend and I had different experiences with our food is why I'm giving it 3 stars. read more

Let me start this review by pointing out two things. First, this was our wedding anniversary dinner. We usually do Omar's but wanted to try this place this time. And, second, I checked in with Yelp and it turns out the restaurant "doesn't do that." Okay, fine. They sat us at the bar until we could get a table. The bartender was awesome. Had some funny talk with him and really enjoyed the banter. I had a strawberry basil lemonade. It was pretty fantastic. It cost $9. Not too keen on the price. I'm cheap. We finally got us a seat at a real table - social distanced, of course - and got our appetizer. I ordered the spicy chicken and avocado egg rolls. They were pretty okay. Don't know what to say, really. They were good. But not great. I ordered the Kansas City Strip with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The wife ordered the filet with a house salad and sweet potato fries. I didn't try the wife's food. About all she said is that it's good, but not as good as Omar's filet with the goat cheese. She really enjoyed the salad and the sweet potatoes. My steak was perfectly cooked. It was pretty good. It was definitely pretty (see pics). Taste-wise it was decent. No complaints. It lacked salt (I salt the crap out of my steaks), but it was still pretty good. The mashed potatoes were excellent. Very buttery. The asparagus was good but there was a whooping 5 pieces. We ordered the St. Louis something-another for dessert. The first taste was incredible. But I gradually grew tired of it as I ate it. Not sure if that's a reflection on the food or how full I was or the significant buzz I'd developed from the drinks. Either way, it was, again, good not great. Overall, my favorite part of Houlihan's is the atmosphere and the service. But, all in all, it's hotel food at hotel prices. Not bad, but not great. Passing through Arkansas from Texas to Illinois we often stop off in Jonesboro as its a convenient spot between the two places. Since the hotel that Houlihan's is based in is new we have stayed here twice and dined at Houlihan's each time. The food is very so so. Think a less good version of Chili's. Just set your expectation on something that is par for the course and you probably won't be disappointed. You won't be blown away by the food here. We stayed at the Hotel a few days ago and had dinner here again. As expected the food was OK. Nothing to write home about. This time we tried the margaritas on the drinks menu. Truly absolutely awful. I tried the Top Shelf Margarita and it was incredibly sweet. Like they had got some God awful mix from a cheap liquor store and dumped more sugar in it. Absolutely terrible. It's really isn't that difficult to make a fresh margarita. Lime juice. Agave. Tequila. I tried another margarita on the menu after the first one and it was the same. I even asked our waiter if they could make it less sweet and it was virtually the same. Keep your expectations low for the food. Steer clear of the margaritas. read more

My wife and I visited the restaurant for the first time today and we were surprisingly disappointed. The level of service was horrendous considering we walked in right as they opened and were the only patrons for almost 45 minutes. The drinks were not made to our satisfaction. Basically all the waiter told us was we make them according to our own recipe. The pace of the meal was much slower than we thought it should be. We did speak to a manager as we were leaving and voiced our displeasure and all he basically told us was I'm sorry to hear that I'll have a talk with the waiter. My family and I dropped in to eat here after a wedding. We were seated promptly and in light of everything going on, they are pretty strict about people wearing masks (which is a good thing, IMO). Our server was friendly and attentive to everything we needed. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. THE FOOD...OMG. I could tell that EVERYTHING was freshly made. We had the petite sirloin, the fish & chips, and the scallops, along with an order of mango habanero wings and potstickers. The sauces were definitely made in house (the tartar sauce and fresh blue cheese is THE TRUTH) and all the entrees were yummy! I think the star of the dinner was the fish and chips. Good food, decent vibe, bartender has gross standards and I think expects someone else to bus his bar. I popped over here from the hotel strictly for convenience. I slipped past the two hostesses like a ninja or they just didn't care to notice, proceeded to the bar and was greeted promptly. It was hard not to notice the finished plate and 6 glasses down the bar from we, which remained the duration of my meal. My section of the bar could have used a good wipe as well, several cocktail menus scattered in front. I ordered the potato soup after having a beer which was exceptional, I finished just as my scallops entree arrived, the bowl stayed in front of me. I finished my meal and my plate stayed there as I finished my beer and signed my check, which was handed to me not in a check book, which a stack of were sitting right in front of me. I grabbed one so I could write on my receipt without adding a sticky receipt to my wallet. The guy apologized and said sorry the pens don't write sometimes? How about be a professional, you're in a brand new hotel and will be hosting business professionals, this is not a college bar dude. Professionalism in terms of How you communicate with customers needs improvement, and you need to maintain a clean bar, it's not hard. Clear dishes that are no longer being used, same with glasses. When people leave, wipe the bar down. And please stop pointing at people's faces when you ask them questions, eye contact clearly shows who you're directing your attention to. Use the American Express checkbooks to present a check, I may have been alone, but if I had been hosting customers I would prefer to be discreet when picking up the bill for a group, use the books. I would like to conclude by saying the food was excellent and served very timely, however the whole experience was marred due to front end staff laziness. Order my food online for pick up, and after waiting the recommended 30 minutes I showed up only to be told that the item ordered is no longer available on the menu. Then they told me I could order a replacement from the appetizer menu, since they did not know how to issue a credit to my card from an online order. Most of those items are cheaper than the item I originally ordered. So I let them know that I did not want anything from the appetizer list. After more waiting, they told me I could get an entrée instead or a credit back to the card. After the hassle, lengthy wait, and just ready to rest after a long day, I selected Something from the appetizer list and waited another 30 minutes. When I received the item it was under cooked and horrible tasting. This was a disappointing mess. This was about the fifth time I've eaten at Houlihan's, and it will be the last. Almost every time there was an element of disappointment, but not as bad as tonight. read more

The only complaint I would have is the prices, but I didn't let this impact my review because this is just a place you should expect to be expensive. I'm a guest at the attached Embassy Suites, and I walk up at 7pm asking to be sat as a single person at the bar, which only has 1 couple at the entire bar. The lead hostess tells me that it's a 45 minute wait and that she can't seat me at the bar due to COVID...as I'm staring at the open bar seats next to another couple being currently served at the bar. Mind you, I walked literally 100 feet to Houlihan's from the Embassy Suites Bar, which had every seat occupied, so I'm not sure which COVID regulation she's referencing. After 10 mins standing there, she hands me a menu and says you can order from within the embassy suites and they'll just bring it over. I walk back to the embassy suites, and the embassy suites bartender has no clue what she's talking about and says you can't order from within there. So I walk back, not 2 minutes after she handed me the menu the first time and says "we can seat you at the bar now"...not sure what happened to the 45 minute advertised wait. I sit down and ask for the 12oz KC Strip..."we're out of that". Ok, I'll have the 6oz Filet Mignon..."we're out of that". I walked back to the Embassy Suites, got a complimentary wine and bought snack food from behind the counter and had a MUCH better experience. read more
