Marian, with an A, is a gem of a person and an outstanding business owner! I felt like a valued…read morecustomer walking in off the street. The Chicago themed items for sale in her store are good quality and reasonably priced. I will definitely return soon to score some more Chitown merch. Thank you, Marian.

Fantastic shop for locals and tourists alike; it's just far enough off the beaten path that I think…read morelots of tourists need to be in the know to find it. I've driven by the shop several times and wondered what it was--I saw the solidarity fist; bar? Union headquarters? I found out what it was when I ended up here to buy souvenirs when flying home to visit family. They have TONS of stuff, lots of t-shirts and sweatshirts, but also hats, glasses, mugs... even pacifiers with the Chicago flag on them (you know I bought one for the toddler). They have some standard Chicago flag stuff but they also put their spin on it with some flags made with animal paws, or maybe my favorite was the one with apples on it. I think that's what lured me in, actually; my best friend is a teacher and I wanted to get one to take to her. The guy that works there told me the story, that the teacher's union was going to strike and this was a design they had come up with and Rep CHI started printing them. I looooooove the way the Chicago flag is used as the basis of so many designs and this is one of my favorites. Prices are super reasonable and you'll find lots of great stuff here. If you have visitors, I'd definitely bring them here first to look for souvenirs. The parking is fairly easy, all street in this area of Jeff/Portage Park. And grab a few of their little buttons on the way out!

    Wicker Park, West Town

Had a very offputting experience with this location. I live in Chicago, but I ordered a product…read moreonline for UPS shipping due to an impending snowstorm. Put the tracking number I was given into my UPS app, but the app never updated me, which I thought was strange. Several days later, I checked my UPS app and it showed my order was delivered the day before, to a different city in Illinois. When I tried to view the delivery photo, the app showed that I needed to enter an email address with a different domain than my email address. I called the Wicker Park store, which is the main storefront, and said that it appeared they had sent my order to someone else. The person who answered the phone could not have cared less, told me there was nothing she could do, and I needed to call their shipping service. I asked if they were a vendor, and the store said yes. I asked who had the authority to resend my package, and they said it was up to the shipping service. I told them they were the store that sold me the item and if they were not going to ensure I received it, I was going to file a Better Business Bureau complaint, which I since have done. I called the shipping service and they told me they were actually part of the company, not a vendor. It would have been helpful for the person answering the phone at the actual store to know that, which they did not. I gave the shipping clerk my order number, and they confirmed that my package had been sent to somebody else, living at an address in Wilmette. I asked how that happened, and they told me that the printer they use for shipping labels sometimes prints duplicate labels, and this has happened before. They offered to re-ship my item but in order to ensure I actually got it, I had to make a special trip to their Andersonville store in the middle of another snowstorm to pick it up in person, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. My question is, if they know their shipping label printer is screwed up, and they keep occasionally sending orders to the wrong people, why don't they just replace the printer? Why did it fall on me, and I'm sure other customers, to figure out they had sent my order to an incorrect address, and then to have to essentially beg across two phone numbers to finally receive the order I had paid for? Lots of completely unnecessary stress because this store is too cheap to fix what they know is an ongoing, not insignificant problem. Knowing that they occasionally send things people have already paid for to other people and don't care to fix that issue? That's why I submitted my Better Business Bureau complaint.

Thank you world of Instagram for bringing this place to my attention before we left Chicago!!!!! I…read morecouldn't find the sort of souvenir items I wanted, and voila! The best place ever. They have fantastic shirt designs of course related to Chicago themes like the cicada unearthing (horrifying.... we really picked quite a time to visit), the fun sewer cover designs, the subway loop, Chicago style dogs, fancy architecture, etc. And they've got all these fantastic designs on mugs, cups, glasses, stickers, post cards, magnets, key chains, etc. I was really after one thing which was an artistic designed umbrella. I had one ages ago from the MoMa which was black on the outside and clouds on the inside. It broke and I never had a chance to replace it with another "fancy" umbrella. Here they had one that's black on the outside - and the chicago subway system on the inside. I love it! They have a second location uptown somewhere too which is fantastic. And the staff were so friendly! I love that they have bathrooms for their customers, too. Bonus points there for sure. Highly recommend popping in if you need any Chicago themed gifts.
