They have great quality coffee and made my cup at the perfect temperature. If this shop were closer to my home, I would choose to get my coffee here instead of Starbucks. My friends and I stopped by here for a pit stop, and I tried a sip of their iced coffee but my friend that ordered it is allergic to gluten and lactose, so she didn't add anything to it. I'm sure it would have tasted better made the way I preferred. The environment is so cute here! The entrance is very nice. There are numerous seating areas so it's a good place to bring friends, but I saw a lot of young-looking professionals hard at work on their laptops, so I assume it's typically a quiet environment and that they offer free wifi. I've been coming here a few times already since my Mother lives in this neighborhood. I'm so glad that I've decided to come...especially since they are one of the few shops in Dallas that actually knows how to do a good Americano. I think this is hipster heaven for Lower Greenville. There are a variety of seating options. Picture that scene in Knocked Up where Seth Rogen eats the shrooms with Paul Rudd before the Cirque de Soleil performance. I got this Japanese cold brewed coffee. This is probably the best cold brew I've had. It was an interesting tang to it without being very bitter. The staff was very friendly. It's a great place to hang out and work either on their patio or inside. read more

Houndstooth Coffee descended upon Dallas a while back, but they are undoubtedly building up not only a cult following, but a city following. Long has Knox-Henderson been the place to eat uppity food, drink craft beer, and set up shop at a local coffee shop. But Houndstooth is taking the last aspect to a whole new level. The owners, who built their fortress in Austin first, hail from Dallas so they know the nuances of the city. And they know that die-hard coffee fans flock here from all over Dallas to say that they started their Saturday morning with an Ethiopian pour-over from the best roaster in Berkeley. Not much needs to be added on my end but that whenever I head up I-35 from Austin, I stop in Waco at Dichotomy, then pull off 75 once I hit Dallas, paying myself a visit to Houndstooth. Quaint coffee bar located on southern Henderson. Inside community style seating with nice outdoor patio and bar area. Coffee is dark, bitter, and fresh. Arrive early so you have the luxury to try the breakfast taco of your choice. We enjoyed the corn and bean options (no meat option available...boo). Corn was the favorite due to texture and flavor. Make sure you try the "green" salsa as it screams of garlic and roasted jalapeños (reminds of an off menu size available at taco diner). The tortillas are quite the gummy vehicle encasing the eggs and vegetables which I liken to cookie dough texture....love this. We will come back read more

A wonderful coffee shop in Lower Greenville. Parking is limited. There is a lot nearby but if that's full, you kind of just have to hope that there are additional parking on the side of the road. I loved the vibe here. It's a perfect spot to catch up with friends or to study. Seating is limited, there are large communal tables in the middle where you share with others and of course no one minds. Sometimes it does get frustrating when you are there studying and the person next to you is there to chat. But you can't complain since that's what coffee shops are for. Walking in, we were greeted by the friendliest baristas. I ended up getting the iced vanilla latte. It was good but definitely overpriced. Their cups are plain, no special labels or anything. The music was great as well. I could have just gotten lucky on that day but I'm going to assume they play great music always. The only downside is the uncomfortable seats. No cushions, no backseats. Just a wooden stool. I definitely enjoyed my study session here but I quickly went home when a family sat down next to me and started their loud conversation. Definitely a spot you should hit up if you're in the area. I would come back to meet up with a friend or two but I wouldn't highly recommend this place as a place to get your study groove on. read more

I don't know dude (while having been to the other location near Taco Deli and liking that experience) when I visited Houndstooth off Henderson a couple weeks ago it was SO weird - packed but no one was making a sound. I seriously felt like I was in a production, someone said "quiet on set" but I walked in after and had missed that part. In wanting to try out a local coffee shop as there aren't many off Knox/Henderson I (almost literally) had to drag my boyfriend and from the uber limited menu to the weird vibe don't think he'll be back. As we brought our dog we had to sit outside - there was a make shift Tupperware water bowl (which we were grateful for) but with all of the other pet friendly businesses near by found it odd all they had was this. Along with that the entire front patio desperately need to be sanded down, repainted and just checked for splinters as it's kinda falling apart and sketchy. Not sure what's up as the other location is awesome - please make this one just as good! read more

Love, love love the coffee. They have special house blends that have very unique tastes. Coming from Los Angeles I've had a decent number of run ins with local coffee shops and I can say this is a must visit for anyone who loves coffee. The place is small and subtle, very very quiet, like library quiet so if you're trying to do work or study its perfect. They also have an outdoor patio so you are not constricted to the inside. It was 9:00 am on a Sunday morning, and there was a small line forming at the coffee ordering counter. A cheerful man took my order promtly, "It's my first time here, and I'd like a coffee. What do you suggest?". The man thought for a moment, and then suggested a wonderful cup of the house blend coffee. I wanted some breakfast to accompany, but they didn't have anything for people with food allergies (which is fine, no offense taken). I ordered a large house brewed coffee with almond milk and settled right into reading a good book. The atmosphere is modern, the chairs were more stiff than I like sitting on for hours (I was on an iron barstool), but nevertheless, it was very aurally and aesthetically pleasing.
