This place is super cute. The coffee was great. The service was alright. The chairs were comfortable to sit in.

Love the aesthetics, location, and menu items being offered! It's sitting right across from AT&T's Discovery District. A bit disappointed in our experience here. As we arrived, instead of being greeted, the two employees were talking amongst themselves and didn't acknowledge us for a strong two minutes at the counter. Finally, the gentleman took our orders, shared it with his colleague to prepare for us and she just looked confused. Our orders (iced banana matcha and a boozey iced coffee) came out wrong and had to be remade, despite the fact that I repeated the order a few times. It was a gorgeous space in downtown Dallas and I'll definitely visit again but the experience just irked me a bit.

I was stuck in Kay Bailey Conference center with low energy and subpar coffee options. So I made a 40 min round trip walk to Otto's for emergency caffeination. Was it worth the walk through blazing heat and high humidity? The coffee was good (better flavor than Merit Coffee in Deep Ellum IMO), but it wasn't the best cup I've ever had. The baristas made the latte to my specifications--sweet but not TOO sweet. Overall, I would make the walk again because it helped get me through a bunch of boring meetings, but I certainly wouldn't drive because it's too hard to deal with parking in downtown Dallas.

Why 4 stars? Because my breakfast sandwich and coffee hit the spot I needed. --- --- --- I was staying nearby and on my way back home to Houston, but priority #1 was coffee. I'm boring and just got some black drip coffee, which tasted like 95% of all drip coffee on planet Earth. I wouldn't have reviewed the place based on that, but I couldn't help myself but order one of their very tasty breakfast sandwiches that was just staring back at me from the display case. Bacon, egg and cheddar in between a couple of croissant buns. It was basically a high-end egg mcmuffin, and it was awesome. There were a couple cold bites in the middle, which was sub-optimal, but forgivable considering how ideal this thing was. I parked on the street behind it using ParkMobile and on a Saturday morning, the people on the streets were me and about 15 homeless folks, but everyone minded their own business and a delightful experience was had.

Finally made it here and it did not disappoint. I went with the barista's suggestion and tried the iced banana matcha. It was perfectcly balanced and not too sweet. I was expecting slightly more seating but there was plenty. There are a couple of different areas you can sit so just walk around and find a spot that works for you. This coffee shop is inside the Adolphus hotel and the decor is just beautiful and calming. I loved the dark accents and greenery. Will come back when I visit Dallas and if I can snag parking easily.

Great staff, amazing venue! The Royce and Taki are the best bartenders ever! Amazing!

Had a great experience here! Edgar was incredibly helpful with our order, and Sam and Phillip are fantastic baristas. I absolutely loved my Chai latte. It was perfectly balanced and flavorful. Highly recommend trying the Croque Monsieur; it's delicious and loaded with melted cheese. The ambiance is really nice, with cool decor that makes the space feel welcoming and stylish. Will definitely be back!

Such a beautiful cafe, lots of seating and beautiful artwork. Very clean and smells incredible. Our baristas, Ale and Edgar, were very kind and conversational. Loved the food, and great quality coffee! Can't wait to come back!

Service was amazing. Teri Edgar was so helpful and friendly. He has a wonderful personality and was so nice to us. We flew in from Dallas from California and Edgar was such a doll. He gave me a matcha banana latte because he said he messed up on the little creamer design on my original coffee (in which really does not matter to me at all because it tasted really good anyway). Overall, this is such a great little coffee shop. They serve goodies, pastries and other immunity juices as well.

Otto's Coffee is based inside the historic Adolphus hotel. We got a flavored matcha and vanilla latte. My vanilla latte was well made. The flavor profile of the matcha we ordered wasn't our favorite but I feel like it would have been better had we not gotten it flavored. To me, the main reason to come to this coffee shop is more so to see the beautiful Adolphus Hotel rather than the coffee itself. If I'm in the area, I would come back, but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Available pastries, they have rotating as well.

Tehe- UPDATE to shoutout my newest favorite drink! The shop as always is gorgeous and screams old money aesthetic. They did have a face lift recently though by adding a TV screen menu that advertises their extensive menu. They've also added alcoholic drinks to their menu and I'm super excited to try their espresso martini in the near future. A staff member recommended me their banana matcha a couple months ago and I've been obsessed since! Each time the drink is sweet and slightly fruity from the banana syrup.

Love the aesthetic and vibe. Otto's is inside of the Adolphus Hotel and looks beautiful and well kept. It has plenty of seating and is self-service. I had a latte and sugar-free vanilla, it was delicious and served relatively quickly. Would definitely return.

Came to Dallas for the weekend from SoCal to see the cowboys play and what's do you know they lost but we came to Otto's for some coffee after a depressing morning filled with sadness. Edgar was a great barista and filled the morning with laughs (for an eagles fan he's alright) the banana matcha latte was sooo good and the place is nice and clean and welcoming! Plus they have WiFi so we hung out for while!

    beautiful atmosphere.

My coffee was terrible, and my kolache was hard and cold. It was also way overpriced.

Cafe Duro is a must when visiting the Lower Greenville area!…read more I recently visited this amazing European-style café during breakfast on a weekday and it was amazing. Please note that parking in this area is particularly difficult but if you come in the morning, it should be easier to find. Another thing worth nothing is that they are more of a quick standing coffee bar type of place and I definitely wouldn't recommend it for families or kids, so keep that in mind when visiting. Now to the food... They have a small but mighty menu for breakfast and lunch. For my first time I decided to try their The Monte Duro, which is a pastry style "hot pocket" with smoked prosciutto, mortadella, mustard and jam. For drink I decided to go with their Dirty Chai Latte. The drink was absolutely perfection and exactly what I needed in a warm Texas morning. The Monte Duro was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor! Both my friend and I ordered the same thing and we were both obsessed with it.

The staff is not really friendly but the vibes were still peaceful. Mushroom grilled cheese: This was so yummmy!! The bread comes perfectly crispy and buttery. There were tons of mushrooms and creamy flavor. By far one of the best grilled cheeses I ever had. Banana horchata matcha: This drink was very sweet and good for people that dont like bitter drinks. I loved the banana flavor and it reminded me of banana bread. There was also a lot of cinnamon in the drink which made it so tasty.

First of all, the Bishop Arts District itself is incredibly charming. Block after block of unique shops ranging from bookstores and bakeries to candle shops, candy stores, coffee spots, and little boutiques. It's exactly the kind of neighborhood I loveeeee exploring while traveling and if I lived in Dallas, I'd probably frequent this area often. As for The Wild Detectives, the concept alone immediately appealed to me...bookstore meets cafe meets bar meets restaurant. That combination will pretty much always grab my attention. I love to read, I love to eat. The space has a pretty relaxed, community oriented vibe, and during my Saturday morning/early afternoon visit, there were plenty of people working, reading, chatting, and hanging out both inside and on the patio. My one slight disappointment was that the bookstore side itself was smaller than I expected and didn't have quite as extensive a selection as I had imagined. That said, I still managed to leave with a few great additions for my ever growing TBR pile. Overall, this was a worthwhile stop and one I may revisit the next time I'm in Dallas.
