Took 90 days and five completion date extensions to get my car back. It was returned with rodent damage of $4800 which they refuse to repair. After Joe Hudson replaced Hourglass there seems to be issues. Avoid this business. I have never posted a negative review before but being stuck with a $4800 bill that is their responsibility is too much. They collected $44,000 on the repair. read more

Zero stars was not an option unfortunately. BE AWARE, DO NOT GO HERE especially if you own a Mercedes. Brought my Mercedes to this certified autoshop as i had no choice since they are the only shop with this certification. I brought the car in for a few dents and scratches. They make you sign paperwork before they even accept your car and they use this when they try to rip you off. Fast forward NINE weeks and only one call from the account manager assigned to my vehicle (all other updates involved me calling to initiate the communication) later. They held my car hostage until i paid absurd charges not communicated at any point beyond saying there was a possibility (in the paper they make you sign before sharing any information). I specifically asked/told them not to perform any extra work without my approval, especially if it involved out-of-pocket payments from me. Beyond the extreme unprofessionalism and ineptitude of the account manager AND President of the "company", throw in rudeness (e.g. hanging up in your face, calling the customer "full of attitude", and "figure out what you owe from the numbers i gave you"), no communication, and a car that STILL has scratches (old and new). Attached are pictures AFTER the car was at the shop for 9 weeks. This is what they consider full repair, paint, and detailing... Might as well be a criminal organization. After five and a half months of having my car, I took it by my mechanic and it was not near being fixed correctly. it made a noise the moment i turned right out of the parking lot. this car was a year old. they tried to make it right, but i still ended up taking my car up there two more times. they blamed it on bmw of signing off on it-- but they did the actual work (so i don't quite understand that "logic"). anyway, take your car to Body's by Bobby. He's a smaller shop, doesn't overload his workers, and does high quality work. I used him in the past; but I decided to go with BMW's recommendation on this one. big mistake. Have had my car since August 9th 2021. Today is January 14, 2022 and I pay a lease for a 2019 BMW X7 I can't drive. Called for the last 5 weeks and finally a manager was rude and completely talked to me condescendingly. I will not return to this vendor and would not recommend anyone else to do business with them. The repairs were adequate but very slow. After dropping off my car, I heard nothing for over a week. When I called them, the salesperson seemed surprised that my car was there and had to look for it. Their phone system recording claims they won't take any more time than needed to get you back in your car. Bah! Maybe MONTHGLASS would be more accurate. On my arrival to pick up my car, the driver door handle was very loose and had far more slack before operating the latch. I mentioned this and they took my vehicle for adjustment. After a long wait of a couple of hours, they gave me back my car with this issue fixed. Perhaps due to this wait, I didn't look as closely at my car as I should have. In March I went in for a tire rotation and was notified of significant damage to the finish of the lug holes. The tire they worked on was not properly balanced and one of the lug nuts had been cross threaded. That started this series of events that brought about this review. I have contacted the company and they have failed to respond to my emails. When I went into their facility, they denied that the damage could have been caused by their tire vendor. They did offer to "clean up" the wheel to make it look better and to have the tire vendor repair the damaged lug bolt. The manager, suggested that the wheel may have been vandalized or that someone may have used an over-sized tool to try to steal the wheel. This seems to not follow the rules of logic since the only tire on the car that had the damage was the tire they worked on. The hubcentric ring was missing from the tire they worked on also, I had to buy a new one. This was highlighted to me when I took my car to have the tires rotated. They showed me the tire before they started to work on it and I took a picture of the damage to the lug holes in the wheel. I visited Hourglass hoping they would do the right thing and repair the damage. After talking to the manager, I came home and emailed him to establish the facts of our conversation and later added the company president when I got no response to my email. After a few weeks I made the assumption that I was not going to get a response. Due to this lack of interest in communicating, I replied that I would do what I needed to do to facilitate the communication. With the disruption of the Corona virus, I have been delayed in my response. The lug holes for the new wheel were significantly damaged. The tire technician told me that in his opinion, the damage was caused by using the wrong tool during installation. After being told by the manager at Hourglass that they had never seen anything like this, they would mitigate the effects of the damage. No further action was taken by Hourglass to replace the cross threaded lug stud, pay for the missing part, or to do anything about the wheel. In my opinion, this damage was caused by hourglass or their vendor. This is supported by the same type of "vandalism" being present on the wheel that was removed from the car during the repair which was returned to me since I purchased it to match the other rims. read more

I am so extremely happy with the customer service I've received from Jonathan, he has fought to get our car fixed the right way. The insurance company "farmers" tried to only give me 3,000 in repairs when the damage is well over 11,000!!! I was T-boned by a farmers customer and he claimed responsibility and all and farmers still tried to play games and rip me off, disgusting really. But hourglass especially Jonathan fought to make sure my car is going to get fixed appropriately, which I am so appreciative for, thank you for calling me with updates as well! I wasn't sure where to start when it came to finding a body shop that could do a quality job and make the process easy and painless. I initially chose them for the convenient location but was pleasantly surprised from the very beginning with how easy they understood the red tape that the insurance company wanted to go through and their willingness to accommodate me. Last,but certainly not least,the quality of the work they performed was incredible. This is by far the worse experience I have ever had repairing a car. There were delays upon delays, I was repeatedly lied to about the status of the car, phone calls were not returned, and the owner seemed to only care about getting paid, never apologized for his employees behavior. It would have been quicker to ship my car back to to Germany to get fixed than the time it took at Hourglass. If I had an option I wouldn't even give this place one star. If I could give zero stars I would. This has been THE WORST experience I have ever had with any business in my life. It took them more than 5 months to fix my car, it was not even totaled....I drove it in there. They never called from 2/28 until 8/3, I am saying not even one phone call, I left multiple messages. Jonathan is incompetent and the manager is inexperienced, as far as customer service.....non existent. I will contact the BBB and the licensing agency of their business. This business should be closed down for practicing unethical service. This place has the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. It was like pulling teeth to get anyone to even call me back to update me about the status of my vehicle. The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional and did not have any explanation when asked in person what the delays had been and why they kept my car an entire month after they said it would be done. we were told we would get the car back in four days. After four days they had not even started on it. After that time we got a different story about the status of the repairs every time we called. They ended up keeping the car for two weeks to repair rear bumper and side panel portion. We had used the Hourglass facility on Harvard in the past and had good results. We would not recommend the location on 61st St. however. We are giving it two stars instead of one because the repairs look fine. read more
