The woman working the closing shift on 9/13 could really use an attitude check. My group and I stopped in to pick up some brews on our way to Chimacum. One person from our group used the restroom while we looked at the selection, but ultimately we decided not to purchase anything because the options were disappointing. As we were leaving, the woman made a snarky comment about the bathrooms being for "paying customers only." I understand that businesses sometimes deal with people coming in just to use the facilities, but that wasn't the case here--we genuinely came in with the intention to buy. Her comment and overall attitude left a bad impression on our entire group. Safe to say we won't be coming back. read more

I appreciate it when we discover taprooms that do not allow disruptive parents to bring their bothersome children.

Our visit was disappointing. My group came in hoping to enjoy a drink but were met with an unwelcoming attitude from the staff. Similar to other reviews, we were treated with an assumption that we were underage and trying to "sneak in." The interaction felt dismissive and demeaning, which set a negative tone and made us not want to stay. Based on other reviews, this seems to be a recurring issue which is concerning. read more

Another great surprise when visiting Point Gamble, this is a house converted to a beautiful taproom for beer, wine, ciders, and food. Cute seating inside both upstairs and downstairs, but with the beautiful sunny weather, who could resist seating on the benches in the surrounding lawn? Enjoying the cool ocean breeze and sipping on a delicious blackberry sage cider, great way to enjoy a unhurried afternoon. Service was great and very knowledgeable on the history and the house. What a great place to stop in and enjoy the vibe of the historical town of Port Gamble. Excellent food great beers and ciders on tap as well as wines. Waitress (owner?) refused us a draft sample despite calling themselves a "taproom" (we were purchasing beers and wine), refused to top off a pour, and hesitated to provide extra napkins. I am so happy to have stumbled across this place after being very disappointed by the vegetarian options at the local "everyone goes here" place. We were very pleased to find several options for both of us, and we really enjoyed the beet sandwich. We made our way upstairs into an unexpected space and discovered couch and chairs, a video game we could play, art, games, and a space that felt comfortable. My Grandma wanted to stop here for a beer and a bite to eat. It's pretty cute on the inside, but we found ourselves waiting for close to five minutes with no staff to be found. Once the staff popped out, we were immediately met with hostility and an angry attitude from her. The first thing she said to us was "Ummm this is 21 and over, no minors can be here". I was a little confused and responded in a friendly tone "Oh my mom and I won't be ordering anything, we just came with my Grandma, who had a question about one of the beers". That seemed to have triggered her even more because then she pointed to the door and said "Nope I'm going to have to ask you to leave". Then it dawned on me she thought I was under 21 and trying to ~sneak in~. So, I pulled out my ID, handed it to her, and said "Well, I'm 24...". Then as she took it from me, she looked at me laughed in a rude tone and then said "Oh SWEETIE, please" and rolled her eyes. She then looked at it, slid my driver's license back to me after seeing I was indeed, 24, and proceeded to coldly ring up my 90 year old grandmother who did absolutely nothing wrong :( I was astounded by the unprofessional and inappropriate customer service. It's pretty bad to not greet your customers, but to not politely ask for ID, and to try to belittle someone is inexcusable. This incident happened September of 2021 and to this day it still deeply bothers me so much that I finally decided to write a review. read more

I've been hearing about this new wine bar/taproom for a few weeks and have been dying to give it a try. After a long day of exploring the Olympics, we passed through Port Gamble on our way home and I convinced D to stop for a quick glass of wine and a looksee. We each had a pour of Rioja Blanco and the Umami Bomb popcorn. Both were excellent choices. We settled downstairs in some very comfy chairs and commenced to play checkers and to enjoy our stay. It would be great to see a few more games on the charming built in bookshelves. But of course, then we'd stay all day! Upstairs there are two adorable rooms: one with sofas and a turntable for all of your vinyl listening, social drinking needs, and one with a table large enough for a rousing dinner with friends or a productive community meeting. This taproom is a hidden gem! The owners are lovely and have created a comfortable, welcoming environment. They always are rotating what they have on tap and you'll be sure to taste a variety of beer, cider or organic wine that you won't find anywhere else. We're always excited to stop here for a chat and to see what's new in the taproom any time we are in Port Gamble. If you're passing through or if you are coming to spend an afternoon visiting the shops and having a bite to eat in the area, do yourself a favor and visit this establishment! Note: they are not able to accommodate children due to their particular liquor license but they have a wonderful takeaway selection for those who are unable to enjoy a beverage on premises. I was here when they opened. The wine staff was super friendly. But the owner/partner was very unfriendly. Ok, first day, I get it. Visiting later, the staff and food was great--amazing!!!! But because of covid, the owner/partner is now behind behind the bar and it is extremely evident that she hates people and serving wine. Also, food is no longer served. We love House 11 Taproom! Its a unique, chill spot that quickly became one of our favorites. I like cider, my partner likes beer and there's always something new and fun on tap for both of us to try. I definitely recommend sitting outside when the weather is nice- soak in the sunshine and enjoy Port Gamble. On colder days, head upstairs and check out the seating on the 2nd floor- a really cool private space to hang out with friends. The staff are really nice. Which was dirty and full of crumbs we had to brush aside when we sat down. Why did we tip them if we had to bus our own table? Lame. Not worth the aggravation. Won't be back and cannot recommend. She chases all their customers away. (So exclusive.) House 11 is so unique even the county treats them special. House 11 is so exclusive they're the only bar/restaurant/brewery on the entire west coast of the American continent that couldn't figure out how to do outdoor dining that accommodates everyone. It is hot out, but their seating area outside is nice and cool. The selection of beer and wine is wonderful and the food is outstanding. I finally dropped by this place in the cute little alcove of Port Gamble and I gave me the "meh" vibes. It could be a bit more "hoppin" as I have seen boozy rural outposts such as these around here take off and have a loyal following. I think part of that is having a welcoming atmosphere. A great place stop when passing Port Gamble. House 11 is right on the corner. They have great beers, cider and wine and champagne. There is great indoor and upstairs seating. In the summer outdoor seating is awesome. The owners are very special people, and provide the best service. And you have to check out the menu! A very neat new taproom in Port Gamble that's well worth a visit! They recently opened two months prior to my visit today and I was very impressed. The space was tastefully renovated and very comfortable. They had a nice selection of local draft beers with a bottle/can room for those who might prefer an alternative to the tap list. They had a limited snack selection but the mole-verde popcorn was a quite tasty unique treat go with our brews. They said currently you can bring in outside food because they don't have a food service beyond snacks. In the future they said they do plan to offer small plates of food, which I'm looking forward to trying. I definitely plan on coming back sometime soon to hang and play some games with family and friends. read more
