Our cats nails had grown incredibly long and were always difficult for my partner and I to trim. I called Joan and she told me I could come in today to have their nails trimmed. They only care for money, please look at the pictures attached before deciding to book here! My pet was left with several scabs due to improper grooming, which she NEVER happened before. Feathering wasn't cut as asked for. Only the feathering/long hair on my dogs hind legs were. My pet dog was left white, which was good. They added a miniature .5inch bow tie. Skimped us on adding a scarf in him which most groomers do. I'll probably have to take my dog to ANOTHER groomer within a month or so unfortunately. They charged 80 dollars. You can tell them what to do, and they won't listen and you won't receive your dog as expected. For 20 dollars and shampoo, a little kid could've done a better job. Please stay away! read more

We have gone a few times but only for a quick nail clipping. I usually call up the owner to make sure she's available but nail clipping is just a walk in service. She is able to rangel our fiesty cat and successfully clip the nails in a matter of minutes. Cost for the service is also only $5 read more

I have been taking my dog for haircuts at Clip and Dip for close to 2 years now and we have always had a great experience up until now. It breaks my heart to write this but I don't want this to happen to any other dog! We brought our dog in for a haircut and she was returned to us bleeding and covered in scratches and what appeared to be razor burn. That night, she did not sleep, she cried all night and was sincerely uncomfortable and in pain. We ended up having to take her to the vet and $200 later she is now on antibiotics for the cuts from her haircut as they were worried of infection based on the cytology findings. I would really like to think that this is a one off situation but I can no longer trust bringing my dog here and having this happen again. I contacted Joan to inform her that this had happened and offered to send her the pictures, but she only wanted to see them the next time that we come in, which we unfortunately will not be doing due to these circumstances. She did apologize, but failed to take accountability for what had happened and insisted that it must have been brush marks. Brushing a dog should not cause bleeding and marks to this extent (please see photos). read more

We just moved to Boston and had no idea with any groomers here. We picked this place because it had decent reviews on Yelp. We have a 43lb Samoyed. We have tried different groomers in our old town but he always shed a lot after grooming. This time we were surprised that he did not shed at all after we picked him up. His fur also looked super soft and shiny after grooming. I guess it might because they used better shampoo or brushed him well. They also tied a cute bow on him. read more

Average wash, nothing spectacular about the services offered. Owner/manager did fit in both our dogs on a Saturday with a last minute wash.

We moved to Medford during a pandemic and my dog was desparate for a groom. I called around and found they were open! We booked an appointment for the following week. The ladies were incredibly warm and sweet when I dropped off my dog. My fiance picked him up and they had tied a little bow on him. They listened to all my concerns and made sure he was perfect. Joan is wonderful. She has done a fantastic job grooming our little Ragdoll kitten. She does a perfect job with his long coat - washing / brushing / drying. Also does a little trim around his feet and butt. She does all the cats in the morning and has them out before the dogs come in the afternoon...so it is a nice, non-scary experience for our kitty. I'm truthfully amazed and absolutely in love with the work done for my first time bringing Kobe. I'm well aware of how challenging It can be to groom Kobe. Within in the last 4 months, I struggled with finding a groomer to complete a haircut with him because of his anxiety, he tends to be fresh. His knots kept getting worse and worse with the more time went on. I feared I was going to have go to a vet and do a sedated shave just to finally get him back to normal which can be very expensive and also cause health complications. I really had lost all hope, since other groomers told me that was my best option for a dog like him. But then I found Clip and Dip! And boy am I so happy I did. I adopted an indoor cat about a year ago, but was never bothered to cut her nails as shes very fussy and refuses to let anyone touch her paws. We have a large cat tower with lots of rope so she mainly groomed her nails with that. I recently moved to a new place in the area that has lots of wood panels along door ways, and along the floor. Luna, my cat has started to climb said door ways like a tree, instead of her cat tower. We also noticed she's been super playful with the larger place, and have started to play a bit rough with our legs so we decided to bring her in for a trim. I found Clip & Dip on Yelp and called ahead to make an appointment, but they said nail trims are quick and can be walk ins. We arrived mid day Saturday, the shop was busy with mainly dogs, but they were all calm and well taken care of. We were also assisted right away which was great, though I didn't catch the name of the lady. The technician was great, she handled Luna like a pro, and had a firm but gentle hand while my cat tried to squirm away. The whole process took about 5 mins, probably less than that. We were thankful that it was quick, with as little pain as possible. Some downsides: Cash or check only, no dedicated parking, although there are plenty of street parking spots, it is a bit small and the shop was busy that day, so we actually had the service in the waiting area, which was a bit weird since there were other customers waiting there watching us while we tried to hold down my crazy cat. This place isn't anything fancy, but you can tell that the techs are good at their job and have lots of experience. They did a task in 5 mins that would've probably costed me 3 hours + battle scars. I recommend this place and will come again . read more

This is the best place in the world to have your dog groomed. My dog Puddles has been going here since he got his first grooming at 6 months. Joan is so kind with my dog, always remembers his name and makes him look fantastic! She even let's me know if she sees any type of rash or bite etc that dogs get, to keep me in the loop. This past Christmas season, she sent him home with a Christmas gift. She always gives him a seasonal ribbon or bandana as well for a finishing touch. Our large-ish (70 lbs) dog had a bad experience with nail clipping as a puppy so was super skittish whenever anyone tried to the point of PetCo grooming throwing in the towel. He was really in need of a trim. I love clip and dip, I take my Pomeranian here every few months to have her groomed. The owner is very nice and I feel safe leaving my fur baby with her. She is usually done in 2 hours. I prefer this place after some inconsistent service at a chain store groomer. This is always consistent and the place feels very homey seeing as it's attached to the house. read more

I used to bring my cat princess to the vets to get her nails clipped and they would have to put her to sleep to clip her freakin nails because she has a red flag on her file for the vet. However when I went here, and she did her nails WITH NO PROBLEM I was shocked. My cat wasent even that bad. I was like what!?! My cat gave her problems but it wasent nothing she couldn't handle. I was so happy and pissed. I was happy because I found someone to do her nails and do a good job ( she also grooms my dog me cats) I was pissed because the vet had to put her to sleep for no reason! Our dog is old... like beyond old... he could be one of the oldest dogs north of Boston. He gets horrible tear stains and a long time ago, he had a bad grooming experience in Savannah where the "groomer" cut him and he needed stitches (too bad Yelp wasn't around then). Our incredibly smart poodle hasn't forgotten that horrible time and he has gotten really stressed out with other groomers, to the point where he would growl and they couldn't get him as clean as he could be. Joan and her team are really sensitive to this and have a really nice way of calming him and he has always come back perfectly groomed, tear stain free and more importantly, stress free. They were incredibly busy, which is always a good sign, but she was able to get us in with an appointment with one day's notice. Not the most expensive and not the least expensive grooming, but the fact that our older dog was able to not get stressed by the experience... well worth it! Wish parking were easier around the shop, but all in all, a positive experience for us! read more

This place is awesome! I inherited a little, black shih tzu doggy from my mother. He was in pretty gross shape, had knots in several places on his body, smelled god awful and his nails needed to be trimmed, desperately. My fiance brought our Baby boy Guinness to be groomed at Clip and Dip. I couldn't believe what he came home to. It was such a transformation, like I had another dog all together.
