At times she was rude, but I figured it was due to being busy. The taco bar and steak were the only food everyone loved. I shy away from writing bad reviews of businesses but for the very expensive cost of the catering and terrible food I had to write a review. The baked salmon was horrible. It seemed like they used frozen salmon. It wasn't seasoned good either! It was supposed to be with lemon and mayo with some seasonings, but it only had salt and pepper on top of the salmon. The asparagus and other veggies were soggy. It seemed again like it was frozen veggies that were used. The fruits were not fresh. They were prepped more than a day or so old. The presentation of the fruit tower was terrible! My husband and I are big foodies and the food was a total disappointment to us. Really felt like money was wasted. We were also told the staff was rude to our guests. The leftover food was taken by us and some families, but were not eaten 'cause of how badly it tasted. Plus, the staff is constantly refilling plates, so there's never an empty one. I especially love too that for the events, they make a cocktail, themed to the event where proceeds go to the animal fund we're supporting at the event! Amazing. When I walked in every host was friendly and greeted me warmly. The space they chose to host their tasting was large and spacious, minimally yet tastefully decorated. The staff were absolutely impressive. They were kind yet subtle. You barely noticed them shifting in and out to clear dishes or serve additional food. I was also impressed with just how organized and attention to detail they were. Barely any plates were left behind from the event even though people were randomly leaving them in awkward places. As far as the office staff is concerned they were just as exceptional. I was truly impressed with their work and they color coded our names to match who we had been corresponding with, which I just thought was beyond brilliant. I've had the pleasure to work with Annalee, and she took time to answer questions even in a room full of other guest. She really made me feel 1:1 with her. LETS TALK FOOD!!! I know that's what you're here for!!! As you saw from the photos the buffet was beautiful displayed and the style they chose was perfect for doing a double sided buffet to get everyone through quickly. The hors d'oeuvres- I reallllllly loved the apricot & prosciutto canapé! I wanted to eat (5) of them!!! They kept going quickly as well! Tad small in size, it's truly a bite size taste. As far as the salmon fouetté.... not my thing. It had a strong salmon flavor. I did however enjoy the corn cake! Now that I was truly impressed with! It was just as corn cake should be! The salad- Not over dresses, but this particular salad was a touch sweet. However that is the nature of the style salad and I absolutely it. The lemon Orzo- personally I was not a fan of this. The taste was fine and the pasta seemed to be cooked well. However I don't always care for lemon, which could just be my personal preference. The mediterranean Mezzé - very traditional. Presented absolutely beautifully. Everything was very yummy from what I got to try. The Local Seasonal Vegetable- delightful! For winter it can always be hard to get local vegetables and have a combo that works. But these were done very nicely. It was a combination of beets, carrots,& red peppers. All of which were cooked nicely. The carrots to me were crunchier then I was expecting, yet I enjoyed the contracts. The Mediterranean Inspired Chicken- this was intriguing to say the least. The first time I tried it I didn't know if I liked it or not. The chicken however was nicely done. When I went to try it again I did enjoy it, so maybe it was because I was trying so many different things? Again, the second time I tried it, the chicken was done very well. Not bad for buffet style! Seriously! It wasn't done well, not chewy or inedible. This was a big thing for me as I HATE buffet chicken usually due to how dry it can be. This was not that! The mashed potatoes- YUM YUM YUM!!!!!! I said if these arnt good then we can't go with them because I NEED mashed potatoes at my wedding..... damn they were good. They also went the fasted. I couldn't ever get a good shot of them! So in the spirt to showing you how good they are, the photo speaks for itself. Now For my biggest dish and the whole reason I went (plus the mash) The Braised Oregon Country Short Ribs in a Malbec reduction.......... Wow Wow WOW!!! This was so delicious. I'm drooling as I write this part. The meat was tender and falling apart. The sauce was reduced just right and there was enough but not to much. It covered a lot of the meat. This really set my decision in stone. It was very very good. I wanted a dish at my wedding that people wouldn't forget and I don't this they will forget this I'm the best way possible! I'm originally from Pennsylvania and we are a meat and potatoes type of wedding (with very dry chicken and way to many homemade cookies) When my guest come, I want them to be impressed with the food they flew 3,000 miles to eat. We had our annual event on October 8th at the Edmonds Waterfront Center with Shooby Doo catering as…read morethe food vendor. The Waterfront Center has them as an exclusive contract so we had no choice but to use this caterer. We signed up with them back in 2020 believing that we would have an in-person event in 2021 but the Delta virus made us have to do a virtual event. Shooby-doo refused to refund our significant down-payment, so we were stuck with them for a future opportunity. Which we utilized them, as I said, on October 8th 2022. The tasting that we did those years ago was absolutely wonderful. The food was quite delicious. And that team worked with us to make sure that we would have a really good selection of food items to meet all pallets, allergies, and so forth. Thus, the food is quite expensive. The major issue that we had with this company is that we are a non-profit organization and have to abide by state guidelines in regard to serving alcohol. It was almost impossible to work with Scooby-Doo on this issue because they had really bad information that they kept telling us was accurate. It was not good. It took weeks on end to finally get them to deal with the state directly and understand that we were correct and we would not do anything that would potentially jeopardize our nonprofit status. In the end it was resolved well but the frustration that we were put through is still something that has a scab on the wound. One expects for someone who is providing a service that particularly has to meet state guidelines would know what they are doing and what they are talking about. And not asking us to work in a gray area. And that's what we were told over and over again. "Just work in the gray area", but like I said it was finally resolved. One other minor thing that was aggravating but we dealt with quickly was them wanting us to get more alcohol than we needed. We got what we knew we needed and still had a few bottles left over. And the only other minor aggravation was they didn't know their full contract the evening of when everything was said and done. They thought we were supposed to be out of the building at 10:00 p.m. but we were actually scheduled to be out by midnight. Again it got resolved but it was something else to add to a more stressful moment in time. Now on to the good stuff: The night of the event was extraordinary. Their employees had everything set up in advance as it was supposed to be and the venue looked amazing. They were so friendly, accommodating, and easy to work with. They literally catered to our every need asking questions along the way to make sure that we were satisfied before our guests even arrived. The staff members were amazing. The food was out of the ballpark extraordinary. People absolutely loved the food. We had a double-sided buffet in order to make things would go smooth and quickly. I'm glad we opted for that rather than having them serve the dishes. It worked well. I'm absolutely sure that we would never use Shooby Doo again for our agency events, because of the massive issues we had with them in the beginning. However, I do think they would be good for things that are not related to being a non-profit: Like weddings, birthdays, small corporation celebrations, and such. If you're considering Shooby Doo to cater your nonprofit organization, be careful, be warned, and make sure you check everything, especially the legality around alcohol service. Also, know and monitor the contract so that you know exactly what's in it. While the service was excellent the night of, and the food was extraordinary, the price tag on this event was far more than we anticipated. We recognize that food costs are up and inflation is a nightmare but this is a very expensive catering service. Scooby-Doo gets a five star on the food quality and the evening of service. They get a one star on the knowledge on working with nonprofits, or at least with our non-profit. They get a negative 5 for not allowing us to get our down-payment back when the Delta virus came and shut everything down for everyone. I feel they should have offered it back with perhaps a small penalty but they did not so we were forced to have to use them a couple years later. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous. I told them that I would give an honest review. And this review is that.

Despite hearing positive feedback about them, we were disappointed with both the service and the pricing. While the food itself was satisfactory, the service fell short of our expectations. The staff, particularly the head staff member, displayed below-average professionalism and a snarky attitude. Additionally, the setup did not align with what was agreed upon and promised beforehand. Despite planning for 90 guests, the seating arrangements only accommodated 64, causing inconvenience and dissatisfaction among attendees. During the event, the catering staff were conspicuously absent, leaving us to pick up the slack and handle tasks that should have been their responsibility. Adding to our frustration was the unexpected 23% additional fee, which the catering company failed to justify adequately. When questioned about this fee, we were met with vague explanations about covering costs, which left us feeling misled because they also leave room for minimum of 16% tip that must be paid BEFORE experiencing their service. You do the math. Overall, while the venue itself was stunning, the experience with Shooby Doo catering staff left a lot to be desired. The combination of subpar service, unexplained fees, and high pricing makes it difficult to recommend their services to others. You still have to use them if you have an event at the Waterfront. Don't get the chocolate cookies, or the deviled eggs on toast. If you go for the fruit plate, this cost us $1,710 plus tax. ($19 a person). The empanadas were yummy, the beef sliders were finished, and people complimented the salmon in puff pastry.

Found these guys at Golden Gardens on Saturday 7-13…read more Beautiful day, 74F the beach was packed and they were catering at one of the BBQ pits. They had parked their jeep and trailer completely blocking all the motorcycle parking at the park, blocked in about 15 motorcycles between the dumpsters and the parked cars, no one could park and those parked could not leave. I asked the guy unloading how long he would be and he told me he wasn't moving until 7pm. I asked if he was just blocking all the bikes in until then and blocking the parking from everyone else on a sunny Saturday and he said "I guess so" and walked away. I called the number on the truck thinking perhaps the owner had been forced to hire an inbred nephew and had no idea that he was behaving this way. I was wrong, he too did not care about the issues he was causing for any motorcyclist coming to the park and when I asked him why he felt this was OK he simply said "hey I'm trying to run a business OK". For the rest if the afternoon everyone who wanted to leave had to try to walk their bike out across the lawn or wedge past the trailer and jeep while the guys from Best Catering sat 20' away making BBQ. By 8pm all but one motorcycle had managed to get out but none could park there, the jeep and catering trailer were still there and I had to move the public dumpster they had filled with catering garbage, to get my bike out. There is a review of them on the Judy's book website describing how the same catering truck and trailer nearly ran a woman off the road and screamed abusive things at her, her husband and their baby - well done guys. I can't tell you what their BBQ is like but I can tell you that Best Catering is run by some if the most self centered people I have met and I would choose any other caterer before hiring such narcissistic people to work my event.
