At times she was rude, but I figured it was due to being busy. The taco bar and steak were the only food everyone loved. I shy away from writing bad reviews of businesses but for the very expensive cost of the catering and terrible food I had to write a review. The baked salmon was horrible. It seemed like they used frozen salmon. It wasn't seasoned good either! It was supposed to be with lemon and mayo with some seasonings, but it only had salt and pepper on top of the salmon. The asparagus and other veggies were soggy. It seemed again like it was frozen veggies that were used. The fruits were not fresh. They were prepped more than a day or so old. The presentation of the fruit tower was terrible! My husband and I are big foodies and the food was a total disappointment to us. Really felt like money was wasted. We were also told the staff was rude to our guests. The leftover food was taken by us and some families, but were not eaten 'cause of how badly it tasted. I wish I listened to my husband to search for more catering company before deciding on this one.

After a frustrating experience with a non-catered wedding, I decided to try Shannon (a word-of-mouth recommendation) for a 150-person wedding at the end of August. Her business is new this year, but her experience and skill have been well-earned at VERY prominent local restaurants. Faced with a picky bride who wanted organic, local, sustainably-harvested fare, and a very diverse crowd, Shannon kept her cool and guided our experience from beginning to end. She researched and constructed our flavor profile, we tasted and debated, and laughed, and ate well for months leading up to the event. There were so many unknowns and last minute wedding issues, but nobody ever questioned how the food would turn out. It was perfect, just like we expected, bountiful and fresh and appealing. Our guests were thrilled. Think catering is just about the food, though? I was under that impression for a while,but I realize a caterer is the one person at your wedding who has totally done this before. Seen it, done it, knows what to expect. Several times, I was close to losing my cool about the to-do lists I made for myself. Shannon would just tell me - "Hey, that's not worth worrying about. I know how to handle it. I've got it." And she did. And a bonus was she employs hard-working local actors and dancers as staff, which sort of made me a patron of the arts, too. Her staff is always poised, professional, and fabulous! I was blown away, and I also realized, with all the money I spend on ingredients and tools for the few times I try and have a dinner party at my house, I could just have Shannon do it. She does things so efficiently, it's actually a better value and much less stressful to have her cook for 10 people than for me to run around stressing out, not spending time with my guests, and ending up with a dirty kitchen. Plus she cooked for one of my favorite restaurants for years and comes up with recipes I don't know how to pull off. Found these guys at Golden Gardens on Saturday 7-13…read more Beautiful day, 74F the beach was packed and they were catering at one of the BBQ pits. They had parked their jeep and trailer completely blocking all the motorcycle parking at the park, blocked in about 15 motorcycles between the dumpsters and the parked cars, no one could park and those parked could not leave. I asked the guy unloading how long he would be and he told me he wasn't moving until 7pm. I asked if he was just blocking all the bikes in until then and blocking the parking from everyone else on a sunny Saturday and he said "I guess so" and walked away. I called the number on the truck thinking perhaps the owner had been forced to hire an inbred nephew and had no idea that he was behaving this way. I was wrong, he too did not care about the issues he was causing for any motorcyclist coming to the park and when I asked him why he felt this was OK he simply said "hey I'm trying to run a business OK". For the rest if the afternoon everyone who wanted to leave had to try to walk their bike out across the lawn or wedge past the trailer and jeep while the guys from Best Catering sat 20' away making BBQ. By 8pm all but one motorcycle had managed to get out but none could park there, the jeep and catering trailer were still there and I had to move the public dumpster they had filled with catering garbage, to get my bike out. There is a review of them on the Judy's book website describing how the same catering truck and trailer nearly ran a woman off the road and screamed abusive things at her, her husband and their baby - well done guys. I can't tell you what their BBQ is like but I can tell you that Best Catering is run by some if the most self centered people I have met and I would choose any other caterer before hiring such narcissistic people to work my event.
