I took my Rue De Seine wedding dress from Unbridaled to Diane (everyone Unbridaled offered was booked through May-October) and she did an UNREAL job on my dress! She's from New York & you can tell in her skill! She has hand-drawn dress sketches on her wall in her studio, dresses in the work-in-progress stage, she is AMAZING. Diane is the lady I've been telling all my friends about when they're getting married & need an alterations specialist for their dress: DIANE IS THE ONE. She altered my $5,000 dress in BARELY two weeks for my wedding date on 4/17. As you can see from the pictures below, she added the wrist restraint for my train as well as a bustle for my train, to attach to my dress after the ceremony. Ok, so I never thought that one of my favorite wedding vendors would be the person who did my wedding dress alterations. But I can barely BEGIN to sing Diana's praises! I came to her with a pretty botched dress. I had tried on a dress I fell in love with at a trunk show, only to get the final piece in that was...different than what I had paid for. It was about a foot too long and inches too big. The proportions were really off. The pretty bow that tied onto the shoulder strap was not the expected material. I was slightly worried this dress was not going to be workable. And then, thanks to the genius she is, and after a couple of fittings, the dress I fell in love with reappeared!!!! Including the addition of a whole new beautiful bow in the right material, with the right look. The transformation was SIGNIFICANT. Diana made me feel validated that my dress was, in fact, really not what I signed up for, and remained really positive about the whole situation, while also managing expectations really well. Her studio is super cute, the work she committed to between fittings was always complete in time, and working with her was just super easy in general. She also helped alter a jumpsuit I will be wearing to my reception, which was also a fairly complex situation, and turned out AWESOME. I had my first fitting with Diana Deane on May 19. This appointment went smoothly, She adjusted and pinned my dress which should have resulted in a custom fitted dress. I paid for the first half, plus tip and left confident in her ability. My final fitting on June 16 is where things went south. I tried on my dress and was happy except for the hip area which contained an angle instead of a rounded seam. This is where the adjustment and original seam met. I brought this to her attention and she agreed that the dress could be taken in a bit. I waited while she made these adjustments. This time I left with a dress that was a bit too tight. The dress now contained rusching/ripples in the front which she told me was because I needed "sit room". I then tried to sit In the dress but had a hard time and even needed her help getting up. She told me that this was because her couch sat low. I trusted her judgement as a professional and took the dress home. When I got home I tried to sit on a higher chair but still couldnt. I immediately sent an email and we followed up with a phone call the following Monday. Her website states that she charges for alterations that need to be redone because of weight or size fluctuations or work asked to be done against recommendation. Neither of these were the situation with my dress it was simply that she had taken the dress in too much. While explaining the issue she dismissed me saying she did not want to talk about what was said but rather what she could do now. She let me know that my options were to leave the dress as is or pay her to let the dress out and it would look exactly as it did before, which also was incorrect. I ended up taking my dress to another seamstress only to find out that she had sewn the hip area in a straight line, rather than a curve which would accommodate the natural curve of a womans hip. Also my dress is a mermaid dress. She also discovered there was a hole in the Seam which could have potentially ripped on my wedding day. I would not, under any circumstances recommend you leave the fate of such an important day up to chance. In the event you do, I would caution you to be very clear about what you want and do not leave the shop until you get it or you will be highly disappointed, which was the terrible mistake I made. read more

Diana did all the alterations on my wedding gown as well as my mom's dress for my wedding and did an incredible job! My dress was a floor model, so it had quite a bit of wear-and-tear - the buttons in the back had to be completely re-done and it had a lot (a LOT!!) of intricate beading with many beads having come undone. Diana made the dress look completely brand new. Having a very large bust, I was worried that I would feel uncomfortable in a dress with such a deep V, but Diana altered it in a way that looked very flattering and felt so comfortable. In addition to altering my gown, Diana created a custom-made hairpiece using parts of the hairpiece my mom wore to her wedding. It came out so unique and gorgeous, and looked better than I could have imagined. Diana brought my dress vision to life. I bought a Reem Acra wedding dress on Shopbop for $900 and wanted some beautiful beaded straps attached and an asymmetrical hem cut into the tulle. The original dress came with an attached belt which was causing bulk & some issues with the zipper. Diana worked with me for over an hour to figure out a solution. She was about to send me home without the dress so she could figure out a way to make it work -- At which point, I asked her to remove the belt -- it was PERFECT. If she hadn't been patient and worked with me for so long, I'm not sure if we would have discovered this! After going through months worth of two to three rounds of revisions, I ended up taking the original sample dress. - Diana was able to take my sample dress multiple sizes down to fit me - no problem, and fast! The boutique owner didn't even know if it was possible! - After listening to my wedding day itinerary, Diana suggested and added a wristlet loop to my skirt, which came in so clutch throughout the day! I didn't wanna give them 2 stars but honestly I'm so desapointed. I took my wedding dress to get altered because the body was too tight, especially the underarm so that I couldn't even raise my arm. To fix this they altered the shoulder area instead of letting out the side but now its slightly too big. I showed my mom who is a tailor and she said this was the wrong fix and the seams are poorly done as well. Also to fix the sleeve being tight in the forearm they added material to make the whole sleeve much wider, in a very obvious and (according to my mom) amateurish way. I understand if the alterations were difficult because of original lace material but they should have told me instead of charging so much and doing a poor job that I will have to have fixed elsewhere. I feel like they didn't take my alterations seriously and I would not go back or recommend. read more

I was looking to do some unorthodox things to my wedding dress (dip-dye it orange) and I knew I couldn't take it to just anyone. I came to her with a difficult job -- the designer I used for my wedding dress delivered a subpar product (the measurements were wrong, the straps were too tight, the workmanship was shoddy, and more), and I had only four weeks time to fix it all. Enter Diana. She gave me a very honest assessment of the work that needed to be done, and then went a step further to consult with the designer to ensure she understood the materials she was working with. Just two weeks later, I had my dream dress back, all thanks to Diana's skill. (Even more, she made --- with my buy-in -- her own creative additions to the dress, which made it even better than before.) Diana is honest, kind, truthful, focused, and a true expert at her craft. In an industry that can very easily rip people off, Diana is one of the good ones (maybe the only good one?). She's a dream to work with and clearly so passionate about what she does. Diana is magic. Her studio is beautiful and clean and btw, she designs her own dresses and I wish I had known that before I bought my own dress. Even so, I bought my dream dress off of pre-owned and it needed to be brought in 2-3 sizes (the dress was a size 10 and I'm normally a street size 4, though probably more like a 2 for my wedding). Diana made me feel totally at ease throughout the process, which was difficult for me to feel as a bride. But Diana comes from a background of having worked as a bridal seamstress for years before starting her own thing, and she brings her own eye and expertise to your dress. She made the bustle a three point bustle without my asking (or knowing what it was to even ask for it!) but it was absolutely the right call. I wanted alterations to my dress that made me feel sexy and yet just like myself rather than like the unrealistic images of models in wedding dresses out there these days. She suggested alterations that maintained both the integrity of my dress and the vision I had, and let me tell you - your dress is absolutely in good hands with her. Her demeanor inspires confidence and ease. She worked her magic with a great attitude over 3 sessions and the cost was similar to market price in NYC. I just had my first alterations appointment with her and ...can I say that it was one of the best things to happen in my wedding planning process? First of all, I reached out to a couple of people on Yelp with a picture of my wedding dress, and asked for a quote. I decided to finally go see her because even with my questions she consistently responded right away, gave me a great affordable estimate, had raving reviews, and had an easy scheduling process on her website. The moment I stepped into her workspace, I was so surprised by the tranquility of her studio. It was clean and organized with touches of flowers and plants that enhanced my experience as they brought color to her workspace. She was so attentive and listened to all my ideas, concerns, and requests. I could tell she's an expert at what she does by her responses, creativity, and including me in on what she was doing. I loved listening to the soft music playing in the background in my wedding dress and let her work her magic.
