Diana is absolutely amazing and I am so beyond grateful that I found her. I was so nervous about making a wrong decision on who to have make the alterations for my dress. My dress has tons of lace and detailing so I was concerned it would be difficult to alter. It is a big decision, but I could not have made a better one!!! Diana was so nice, professional and easy to work with through the alterations process. She gave me great advice that also helped with my wedding day shoes & accessories. I always knew that having something altered could make a difference, but wow.. seeing that process in action is insane. My dress was always beautiful but once Diana worked her magic my dress was beautiful ON ME. It complemented my body perfectly and fit perfectly and comfortably all night!!! If you need to have your wedding dress altered you NEED to work with Diana, she is so talented.

This review is long over due, but I had to leave it... Diana altered my wedding dress for my June 1, 2019 wedding.. and it fit so amazing !! First off, her storefront had such a great vibe and decor, I knew I would love Diana as well. She's such a breath of fresh air, that understands a women's body and how a dress show fit. I'm more than happy how the alterations came out, I was very excited to wear my dress on our wedding day !!

After attempting to take my weddding dresses (I had two) for alterations at a few different places I was beginning to feel deflated. It was either way out of budget or the person performing the alterations didnt make me feel comfortable. That definitely was not the case here! I had my alterations done by Maira and she was heaven sent. I was so stressed about planning a destination wedding and my dress not fitting properly since I have big hips and a small chest but she made me feel reassured and the alterations came out STUNNING. Again I had two dresses; one with a lot of lace and bead work and the other with a lot of rips at the skirt (I bought it from a sample sale), both fit perfectly. If you visit be sure to book an appointment, the shop itself is beautiful and relaxing and the staff (shout out again to Maira) are so amazing!

I am so happy I chose House of Deane to alter my wedding dress! At every stage of the tailoring process I was impressed with Diana's skill and communication. When I first sent an inquiry about hiring her via text, Diana quickly returned a list of suggested alterations and an estimate for their cost, all from looking at a photo of me in my dress. (This remote service was super appreciated in the pandemic in particular.) In person at my fittings (in her lovely studio), Diana was so kind and patient, and I felt like she really took the time to listen to which changes I wanted to make. She ended up hemming the dress, adding a bustle, and adjusting the off-the-shoulder sleeves to better fit my arms. Each of the alterations looked so natural, like they were originally part of the dress. Diana's turnaround times were also impressive, and she was able to hold onto the dress for me until a couple of days before the wedding for a small fee. (This was super appreciated because the dress was big and would otherwise have been hard to hide from my groom.) Definitely bring your dress to House of Deane if you're looking for a wedding tailor who is competent, friendly, fast, and responsive. I couldn't be happier with my dress and her service.

Diana Deane is the designer of your dreams. If you want to do custom work for your wedding, look no further. Diana created a fully custom wardrobe for my wedding weekend and EVERY. SINGLE. PIECE. blew me away. Not only did she manage to create the most magical dress capsule collection - yes, COLLECTION, every piece was custom and this wonder woman did everything remotely in a 6-week timeframe: -A quilted coat which I will wear for the rest of my life -A day-before-ceremony dress with Chantilly lace underlay and hand embroidering of my husband's and my favorite things -The star of the show: an incredible custom wedding gown with the most precious floral cotton lace, delicate and impressive hand-beading, sleeves that made me feel like royalty, and pockets (because every bride needs pockets!) - all designed around my mom's headpiece from her wedding -The sweetest veil ever with little hand-made flowers (and I thought I was someone who would never wear a veil) -A whimsical black numbers with tiny bows -A neoprene slip to wear under every outfit (loved that touch) -Bow tie for my husband from the same fabric as my coat -Diana also made recommendations for my hairstyle, helped pick my lip color, and helped me find and create two custom pairs of clogs - she does it all without skipping a beat, and on top of it is incredibly humble and kind-hearted. Diana did this all completely remote and in a 6-week timeframe! My husband and I got engaged and had a micro-wedding during the pandemic (engaged in June, married in October), and we didn't have much time to get everything together. I was nervous about asking anyone to do custom work for me in such a short span of time, but the minute I started working with Diana, all my worries were swept away. Her custom process is timely, creative, and fun, and she makes you feel both special and comfortable every step of the way. I could never dream up these incredible pieces up on my own, and I so appreciate Diana's creative direction, consistent communication, professionalism, and calm throughout the process. From initial calls, to picking out fabric together, to fittings - she put me at ease and made creating my wedding wardrobe both meaningful and memorable. Working with Diana was so fantastic that I was quite sad when it was over, and have hired her again for ready-wear because I love working with her so much! You can tell that Diana takes so much care and pride in her work. When I received my magical collection, I was completely blown away - the quality was so luxe and rich, the fabrics, embroidery, beading, and hand sewn details were beautiful, and everything fit like a glove. I didn't need a single fitting adjustment! If you want to hire an incredibly talented, angel of a designer, work with Diana Deane. Diana is such a creative spirit with such calm energy, which is the ultimate combination for a wedding dress designer. I came to her with no real direction and she painted a fairytale picture for me every step of the way. If you even have an inkling of a desire to do something custom, choose Diana Deane for all your bridal needs. She is fantastic and I will continue to work with her for years.

    Ripples in dress

I had my first fitting with Diana Deane on May 19. This appointment went smoothly, She adjusted and pinned my dress which should have resulted in a custom fitted dress. I paid for the first half, plus tip and left confident in her ability. My final fitting on June 16 is where things went south. I tried on my dress and was happy except for the hip area which contained an angle instead of a rounded seam. This is where the adjustment and original seam met. I brought this to her attention and she agreed that the dress could be taken in a bit. I waited while she made these adjustments. This time I left with a dress that was a bit too tight. The dress now contained rusching/ripples in the front which she told me was because I needed "sit room". I then tried to sit In the dress but had a hard time and even needed her help getting up. She told me that this was because her couch sat low. I trusted her judgement as a professional and took the dress home. When I got home I tried to sit on a higher chair but still couldnt. I immediately sent an email and we followed up with a phone call the following Monday. Her website states that she charges for alterations that need to be redone because of weight or size fluctuations or work asked to be done against recommendation. Neither of these were the situation with my dress it was simply that she had taken the dress in too much. While explaining the issue she dismissed me saying she did not want to talk about what was said but rather what she could do now. She let me know that my options were to leave the dress as is or pay her to let the dress out and it would look exactly as it did before, which also was incorrect. I ended up taking my dress to another seamstress only to find out that she had sewn the hip area in a straight line, rather than a curve which would accommodate the natural curve of a womans hip. Also my dress is a mermaid dress. She also discovered there was a hole in the Seam which could have potentially ripped on my wedding day. I would not, under any circumstances recommend you leave the fate of such an important day up to chance. In the event you do, I would caution you to be very clear about what you want and do not leave the shop until you get it or you will be highly disappointed, which was the terrible mistake I made.

Diana did all the alterations on my wedding gown as well as my mom's dress for my wedding and did an incredible job! My dress was a floor model, so it had quite a bit of wear-and-tear - the buttons in the back had to be completely re-done and it had a lot (a LOT!!) of intricate beading with many beads having come undone. Diana made the dress look completely brand new. Having a very large bust, I was worried that I would feel uncomfortable in a dress with such a deep V, but Diana altered it in a way that looked very flattering and felt so comfortable. In addition to altering my gown, Diana created a custom-made hairpiece using parts of the hairpiece my mom wore to her wedding. It came out so unique and gorgeous, and looked better than I could have imagined. Diana really listened to all of my questions/comments/concerns and did not quit until I felt 100% comfortable and confident in my dress. She has a great eye and her incredible talent is obvious. She is also very easygoing and makes you feel fully comfortable, which is a huge help when dealing with something as nerve-wrecking as dress fitting. Thank you sooo much!!

Diana was lovely and she did a wonderful job on my dress! I bought a sample sale dress from Pronovias that was exceptionally large. It was a size 8 and I'm a size 0. She resized the dress and hemmed it without compromising the integrity of the dress. Her pricing was also very reasonable. So thankful for Diana

Diana brought my dress vision to life. I bought a Reem Acra wedding dress on Shopbop for $900 and wanted some beautiful beaded straps attached and an asymmetrical hem cut into the tulle. The original dress came with an attached belt which was causing bulk & some issues with the zipper. Diana worked with me for over an hour to figure out a solution. She was about to send me home without the dress so she could figure out a way to make it work -- At which point, I asked her to remove the belt -- it was PERFECT. If she hadn't been patient and worked with me for so long, I'm not sure if we would have discovered this! I was worried about the straps getting in the way or getting stuck in my hair so Diana made them removable. I ended up never taking them off but this was a great option. I am just really sad I probably won't have the opportunity to wear my dress again!

Diana is amazing and did the alteration of my lovers society wedding gown. She's so detailed and gave great input on what needs to be done. Definitely recommend her for any bridal alteration with reasonable rate!

There aren't enough happy words in any language to describe my experience with Diana and her team. From my first fitting we immediately connected, she was so welcoming, so kind, so much fun to be around and she helped me fall in love with my dress again. A little background: I purchased my dress from a sample sale online about a year and half before my wedding. (Crazy I know but it was a good deal) As the months passed I started to have some anxiety, not only because the dress needed some pretty major alterations but also because I wasn't sure if I could come up with a cohesive look, didn't know where to start in the world of veils or accessories. Enter Diana Deane! As soon as I walked into the store I knew I had made the right call, everything about the shop is thoughtful and beautiful, and I knew that I was in good hands. Not only did she make my dress look incredible fit wise, she also worked with me to put together my entire look with a headpiece and veil. She is also an incredibly talented designer and I ended up purchasing a custom white silk slip for the reception, which until Diana had only existed in my dreams. Diana Deane is the absolute best choice for anything bridal and more! (I'm talking ready to wear, accessories, and a treasure trove of vintage clothing and jewelry) The best part of my experience truly was Diana herself, she is just an all around amazing person. She cares so much and she takes pride in her work and it is evident in the work she did on my alterations and my custom pieces. Look no further brides, Diana is the personal bridal experience you've always dreamed of! I've attached some photos of my dreamy wedding day looks, feast your eyes!!! Thank you so much Diana and Levi!

Upon arriving, the designer was finishing up with another customer so I browsed. There isn't a ton of variety in comparison to other places, but as mentioned, it is a smaller shop. The designer asked me a lot of questions to determine what I was looking for and after we finished discussing, it sounded like she probably didn't have what I was really wanting. She said if I wanted something custom made I could call her. I really appreciate the years of experience she has, and that she designs her dresses at such a reasonable price. It seems that many other brides have been able to get their perfect dress from her with a very minimal budget. For me, it just wasn't the right fit. I was looking for different styles and although I thought the designer was very knowledgeable, I'm a very shy bride and found her demeanor a bit abrasive for me to work with. My biggest concern was also that the shop smelled like someone had been smoking and I wondered if that effects the clothing. No mention of it in other reviews so perhaps not. In all, very experienced and to the point local designer who can work within a tight budget. Worth checking out and seeing if one of her custom dresses is perfect for you!
