I recently got my wedding dress altered here. Libia was professional and the shop was very clean and nice. I did take off a star because I felt like the price was very steep for what was done. There is no one else you should trust with your dress. Libia was able to turn my dress around in 2 weeks time. She and I talked about my budget and which alterations were essential. Having never had a wedding dress altered before, I can't speak to how her rate compares. But, her quote was on par with what the associates at the dress store predicted. She broke it down by item, and it was clear how the pricing was determined. I had every opportunity to veto a change before she did it. She was very transparent when we were working together. She was incredibly flexible with my ever unpredictable work schedule. Even when I was feeling moments of panic about our tight timeline, she was always calm. She is very critical of her own work, but listened to my concerns and my thoughts. Libia cared for me like I was family, and I would recommend anyone and everyone to work with her. Libby does wonderful work and I was so happy I found her! She will also give you her honest opinion and was even able to help me with shapewear which was very helpful for photos, feeling confident etc. I had little to do on my wedding dress but she did a perfect job on my bustle, sewing in bra cups and stitching the date of our wedding in blue! She also did extensive work on a little jacket I had for over my jacket - it was absolutely perfect and was my exact vision!!! I bought a wedding dress and the owner ordered it incorrectly. So I had extensive alterations that needed to be done unfortunately. I called Livi's Design and explained what had happened. I made an appointment because she appeared confident enough to do the said alterations. I went to my appt. on 7/21 and she pinned everything up on my dress just like she were to do the alterations. Livi also told me that it would be cheaper to "just buy another dress or something" and she also said she could design a dress for cheaper because the alterations were going to be expensive. So we made my next 3 appointments and I left feeling a little better about my dress. Meanwhile I was still dealing with the wedding shop I purchased my dress at because I needed fabric and they are the only ones who can get it. I also had the Better Business Bureau involved with said business. It ended up that the owner of the wedding shop wanted to just refund me, so I called Livi on 7/22 thinking she would be happy bc she had made mention about designing my gown, but instead she was very stand-offish. I spoke to Livi again on 7/23 in the morning she gave me a price for a new gown to be made then 2 hours after I spoke to Livi she texted me this: "Also, I have some bad news for you. Shortly after I talked to you this morning, I got a phone call from my brother in Colombia. It seems my mother is sicker than she was telling me. I am currently rearranging appointments and making arrangements to go spend time with her. So unfortunately, I will not be able to design your gown. I feel awful for telling you this considering the issues you have already had with your gown, but I am sure you understand my need to spend time with her." When I went to pick up my gown at Livi's to return it to the wedding shop, I felt some shady things going on and I actually felt I was being lied to. So today, 7/26 I called Livi's Design and spoke to Leanne (her receptionist) as a "new" client. She told me yes they have availability for me to take my dress in, she gave me dates, and I asked if I had to worry about anyone taking vacations or time off and Leanne told me that the owner wouldn't be going on vacation until October! So the fact that Livi lied to me is very unprofessional and disturbing. I am now in a really bad situation because Livi doesn't want to do what she lead me to believe she was going to do! If she did this to me, she will do this to other brides! I have three months to figure out a wedding dress, and if you are or have been a bride you know that, that is pretty much impossible! read more
