The lady at the front desk was welcoming and knowledgeable about the museum. I like the addition of interactive pieces in the museum which made the experience better. They have a souvenir stand at the back and a guessing game. If you win the guessing game you get to choose between two shirts. I got the Roanoake tape measure and a free shirt from the guessing game. All in all it was a lunch break well spent and the ladies working there were lovely. I recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

They commence by escorting you and your children throughout their beautiful and wonderful exhibits. They are so kind and gentle with your children. These marecoulous women get your children engaged in the historical world of Roanoke, Texas. I felt like I traveled back in time. Best of all, our friends were allowed to participate and expand on their knowledge. All their questions were answered so patiently and the children were allowed to touch certain items and explore. The kindness of all these women blew my mind. They even hugged us without hesitation at the end of our unscheduled tour. Also, we are now in their Facebook page, so Yes, they made us famous. The director of the camp was very communicative, shared pictures, and did an amazing job making the production happen in the 2 weeks that the kids had with the camp. I really liked the program they used to communicate with parents, shared the music files so we had it at home so they could practice, and what the needs they had for costuming. My oldest very much looks forward to taking a class in the fall & possibly auditioning for parts in future productions they have. She has also had an interest in behind the scenes aspects so it will be awesome to see how this theater grows and what classes they offer in the future!

The venue has a nice front room, a center area which is good for a couple of tables, a back room with fire place that is pretty big and a nice size kitchen. We used all the indoor space for our event. There is also a lovely backyard and patio area that can be used for different things as well. Everyone was super nice and accommodating to us. We got so many compliments on what a cool venue this place was for a baby shower. I would absolutely recommend this spot if you are looking to host an event. When we booked our paintings, they had a few add-ons that you can choose from. My mom choose to paint on wood plank board instead of canvas, and I got the glitter add-on, which were both fun adds to our paintings. The instructors are the best part of Painting with a Twist. Our instructor was Emily, and she made the experience fun and was always complimenting our paintings. She also had a good pace and was very clear with her instructions. Either we got lucky or the timing was right since we did not have anyone in line in front of us. They gathered us in a group with a guide to help everyone navigate through the experience. My son had a great time running around. I love how they kept it engaging for the kids, but some of the activities were too advanced for my toddler to follow. For example, he could not figure out how to find the blue styrofoam roll and place that on the puzzle board to unlock the village. There were also too many kids in the cage area, so it was hard to get him up there to throw the ball at Gargamel. At the end, he did not want to put on the VR goggles, so we went straight to the gift shop. Our favorite activity was the obstacle course. The kids had loads of fun climbing and running to and fro. I personally like the Smurf village, which was absolutely adorable with vibrant colors. You can also meet the Smurf characters for photo-op. It was definitely a fun experience that was not too congested with others. Entrance fee definitely on the pricey side though.
