Came here and got some fudge and a coconut milkshake. The signs by the sidewalk advertise a lower price for the shakes, but that is for soft serve. A shake made with real ice cream, is 4.50 and up. The supposed most popular flavor of fudge (Butterscotch salted caramel?) was awful and tasted like Brach's candy. Amazing ice cream and unique cones! This is an awesome little shop that you have to stop at if you're at Johns Pass. I got the chocolate fudge brownie ice cream in a cone that was dipped in dark chocolate. I need to stop writing about it because I'm craving it right now! On a hot day it was absolutely perfect. Their Superman flavor wasn't the vanilla-based kind, but the cashier warned me beforehand and they have signs for each flavor with descriptions. DH got an old fashioned milkshake with their strawberry ice cream, and I opted for the soft serve with butterscotch layered into it. My gosh- it was amazing! Super creamy and smooth- and the amount of butterscotch was evenly distributed.. I want more. House of sweets? More like House of LIES. This business is advertised as open until 11pm, however, upon our arrival at 10:39, the doors were closed and locked. An employee was standing directly inside shutting everything down and didn't even bat an eye nor give us the courtesy to let us know why. So I would like to know why your business is advertised to be open until 11PM if employees are just going to be able to decide on a whim that they want to close early and play on their phones. This is unacceptable. We drove a long way to get some ice cream and chocolate... only to be left empty handed. Not very professional at all. 0/10 would NOT RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE GAS AND COME HOME EMPTYHANDED. Luckily the McDonald's down the street had a functioning ice cream machine and we were able to stop there (isn't that ironic). They will be receiving 5 stars. As for the House of Disappointment? I am craving their fudge as a write this review. The first thing that caught my eye was the ice cream for my mini me. My little boy was able to sample a flavor and once it passed his taste test, he was promptly served. The staff wasn't stingy on the one scoop either. The single scoop was big enough to keep him quiet and satisfied for ample time while I shopped for myself uninterrupted. I stocked up on taffy and the only complaint I have is that I didn't buy enough. The long taffy rolls are made in house and the square pieces are shipped in. I was eyeballing the fudge when I was ready to check out but I was reluctant to buy because of the heat outside. An employee (I wish I could remember her name, I'm sorry.....she was awesome) informed me that their fudge could withstand high temperatures without melting (never knew that before) and that I should be fine. With that little bit of useful info, I had to order the milk chocolate fudge. OMG.....I can still taste it!!!! It's that good!!!! Now get this, not only does she tell me that my fudge will be fine in the heat, but if I leave my name, they'll just hold my taffy and fudge until I'm ready to pick it up later , as long as I'm back before the store closes. I leave my name and instantly, I'm the Mayer with everyone calling me my name saying hold this for Lynette, she'll be back later for it. This was a nice convenience for me because I was able to enjoy shopping and eating in other establishments hands free. I come back an hour later and I'm promptly handed my package.
