Yeah, these guys are legit. I had them inspect two houses I went into escrow with. They were super professional, great communicators, and did the most thorough inspection of the houses I could ever hope for. They found things I would never imagine to check for, compliled a detailed PDF with photos of trouble areas, arrows pointing to specific issues, and a write up for every one. It looks like a TON of work went into this report. Because of their first inspection, a house I loved revealed numerous issues that would have cost tens of thousands to fix. Completing our inspection with Insight Inspections was absolutely the right choice. I reached out to them through yelp and Scott responded promptly with all the details I needed to make my decision he then asked me a few questions to establish an appointment and within a couple of hours I had a confirmation email from the office with all the details I needed for the appointment. On the day of the appointment Nate, our inspector reached out to me to let me know he was on his way and followed up with a time of arrival shortly after. Communication with this company was superb! He gave us the option to be there for the duration of the inspection or meet him after he was through and then he would take the time to go over his findings. We chose to meet him once he was through. He did an amazing job! His attention to detail was outstanding and he explained even the smallest details to us and made sure we understood. 1000% hire your own 3rd party house inspector, DO NOT simply rely on the builders "inspector". My wife and I recently bought a home from D.R. Horton. Horton had provided a home inspector for us, but it was more like an orientation rather than giving a thorough inspection. Their inspector was nice, but wasn't very professional nor knowledgeable. I used them before and had a less than stellar experience. I decided to give them a try again. I've owned my home for three years but just wanted someone to come out and tell me if there were any issues I should be worried about. This time around the front end of the experience was much more organized. They were on top of their website inquiries, and their emails, and their text messages. Somebody has spent time putting some systems in place it looks like. The inspector that showed up, Jimmy, was on time, knowledgeable, and a nice guy. We felt comfortable with his inspection, and he spent a lot of time on the inspection, and he spent a lot of time explaining things, and said he was available for follow up if needed. The house was in good shape in general but there's a few things we will tuneup. It was money well spent. Let me first say that my husband and I are in the process of purchasing our first home in San Antonio. We have been clueless about so many things but thanks to the reviews here I was able to learn what to expect. We live in Austin but I didn't know if they would travel for an inspection so I wrote Insight Inspections through their website and received a call from Nathan the very next day. He mentioned that he would be able to do an inspection for us in San Antonio however it would include a travel fee. He was very patient and answered all of my questions, even some questions I had about lead-based paint testing. With very short notice, Nathan was able to inspect the home we were about to purchase and then gave us and our realtor a tour of his findings. We were so thankful for Nathan's insight, this was an older home (1920s) that would have needed tons of work and we realized we were in over our heads. Although we love the charm of old homes, we didn't know how costly the maintenance would be or how many things still needed repair after the home was labeled as a "remodel" in the listing. I feel very thankful that he was able to give us a heads up. We made a decision to walk away from the transaction of this particular home so I feel like he saved us a ton of money. Also, the seller did not make the attic/crawl space accessible so he offered to give us a credit for the services he was unable to perform. Really great customer service! Throughout the whole process he was very patient, knowledgeable, thorough, and offered great advice. We needed an inspection of the property we had under contract before the option period was over. I was so relieved to get someone out to do the inspection quickly.
