With their history in construction and remodeling, they could quickly see and point out problems. We spent almost 3 hours walking around the entire property together, outside and inside. We checked the roof, attic, and basement. We tested all the appliances and fixtures. We checked the hvac, electrical, and sump pump systems. Best of all, they are funny and easy to talk with. They answered all of my questions and provided advice on how I could DIY fix some of the smaller problems. My home inspection was fun and very educational! Afterwards, they sent us our report that same night! We also received our radon testing results in 2 days. They were also able to provide a rough general estimate for repairs.

Hired Neil and Vincent to inspect a house, while most of the report was accurate…read morethey failed to inspect the deck and discover the MAJOR wood rot in the floor joist and support beams. Rot so bad that that the joist wouldnt even support the weight of a person standing on it, and the rot was all the way through the entire joist, top to bottom. This was pressure treated lumber and there is no possible way it went from being in good condition as they reported to fully rotted away in 4.5 months. This resulted in repairs in the $1000's. When contacted to get a refund, Vincent asked why I didn't discover the problem sooner and bring it to their attention. PA allows up to One (1) year to find Errors/Omissions in an Inspection Report, I reported mine within 4.5 months of moving into the house. They then tried to blame heavy vine coverage to blocked their view, the inspection was in April, nothing was heavily grown yet, I have pictures to show how clear the view of everything was just days before the actual inspection. Very unprofessional and overlooks problems and then blames the client for not finding their mistake sooner. Vincent threatened me with slander for this bad review.

Definitely not worth the above average inspection price his company charged. He missed that handles in two kitchen appliances were broken and were missing caps, exposing very sharp metal parts, thus presenting a safety issue for kids (small child was present during inspection). Now I have to buy and replace these handles.

Him and his son, who he was teaching at the time, arrived on time for the inspection. The house we purchased was a flip and we had had no idea what we were getting into. He mentioned quite a few issues in the report, however, there were MAJOR issues not mentioned that we found out about later that could have been avoided. The first problem- The son noticed the exterior outlets seemed as though they were not working correctly. Mark told him he used the old tool that does not work. We thought they figured out the issues but all of our exterior outlets did not work after moving in except for 2. -Our fan in the bathroom was not connected to anything so it just blew all of the air into the attic. We found this out because the roof was leaking above the bathroom since they installed the vent incorrectly. -We were having work done in the crawlspace and he never noticed live wires just sitting on the foundation. This has been irritating me ever since we started having problems with the house that could have been avoided. I also understand wanting to teach your son to join the business but I think there could have been a better way to go about it than just letting him go off on his own during such an important inspection.

He was incredibly knowledge about every aspect of the house, from the roof, to the facade, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, masonry, structural aspects... just about everything. At no point did I question his intelligence or qualifications. All of his explanations were detailed and concise. He asked us if we understood after every point he made. He is the real deal. I feel confident that all major issues that could have been observed were done so. We got an excellent report (physical and digital) which included all of the things that Eric told us during the walkthrough (which lasted about 1.5 hours). He took pictures of everything inspected and uploaded them to a custom photo album, available to be viewed online. Eric gave us tons of tips on how to maintain items in the house as well. I wasn't familiar with the process and he explained everything. I also found him to be very thorough. There were obvious items that I either missed or hadn't thought of. The best part was that he would explain his findings without making me feel stupid. We aren't all engineers but I consider myself somewhat intelligent. However, when it comes to something such as insulation and faulty brands, it is nice to be able to rely on an expert. I can't say the house I wanted to buy passed with flying colors and interestingly enough, I was ok with that. I was paying for peace of mind and the ability to be aware of potential issues. Eric would state his findings but was careful to not offer an opinion on if I should buy the house or not. That decision was up to me but he made sure I was well informed. I had a follow up question a few days later and he returned my call right away. The report that was sent had a every detail in it and was clearly laid out. I felt armed with enough information to make a good buying decision. While I did not particularly enjoy the entire buying/selling process, I would use this company again with confidence. Ask for Eric.

John at JM Proper inspections, just threatened me on the phone, yelled at me, insulted my…read moreintelligence, and threatened legal action if I write this review. Bullies need to be stopped; so here is the review. I contacted John a full month before a 1/6 inspection. I told John this is my first home inspection, and I needed his guidance. I told him about my multi-unit rental property I was purchasing, offered the listing and documentation (he said he would get it from the Realtor), and put him in direct contact with my realtor. I am positive of all this information because I took meticulous notes. John just called me, yelling, 13 hours before the inspection, that he needed to raise the price $1500 because he didnt know the size of the building. I asked him why this information wasn't presented to me earlier, and he lost it. Yelled at me, talked over me, was genuinely the most aggressive professional I have ever worked with. He offered no solutions, he gave no apologies for not doing his due diligence until the last minute (instead blaming it on his staff: the hallmark of a terrible leader), and threatened me with a lawsuit if I were to write a review about his behavior. Some direct quotes: "You write a review about me you will be hearing from my lawyer." "Your ignorance isn't my problem." "You lied to me about the size of the property" (After admitting that I told him on the phone the size of the property, asked him if he needed a listing, and put him in contact with the Realtor. John might be a great Inspector, I will never know, I cancelled our Inspection, I could never give money to a man like this. If you want to spend money at companies run by people with kindness in their heart and integrity in their practice, I am positive you can find a better inspector than John.
