I came in on my birthday for a nose piercing and had a great experience! Because my nose had been pierced previously and they didn't have to re make a hole, they ended up taking the piercing fee off and just charged for the jewelry which I thought was super nice. The shop was lovely and had a great vibe about it so I decided to schedule a tattoo appt here to get a little MJ piece. Unfortunately, I didn't have that same amazing experience. During our email communication, I was told that the piece would only take an hour and that the artists hourly rate was $200. The tattoo only ended up taking 30 minutes but when I went to checkout, the artist rang me up for $250 on a design that wasn't modified at all from a web search I did. I'm all for paying for skills and years of service but I was really thrown off that the total was different than discussed previously. I brought that up and she changed it back to $200 but I thought that was a very weird thing to do. Overall, I'd return for piercings, if I wanted more, but I don't think I'd return for a tattoo. read more

went here to get my tongue pierced and wasn't very happy. my piercer gave me a bar way too short and i even told him multiple times "this looks really short" and "are you sure this is long enough?". the bar being too short made the swelling hurt even more than it should have. i went to get the bar changed to a longer one cause i couldn't take it anymore and it was genuinely so painful i started crying. i don't remember the last time i cried from pain. don't think id recommend getting a piercing that swells a lot from this location. read more

I had been wanting to get some old ear piercings re-done for the longest and decided to finally do the thing. Just walking into a piercing/tattoo shop can be a bad time, but I had heard good things about HHT from friends and the reviews were promising. In under an hour, I had three new piercings and a great experience! Both the receptionist and the piercer Wes were patient, helpful, and clear about the process and pricing. I only needed tapering to reopen my old ear piercings, which was a cheaper price than full piercing. The jewelry offered was a nice selection with a price range of economical to splurgy. The shop looked as cool as it did clean. I really loved the vibe. I'd be curious to see what style of tattoos are offered beyond the traditional American style, but if I ever need a piercing, HHT will be my shop. read more

Art had his work cut out for him: a partially done tattoo from a previous artist in another state with just a picture and a bloodline to go on. He tackled it and then some! It was even better than I could have asked for. He put fierceness in Athena's look that was a missing piece to the design. The photo does not do her Justice. I go back to finish more of the goddess sleeve in a month or so but I'm sold on his work. If you're looking for gray/black/white and realism, AND you need someone who can handle portraits, you have to go to him. Update: Shop owner Miranda reach out to me shortly and helped me with my problem. I had a bad luck there but at least they have good customer service. Original review: I pierced my ear there and since day one felt pressure in it and minor discomfort. But on day 5 it's developed extreme pain. I had to go to the doctor and take antibiotics. I followed all the instructions given to me In regards to care to prevent any sort of infection so the only way I believe I got an infection was through improperly sanitized equipment or something else on their part.When I stopped by the shop to get consultation and refund I didn't get any help. Girl at reception said that I signed a liability release and that I'm basically on my own. So they essentially refused to take any responsibility whatsoever. I now have a piercing that cannot be used, doctor has instructed me to remove piercing to allow the infection to heal. It wouldn't have been such a big deal if they at least attempts to look at the piercing or even explain to me what might have happened. read more

I've gotten two pieces of a sleeve done so far and he is by far the most legit dude I've gotten other tattoos done and am relatively impulsive but he took my concepts and narrowed me down because I'm very bad at the vagueness of things - he's funny too and personable so that doesn't hurt anything whatsoever. Emailed this place for piercing prices. Snake bites in particular. I was told $60 each and that did not include jewelry. I was fine with that. We arrive there later that day they tell me it's $70 per piercing not $60 and doesn't include jewelry, $10 difference ok that's fine whatever, not gonna bitch about a $20 difference. We get to the jewelry ... everything's gold or white gold and are all too small or just simply not our style... we ask for the most basic cheap ones just to be able to get the piercings done and head out... again we are referred to the left side of the counter where everything is gold and overpriced. At this point I'm just getting salesman vibes, if I tell you I want something basic just to leave with piercings why would you again refer me to the expensive side of your counter. (She literally said everything on the left was higher priced) We give up on piercings! Decide to ask about tattoos. We're told if we want to see their work/portfolios we can just go Instagram. not a single tattoo artist there had an on hand portfolio to showcase their work. Very disappointed with our experience. This was to be a birthday gift for my niece and you can only imagine the awkward ride out of this place knowing she couldn't get what she wanted. We ended up going elsewhere. read more

Was excited to get piercings and tattoos here but after getting my nose pierced, I will never come back. Got my nose piercing a month ago, been taking good care of it until a week ago I got a bump with no color inside what's so ever went in to see if it was an infection, keloid or something else the girl that is the apprentice of the piercings said that nothing was wrong w it then I showed her the little bump said that it was an irritation bump, EVERY SINGLE TIME I TRIED TO TALK ILL GET INTERRUPTED BY HER, so after getting interrupted so many times and trying to understand I asked if there was something she could do, she looks over the dude that actually does the piercings and he told her to clean it, I go in she cleaned it so rough that hours later the little bump had this white discharge. By Saturday the bump popped and was filled w blood, I didn't called this place cause I didn't wanted to get talked like if I'm stupid, get no help whatsoever when I'm just worried or feel like I'm wasting their time, had to watch videos on how to get rid of this bump bc they don't care about the costumers (mind you I got pierced here by another dude) My point is if you want to be talked like if you're an idiot or you're waisting their time come here! But if you want a nice piercer thar cares about their costumers, helps and explains everything to them go somewhere else cause this ain't it I'm giving it 1 start cause at least the guy that did my piercings was nice Definitely going somewhere else to get a new piece and change of it read more

I've been here for a total of 3 times for nose piercings. First time i came my previous nose piercing fell out i found this place and they gave me a new one, (The piercer i remember very vividly, was extremely ungentle) Theu sent me on my way. The piercing was way to short and looked like it started to sink into my nose. From there it was infected and i had another piercer at a different location help me out. A year later my nose piercing fell out again. I come to this place because surely they can't mess up twice. WRONG. Another piercer who was quite gentle did the same thing and made it to short and agin it started to sink into my nose and get infected after about two days i return. They agree it was too short and they make it bigger to the correct size it should've been. HOWEVER they charged me for the labor and the correct sized piercing even after i explained to them had they done the job correctly i wouldn't have to return. This is the equivalent of a restaurant messing up your order you coming back and explaining its messed up and they give you the correct thing you ordered and charge you for both meals. Honestly it's a great way to make money if you don't care about good business ethics. Seems like they can just do you dirty the first time around because you'll be back the second time for the correction and more cash. Cool shop, nice vibes. Terrible customer service. read more

I found this tattoo shop as I was searching for someone that specializes in line tattoos. This was my first tattoo, and I decided to travel to Houston to get it! I was a walk-in customer around 7pm on a Saturday and was greeted by the most welcoming people. Magic was my artist, and he guided me in the best placement of my tattoo with assessing all the risks of where I had originally wanted it placed (finger). It was a simple tattoo, but I admired how he made me feel comfortable and at home and made sure my tattoo was as delicate as I wanted. I asked a million questions, and him and his (amazingly awesome Pensacola native) wife were more than happy to answer anything I threw at them. They were more than just artists; they made me feel like I was at their house and they had known me their entire lives. I cannot say enough about the experience I got here at Houston Heights. I am not normally one to leave reviews but felt like I needed to because of the experience I had here. To begin with, my piercer "BUNZ" (business card attached) seemed to know what he was doing and I felt comfortable and the piercing was done quickly. Although he didn't offer any type of aftercare instructions, I assumed it was because he saw I had other piercings and that I would know what to do. A fair assumption, but still. This was a new placement for me. Anyway, the day after I got my piercing the little ball at the end of the jewelry fell out. I felt it drop into my ear. I wasn't touching it at all. He just hadn't screwed it in well enough. (Picture attached) I tried for 30 minutes to screw it back in myself but the ball is so tiny and the piercing is in such an awkward place I couldn't do it myself. I had to go back to the shop where they charged me $10 to put the ball back in. Fast forward a few weeks and a piercing bump has formed. (You can see in the July photo) I take good care of my piercings (you can see the conch one that I have) and cleaned this one as you're supposed to do. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go away. Now it is September and I finally decided, after 4 months, to have it taken out because I hate having the piercing bump and I've done everything I possibly could to get it to go away. I went to a different piercing shop to have it removed because I don't trust Houston Heights anymore and the piercer that takes it out tells me that whoever did it did the wrong placement and wrong jewelry and that this piercing would never heal. So not only did I waste $50 on the initial piercing and $10 on reattaching the jewelry, I also spent 4 months with a painful, uncomfortable piercing that never even stood a chance. I recommend finding somewhere else to go and doing your research on the piercer before getting it done. The last picture is the after today and I am just hoping the bump will heal. read more
