Do not come to this hospital as a patient, and do not bring a loved one here either! I'm here now, and the level of care that I'm receiving is horrendous! I am a complicated case with multiple health issues and lots of chronic pain from different cancers. I was told before I was transferred here that my medications that I was receiving at my previous hospital would not be touched or changed essentially. As soon as I got here that was the first thing they did! They changed the one medication that helps me the most! Then, when they supposedly changed my medication back to IV I felt like I was not getting the correct dose. So I asked SEVERAL nurses if I was getting the right dose, and they all lied to me and said that I was! Come to find out a week later after several bouts of nausea, vomiting, and rashes I was told that I was only getting HALF the dose! And when I talked to the doctors here about it they would not change it back! The hospitalist (Dr. Moosavi) refused to listen to me much less let me even speak! I have never been treated so poorly in my life over a medication that I clearly need! It got to the point where I had to talk to the patient advocate here, and he set up a meeting for my husband and I to speak to the manager. She basically pretended like she cared but did NOTHING to change the situation. It was all for them to save face! And it gets worse. It literally just happened again today after I had a procedure! This time with my pain meds! The horrible palliative doctor here changed my medication to not only half my dose, but also for it to be administered intramuscularly instead of just through my IV, and the pain of receiving the medication that way was horrendous!!! Absolutely beyond painful!! Why would I want to take half of my dose of my pain med and it cause me pain like that?! I cried both times I tried the medication that way because it hurt so bad!! And on top of it all it did not affect my pain whatsoever! It just doesn't make any sense! And I had no warning for the change! This particular doctor I haven't even seen in over a week! So I don't even understand what prompted her to even touch my medication to begin with! I feel like it was done purposely because she doesn't like me! I see no other reason why. The palliative doctor (Dr.Gail Donley) was so rude and condescending to me when I first met her. I could literally feel how much she disliked me when she would speak to me. She wouldn't listen to me when I would tell her what worked for me medicine wise and when I told her that I was allergic to NSAIDS she literally asked me how do I know. I told her that it caused me bleeding. And she was like yeah but when was the last time, and was trying to push me into taking an NSAID when I clearly told her that I could not take it. It was absurd! And now come to find out that she's the doctor that changed my pain medication without coming to see me, or letting me know anything whatsoever. I just don't understand why I am being treated this way here. It's beyond scary to be here as a vulnerable patient. Some of the nurses are wonderful here don't get me wrong. There's always some good people mixed in with the bad. But the bad ones are actually the doctors here! I have never felt so unsafe and uncared for in my life at any other hospital facility EVER!! I'm truly scared to be here, and I'm in SO much pain! The only reason I'm even here is because I was transferred from another Methodist location that said that they can't keep patients long term, and I had already been there for 50 days. So they sent me here to the Methodist Continuing Care location in Katy. Please please please do NOT come to this place for yourself or anyone else that you care about! The care here is below subpar, and that's coming from the actual doctors here! They are already trying to discharge me without even fully helping me with my issues. They will be sending me home with more problems than I came in with, and I am terrified! Please go somewhere else!! Anywhere but here!! I should've read the reviews to this place before I got here because that would've told me everything I needed to know! If you've gotten this far thank you for taking the time to read this. And if you ever feel like you are being mistreated don't be afraid to speak up for yourself! You are your biggest and best advocate! I plan on not only writing many reviews about this place online, but also contacting the higher ups here and filing a grievance! They will not get away with treating me this poorly! Another Methodist location sent me here bc this location is same day visit but upon arrival they told me they are full. I had 82 yrs old senior with me who needed doctor visit. Katy, Texas Houston Methodist Continuing Caer is NOT recommended. My husband is a patient there now. When he was admitted ON 2/29/24 he was considered a high risk patient. He was not cared for like one- they swiftly lost control as multiple issues developed and ultimately he was found unresponsive as a result of critically high CO2 levels and was back on a ventilator. Prior to arriving, he had been liberated from the ventilator for over 70 days- he was back on a ventilator within 2 weeks being there. He had heart issues prior and we had asked for a cardiologist to be consulted regarding his medications. Cardiologists were ONLY called in when it became a crisis and he experienced a high cardiac enzyme levels that indicated a heart attack. Their solution is to administer pain and anxiety medication to sedate him. For a week straight his cognition, speech, and behavior was unusual - an indication of high CO2 levels. We asked for co2 levels to be tested- it turns out the portable machine was not accurately measuring the correct number- a blood gas test was finally done and his levels were indeed dangerously high- this landed him on a ventilator again and could have been avoided. Setback after setback. He has no voice/cannot speak without a speaking valve and his call button is frequently left out of reach. It has become terrifying to leave at night. I am not notified at night when he has major health concerns like transfusions and afib and being put back on a ventilator. Poor communication. Very low consistency with staff. My husband has told me there is systemic dysfunction in this hospital. The fact that he has become fearful when I leave at night is concerning. I feel like I need to be there as a life guard. He is often not treated with dignity and respect with certain staff if I am not in the room. He has been here over 2 months and I am fearful that it has become dangerous to keep him here at this location in Katy. read more

I have very little regard for the staff at Houston Methodist Hospital. I received a call that Dr. Gul Ferdousi needed to cancel my appt and I was very ill. I was instructed to go to Houston Methodist Continuing Care and finally had to ask what that and the location. Went over to Continuing Care and was told there are no doctors or help I could get on the weekend. The misinformation caused major stress. I was alarm about the little concern HMCC had for me as sick as I was when I went in. Take your care somewhere else, not this place. I end up going to urgent care. read more

I dislike Houston Methodist Hospital West ER with an intensity akin to hatred. Forgive me Lord. A few years ago I called 911 because I was having a panic attack secondary to knee replacement surgery which was was secondary to a previous spinal surgery. For all practical purposes I was home alone. I had just been discharged from St. Luke's hospital on Thursday, this was Saturday about 6:00 pm. The home health care nurse did not come on Friday as scheduled. I don't know why. I was heavily medicated having experienced a fib-tib fracture in my right leg under the kneecap in January of 2015 or 2016. I had gone into St. Luke's for repair of that first fracture which had become infected with a virulent staph infection due to medical malpractice at a skilled nursing facility. The nurse on duty, said she was the "charge nurse" in the ER was curt, surly and scratched my arm when I refused restraints. I tried to get her name so that I could report her to her nursing board and she refused to tell me saying she had never been reported to the boards and she was not going to let someone "like me" ruin her career at this stage. I would love to read her nursing notes. I told her I needed a catheter because for some reason I couldn't pee despite having drunk over a gallon of water that day. She said I would have to use the bedpan because I was a fall risk and she couldn't take me to the bathroom. I became agitated and pointed to my private area and said " what do you see?" By this time some meds she had given me were working and I was unable to speak clearly, but I could hear-and understand what was being said. She laughed derisively and said "all I see is an old woman's stinky pu***." I am a professional counselor and have never spoken to a patient like that!!! read more

You do not want to send your loved one to this place nor yourself. If anyone being sent here needs lifesupport to recover, they will not get the help they need to get better here. My father died here. They put him on all kinds of meds and he was on lifesupport but could communicate with nod gestures, then 2 weeks later when they locked down hospital he died. They lied to me that he could not comprehend and said he was incoherent but it was from all the drugs they were giving him because when I fought for them to stop giving him it, he could communicate with me. A worker couldn't tell me but by the sound of their voice something wrong was done to my dad and I will never be able to find out. Find some where else to go please. If lawsuits start making their way into the public about the place, I will be in that crowd fighting for my dad and for them. read more

These people would have let my father died had we not forced them to transport him to the hospital downtown. When we toured the facility. They bragged about being so different because they always had a doctor on staff. Maybe 8-5..... but weekends and holidays. Late nights. Nothing. It was so bad. The paramedics didn't understand what they were doing with him. Fever continuously growing. Improper care for his gangrene. He became sick with an infection under their care. His entire reason for being in the icu and hospital and then them was because he was sepsis. He wasn't supposed to get sick again under their care. But the care was poor. We literally had to teach them how to wipe him correctly. I felt bad for the people who didn't have family there to check and make sure the staff cleaned them well and took care of them. Most of the nurses there seem to enjoy not having to do much. read more

When we were looking for a LATAC care facility.. I was horrified of the places available. Dark, old, smelley. I couldn't imagine putting a love one in any of these places. We live close to downtown Houston so Methodist in Katy really didn't seem to be a good option. But I knew I needed to look at this option. Well to my delight the facility was BRIGHT clean fresh smelled good staff looked nice . We choose this place and with timing the location wasn't a bad drive at all if you timed it right. But, most of all the care of the staff was OUTSTANDING. They trully cared. Please consider looking at this facility if you are in need. There really wasn't many reviews written for them, that is why I am taking the time to write one. read more

My father was transferred here from Memorial Hermann ICU. I am a nurse at MH and have sent patients to LTACs before but never really knew what they were like. Honestly, I assumed they were similar to SNFs...which worried me. We have been here now for almost a month...started in ICU and now on med/surg. Let me say, this place is AMAZING!!! It is exactly like a hospital. I had no idea! Every employee from the nurses, PCAs, PT/OT, dietary, speech therapy, housekeeping, clerks, social worker, case manager, and RT (with the exception of 2 respiratory therapists...Jessica and Dominique) were exceptionally caring and just amazing people. The above mentioned respiratory therapists were heartless and big headed. I won't go too much into detail but I requested that they never care for my dad again. They've seemed to have lost the compassion it takes to individualize care for patients. You can't lump them all into one category and expect them to progress in the same manner or rate. Each individual is different and unique and everyone else understood that and cared for him compassionately. I didn't want to knock any stars for these two RTs because otherwise, this facility is outstanding. I highly recommend! Just an FYI, there is ample parking, 24 hour security watching the entry way, and a cafeteria that is open during the week and the food is delicious! Houston Methodist Continuing Care (HMCC) facility on fry Rd is the worst place you can send your loved ones. I was in Methodist ICU for 22 days for Covit then transferred to HMCC covit unit. The daily nurse staff is friendly, efficient and have great empathy for the patient. On the other hand the Administrate Staff will abuse, huminite and threaten the patient. They did give me any warning for discharge date, not allow me to consult with my doctor (only saw my doctor once at admission), arbitrarily canceled doctor ordered test and retaliate against me after I complained. Getting out of the shower, I find discharge papers on the bed, no consultation, no consultation with doctor, non of the discharge papers signed, violate Medicare protocol. I insisted seeing my doctor before discharge, in retaliation an abuse charge nurse comes into my room with two security guards and issue a criminal treat that I am trespassing on Hospital Property, you must vacate in one hour. In the end, having severe pulmonary fibrosis ---never seeing my doctor. They put me into a yellow cab, did not tell the driver he was transporting a covit patient... he was scared. Note, I asked for a covet text prior to being released, they refuse to perform the test. Very very bad place!!!! read more

I can't say enough good things about this facility. My father was transferred to this facility directly from the ICU unit of North Cypress Hospital. We were concerned that he would not receive the level of care he needed being transferred out of ICU into an LTAC facility. But I can tell you we were wrong. Every nurse and doctor that cared for my father during his three weeks here was amazing! The doctors were very good about communicating with my family about the treatment that my father would be receiving and always made sure we knew what was going on with his care. Unfortunately my father did pass away due to complications from his illness while at the facility, but it was not due to lack of care. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone. The staff is top notch and will take excellent care of your loved one. read more

I do not want to seem non-opened minded because I tried hard to see the good. Don't get me wrong there were about a hand full of excellent nurses that took care of my father so well, who went above and beyond (I did acknowledge them and told them how much I appreciated them) and then not so great nurses & staff but that's everywhere you go. Unfortunately my hands were tied and I was told if I bring forth to many complaints, that it could be held against me, if they all complain about me and I could lose my right to be there with my father who was on a trach ventilator. IF you are there everyday (Bc I was) and see that your loved one is suffering side effects from meds they are trying on them, Please Please stand your ground, You have every given right too. One kidney white coat guy, told me my dad was non responsive and the put him in hospice. It was the side effect from Seroquel (which has had a lawsuit on it). When they finally listened to me to take Seroquel off, he started improving April 5th and on April 6th the last day I was allowed to see my father bc of this lock down, he had both eyes open, was responding to me, mouthed that he loved me, and said Amen when I prayed for him. He even slightly laughed at my joke, that I was going to climb the 2nd floor wall to come sit outside his window. And made a "wow really" facial expression when I told him that church services were no longer allowed and no visitors were going to be allowed. The following day, when I no longer was allowed to be there, on FaceTime he was a completely different person. I don't know what happened I just know what I was told. Fast-forward April 16th, nurse called to say his blood pressure was dropping into the low range. April 17th nurse called to tell me, his blood pressure and heart rate were low and that he was going to get a unit of blood WITH dialysis bc it was at a 7 and that they had to give him blood pressure meds. So I'm thinking they will wait for blood. The kidney white coat guy, (which I'm thinking was the one who told me to take him to hospice,) was the one who made the decision to do dialysis on my father without, unit of blood. My father already was having low blood pressure issue and low heart rate issue. My father hadn't needed dialysis before entering that place so it isn't like he was on it his whole life, they put in a port in his neck. They already knew that dialysis, was stressful on him bc his fluid wasn't in the vessels where it needed to be, in order to do dialysis and that it drops his blood pressure bc it did it almost every time. They already had told me, he wasn't as swollen like he was before and that his port was only going to stay there for emergency's. They could of waited for his unit of blood but took it upon themselves to not to. So my father paid the price for that careless decision. Yes he wasn't in good health but that just finished him right off. (((And this is from what I feel from the "white coat guys" and yes it's my opinion but if you believe in the Only ONE who saves us, from our sins, please I beg you, find somewhere else to take yourself or your loved one))) read more
