First time there. Food fresh and the lemonade so good. Would like to try more flavors of the levels of heat.

Another obscure spot for the win! Driving downtown I frequently pass this delightful little chicken…read moreshack. Several times I've slowed down, considered pulling in and then just kept driving to Old Orchard. Well today I (we) stopped. The owners were really nice. They warned us there would be a 15 minute wait... fine by us. I'd rather wait for FRESH food than eat food from under a heat lamp any day! Woody's sits at the end of a strip mall in an admittedly not great area of town, but it's good to step outside of your neighborhood (and comfort zone). The food is cheap! For 6.50 we got a side of mashed potatoes and gravy, 3 pieces of dark meat, a drink, and a roll. The potatoes were perfectly whipped into a delicious buttery frenzy and they were smothered with a fantastic peppery gravy. There was a lot of love in the gravy. That gravy alone makes it worth the wait. And then there's the chicken. Frickin' yum! It's crunchy and crispy and well seasoned on the outside with perfectly cooked meat on the inside. When I eat fried chicken I want to hear that "crunch" when I bite into it... and if it doesn't require a napkin to wipe the juices off your face and fingers after that first bite then it's not for me. This is the best comfort food you've never eaten! It's family owned and local. I recommend calling ahead and picking it up at their drive thru window. Bonus... you can get cash for gold right next door while you wait.

Looking for Japanese fried chicken (Karaage) in Downtown Toledo at 11:30 pm? THIS is where you'll find it. And it's good. Japanese fried chicken is a lot like American fried chicken, but the batter is a little different. The dipping sauces are similar to American sauces, but, they are a little different. Different is good. You can get said chicken in the form of wings, chunks, 1/2 a bird, or, in a donburi bowl. The menu also has some American (fries, coleslaw) and Asian (kimchi, edamame) sides. Mochi for dessert? You bet. Drinks? Pop, beer, etc, and sake! Service? The service was very friendly, fast, and accurate. Tommy and Sam run the place when the Main Man is elsewhere. They do a great job overseeing the service and the cooking. The atmosphere is similar to Kengo's other places on the same street. Intimate with bare brick walls. Seating is designed more for quick service and higher throughput. There are a few tables, but most people sit at one of two bars. Great music (Beastie boys and Tupac playing overhead, but not too loud). 4 stars for the food, and one more for being open late! 5 stars!

I placed my order and was given a number to receive my order- whether dining in or carryout. The ambiance was typical fast food but clean. People at the register were pleasant. I ordered a cod fish fried dinner and a grilled chicken sandwich -to go. The estimated wait time was 10 minutes and that was pretty accurate. I should have double-checked my other before leaving but I didn't. realize until I got home that my grilled chicken sandwich didn't have the Swiss Cheese I'd requested. (Added some mozzarella from the fridge.) The chicken seemed overcooked and tough to cut with a knife. They did get the tartar sauce right on the fish dinner and included a cole slaw that looked far more creamy than advertised. The fries, however, were amazing. I've posted pictures below so you can decide for yourselves. I could personally take it or leave it but my mom seemed happy with her order. During Lent, don't go any later than 4:30pm on a Friday or else you'll have a long wait.

I ordered the Garlic & Bacon Pub Burger (double smash burger) along with a side of mashed potatoes & gravy. My order was ready in about 5 minutes or so. Dining area looked very clean. Did not check out the bathrooms. Usually when you enter a Culver's, you receive a friendly greeting. That did not happen. The young lady called out to a co-worker asking her to take care of me, then just walked away. Wasn't to much with my interaction as I only had a pick up order. When the food was presented, by another staff member, she thanked me and told me to have a great day. Food was good. Decent price for quality and portion size. As I have mentioned before, if I decide to get fast food, I search out the closest Culver's on Yelp.

I'd like to preface by saying that this was my first visit to Ohio in years. Given it's my home…read morestate, I was craving my childhood favorite, Rooster's. Rooster's can never do me wrong, so an extra star has been awarded just for nostalgia & food. Coming from Columbus, I'm used to Rooster's being much rowdier, busier, and staff being more energetic and approachable. Maybe it's a hometown preference, but it seems this Northern Ohio location lacks the morale of a Central Ohio restaurant. Although they were timely (probably thanks to their cooks), it seems the wait staff weren't happy to serve until they were serving the check. I visited 2/3 times in my week stay, and from person to person, nothing changed. Maybe I missed the weekend rush, when it's more bustling and full of life, but this Rooster's never had a wait. The wings are a little greasier than I remember. But my west coast friends enjoyed the massive wings, incredible prices, and quality food just as well as I did. Dumpster fries always shared at my table. Long live Rooster's!

I had never gotten food from them before so here is my honest review. THE GOOD- Even after having it delivered, everything arrived hot and fresh. It is clear my lunch had not been sitting under heat lamps all day. The breading on the chicken was crisp and flavorful with great spice without too much heat. The mac and cheese was super cheesy and rich. The honey biscuits are the clear star of the show. Flaky, buttery, sweet from the honey, a little crispy on the outside and soft and perfect on the inside. Dont miss these biscuits! THE BAD- While the flavor of the mac and cheese was great, the texture was not. The noodles were way overcooked and mushy. With the chicken, all the flavor is in the breading. The meat itself was not seasoned at all. Marinating or seasoning the chicken before it is breaded would help with this. OVERALL- Pretty decent, I would probably order from here again mostly because they have the best biscuits of all the local chicken places even though the chicken itself could be better. I would skip the mac and cheese next time and try a different side and they have quite a few to choose from.
