I have come to believe that carryout can be more difficult for both staff and customers because it needs to be done right at the beginning because there's no opportunity to correct things later- without a return visit. There were a few things that weren't quite right and I'm not sure if it had to do with me reading texts from my family, if I got it wrong, or if it was on the part of the restaurant. No matter, it had to do with side dishes and not main entrees. When I picked up the orders, a staff member helped me carry the bags out to my car, which I greatly appreciated. Everyone at this restaurant was super nice! Since we were celebrating my mom's birthday, her entree was the most important and she said the liver and onions were delicious. My nephew was very happy with his chicken chunks. My niece didn't complain about her beef nachos. My brother and sister in law said their orders were just okay - a philly sandwich with onion rings and a turkey sandwich with gravy and onion rings. They said the sandwiches lacked flavor. Since they didn't comment about the onion rings, I'm judging from the photos that they looked amazing. My Turkey Reuben was fabulous, along with the fries. Plus, the side of Thousand Island dressing was perfectly delicious. It's hard to make everyone happy, so my rating is partly based upon my consistently excellent experience at Mama's Kitchen, including omelettes and other breakfast/brunch food. The cheese mixture was seemingly cooked separately from the chicken for it had grilled texture fried cheese gets kind of a disappointment to me since the texture lacked overall flavor and taste aside from from the fried cheese texture and taste, more importantly based on the menu what I got this element no depth or flavor profile with thicker creamy texture like a "stuffing" it was just a gooey fried cheese AND there were NO sun dried tomatoes to really speak of but one anomaly seen in my photo when cut, a huge disappointment because one of the draws to me for this dish WAS the tomato element - the gravy was watered down and missing in action completely in this dish no flavor no substance at all - the chicken was dry and overcooked a major disappointment for an Italian restaurant serving a chicken dish, and again like everything else lacked any flavoring profile aside from the fried cheese - the potatoes were fine bland overall since the gravy did nothing for them would have loved some butter in the end or some seasoning of some type - while the restaurant service always seems to be top notch and friendliness of all the employees always high standards the kitchen continues to let them all down in the end - I can't recommend this fine institution at this time it seems they forgotten what made them a destination place to begin with all these years extremely excellent service great history within the restaurant and exceptional food, let's hope they recover before it's too late - Be Well!
