The food was well cooked. Servers were very polite and the pizza was my favorite. Things could be a little cleaner though.

We needed a place to take a bunch of high school students. They were extremely accommodating and made everything easy. If you are in a similar situation, I'd recommend this location. The food is gas station quality. The facilities are filthy. Tables do not get bussed in a timely manner. The waitress did a fine job of refilling our drinks. With drinks, it was about $22 a person. My family all agreed that we will never return. read more

They have every assortment of food you would like and you can go back countless times until you are full. They also offered senior citizen pricing. They will check back with you to see if you need refills on your drinks and the atmosphere is very family orientated. read more

A dying breed! I recently got some nostalgia thinking about all-you-can eat buffets and wondered if there were any left in Toledo besides the Chinese ones. When I was a kid I used to go to Ponderosa and Old Country Buffet occasionally. Hadn't been to an American buffet restaurant in Toledo since I moved back in 2016. Wikipedia tells me that Ponderosa and Old Country Buffet have very few locations left and none in Toledo. But I found this Golden Corral place, so I figured I'd try it. Price was $16.49 for dinner on a Monday night and varies by time of day and day of the week. Drinks are extra, but everything else is included. It was nice just to find a restaurant open on Monday night period, lots are closed on Mondays. I arrived at 8:15, 45 minutes before close. The manager, Michelle, made sure I didn't feel rushed and made sure I was able to take my fill before they closed down the buffet line. I really appreciated that. I frequently end up at restaurants near closing time and don't like to be rushed. My server, a young woman with tattoos (I forget her name) was friendly, and kept my water filled nicely. The breadth of the selection of food was great. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't notice anything out of stock. I love going around the buffet and trying just a tiny bit of everything. Food quality varied. Some of my favorites were the mac and cheese, fried chicken, rolls, and chocolate fudge. The beef products including the steak were so-so, not amazing, but not bad, the quality you would expect from an all-you-can-eat place at this price. There was also a large selection of vegetables, including cabbage, lima (?) beans, brocoli, corn, beets, carrots, and a full salad bar. They were a bit shortstaffed as are many places these days. I had to get somebody's attention to help me at the pay station coming in and at the roast beef station. The server providing the steak was hard to understand. She asked multiple times how I wanted the steak cooked, but I couldn't tell what she was saying until another customer told me. Overall, a good experience, and I left full. It's across town for me, so I don't know how soon I'll be back, but I expect I'll be back eventually. read more

Drove all the way down to Toledo yesterday because this place had better stars than the other two. Came home laid down and when I got up was sicker than a dog. Got food poisoning from something I ate. The only thing I can guess. is that it was sitting too long, and the temperature was not right on it. Not sure I will make the drive down there to go back. Breakfast today, arrived about 10:00 a.m. Breakfast was still in full bloom. Everything was fresh and well stocked. Food was hot and tasted good! Kiddos to Aaron (spelling??). She checked on us frequently for drink refills. She was always busy clearing away dishes or filling the clean plate cart. Never saw her stop!! Always smiling at her customers!! Shoutout to the manager (at least I believe he is...now). This fellow has been with Golden Corral for many years. He was always an excellent server, and it doesn't surprise me he has moved up in rank. We were still there through the breakfast/lunch transition. He switched over seamlessly, cooking and serving steak, taking phone calls, removing and replacing pans like a well-oiled machine. Golden Corral is very fortunate to still have him!! The restaurant was very clean and had a pleasant, relaxed feeling. It was quite busy but not too loud as it can be, at times (just part of a buffet-style restaurant). Great experience! read more

Since starting my low-carb weight loss journey over a year ago, I've been avoiding buffet restaurants like GC. Holy Toledo, have I been missing out! Now don't get me wrong, there's A LOT that is carb-heavy and on my no-way/no-how list. And I'm thankful that I now know what's good for my body and what's not. So the good stuff at GC? How about The New Smokehouse choices!! Normally I wouldn't hold out much hope for chain restaurant smoked meats, but you must try the RIBS! Great smoke flavor, a nice pink smoke ring, extra meaty, and pull away from the bone tender! Now I'm not saying these are competition quality, because I'm not a KCBS judge, but if you pulled these off your Weber kettle in your back yard you would get rave reviews and High Fives from your friends and family. Clean bones don't lie! And the pulled pork was good too. I meant to try the chicken, as it looked like smokey goodness too, but I was too full. We walked in the guy was on the phone and kind of rude to the customer on the phone. The food tasted old and was cold. Our waiter came around a couple times which was ok. The food is not worth the price. It's to bland has no flavor and the chicken is dry and feels like eating leather. The place was dirty. I used to cook under chef's so my standards are pretty tough but not tough enough to rate a all you can eat place. the chicken is gross. the Employee's are great... meatloaf is just ok while the steak is flavorful and tasty. a lot of the food is cold on the hot lines. while the cold stuff always have other items mixed in them like they do not watch them. This is hard to rate because the restaurant staff and the food were both decent for a buffet. The problem i found is with other customers. Why do people bring small children here and just turn them loose like it is the chuck e cheese arcade? I have had my feet stepped on, been shoved past by small children most every visit. I will not speak of the atrocities i have witnessed at the chocolate fountain, but trust i will never partake of it. Me and my family came here for breakfast and the selection was pretty good. We got here when the food was pretty fresh and just made, I got a plate with a tiny bit of everything and then got a real plate of food. Most of the meat was edible, I especially enjoyed the candy bacon, it was like ham chunks with a sweet glaze. Basically your run of the mill buffet place, and the service was swell. We have elementary aged kids and tried GC for the first time tonight; we all enjoyed ourselves. The place was hopping but our waitress was great and attentive. The buffet was good and satisfied our picky eaters. My daughter swooned over the chocolate fountain and the soft serve was a hit. Unfortunately the vanilla was not operating but they both liked the chocolate. I liked the fried butterfly shrimp, pot roast and the steak. My steak was medium rare, just as I asked. It was better than expected. The veggies were good, I tried the Brussel sprouts and summer squash and they were very good. It's a buffet, it's casual and comfortable and we enjoyed our experience. It is o.k. It could have been better. Some of the food was not cooked enough and had to leave on the plate. They did get more efficient with the bakery section. Before it was a total mess having people cut there own slices of desserts. Now they have them pre cut on these cute dishes and bowls. Still a pretty good value. read more

Everyone but the manager said "I'm sorry" at least a dozen times, but the manager at the Toledo location must have been too much of a coward to come on take responsibility for the untrained staff preparing to go orders. 1st it came out as 1 meal, supposed to be 4. Instead of working to package the other 3, they came out and wasted time retreiving and going over the single meal while I waited. Then it came out without hush puppies and fries which say on the website are included with the meal. Still no manager, another apology. Then I was told they didn't have hush puppies (the truck didin't deliver them) still waiting. 10 minutes later, now we found hush puppies, and they'll cook them even though we don't think they come with the meal (says so right on the website) but no fries (still waiting) says so right on the same website. Simple enough to read, right? You'd think so, but still no manager. The hostess/cashier does a very good job at making people feel welcome, as for the managment. Low quality food, dirty dishes, dirty serving areas, filthy carpeting I actually stepped in a pile of spaghetti while trying to get to the Buffet, but the worst part of the entire Affair was the unappetizing surroundings and customers. A bunch morbidly obese people milling around with their out of control children. "The scum of Toledo pretty much sums up the customer base," another customer wrote on Google reviews. Also way too expensive. We could have eaten at the Olive Garden for what we paid for our family. $84 for a family of 5. My husband and I attended the Military Appreciation Night tonight. We were standing outside for at least an hour, that was ok. And expected. As we got closer and closer to the main entrance, someone in a cooks outfit came out the front doors into the line of veterans and lit up a cigarette. Walked right in front of my husband and I. My husband has recently quit smoking, and the smell is something we could have went without just before eating. Love this place. Don't know why there are people talking about it being dirty and gross. Best buffet in the USA. I'm big on health department ratings, and Golden Corral gets very high ratings. Best in Toledo. Now with the new owner, a lot of changes have been made. The selection is better and it's fast! you go in, eat cause the foods already cooked, then leave.
