Out of all the businesses I have ever been to, Dr Joseph and his staff provide the single best customer service experience i have ever had. I am not comparing him to another optometrist, I truly mean any business. Dr Joseph is incredibly kind and helpful. While performing my eye exam, every question/concern I had (which was several) was happily answered and explained in a way that I could easily understand. I never felt like he was rushing to end my appointment. He kept making adjustments until i had the best possible outcome. When he was looking at the photo of my eye, I asked if he could explain what he was looking at. He gladly described to me everything that he was looking at, and what exactly that means for my vision. When it was time to pick out my frames, I was the most indecisive I have ever been in my life. The kind woman at the front desk came over to see if I needed any help, and I asked if he she would give her opinion on some of the frames I was thinking about. She gave some great advice and helped me narrow down my choices. I was still a bit unsure, so I asked Dr Joseph if he would share his opinions on the few that i had. He sat down with me and shared, in his opinion, the pro's and con's of each pair. He did not try to up-sale me on an expensive pair. He truly wanted me to choose the pair that I felt was best for me. If you are like me, and are looking at every optometrist within 50 miles for the perfect choice, stop now and go see Dr Joseph. You will not receive a better eye exam or customer service experience anywhere.

During our visit, I was told she could not be seen because of this. When I asked for clarification, I was told there are "places for those people." That response was both unprofessional and disheartening. I understand that not every office has the same level of training or experience, but there is a clear difference between appropriately referring a patient and how that message is communicated. No attempt was made to explore alternative testing methods or accommodations. After sharing my experience publicly, the office responded stating they did not have the training to examine my daughter and chose not to proceed because they would not "do a good job." Families deserve to be treated with respect, even when a provider may not be the right fit. I hope this feedback encourages more awareness and better communication in the future.

I chose this optometry office because it was right next to my local Costco and it accepted my vision insurance. It's a pretty small office inside with 2 exam rooms. The staff and patients were required to wear masks. I was taken to one of the exam rooms and the staff did sanitize all the equipment for the eye exam in front of me. The optometrist who did my eye exam was professional and helpful. He asked me more than once if I still had any questions for him, which was great. My only complaint was that he touched my eyelids during the eye exam with his bare hands. Mind you, he did sanitize them beforehand. I was hoping he'd wear gloves. Overall, I'm still glad I got my eye exam done here.

My biggest advice is to educate yourself on what your insurance truly covers before you go. The doctor was good, but the billing process was concerning. Despite having a high-premium insurance plan--where my out-of-pocket cost for new glasses is usually very low--they attempted to increase my payment by adding unnecessary copays and adjusting tier levels to make me pay more. When I contacted my insurance representative to clarify, the office rep did not want to speak with my insurance and went on to inform me that they had actually stopped accepting my insurance, i guess a minute after I got my insurance rep on the line lol! Communication is our biggest obstacle between client and business and vice versa. We don't think about what could be happening behind the scenes and we aren't able to make adjustments that can fix a situation if we don't communicate. I absolutely love Dr. Somji, he really cares about his business, his staff, his clients and the product he produces. I have trusted Horizon eye care with my vision since well before Dr. Somji became the owner and will continue to do so. When I changed health care companies it was my intent to use my insurance but knowing my doctor and staff was much more important to me. Thus I come back. The selection they have runs the gamut and I must say plays into my vanity. If I am going to wear glasses I at least want to look stylish. We change our clothes with the season, why shouldn't we change our frames too. Glasses are a necessary evil but our eyes can't be replaced so I trust mine to the best.
