I've lived here for over six months. It's honestly a safe Haven for me. And a retirement community of sorts. out my back door There's a lake with ducks walking around and plenty of fish to catch. Even two giant Koi if you're lucky enough to see them took me week to finally see them the first time! There's a park for my dogs and a park for my daughter. If we want to go swimming, there's a pool and a hot tub and sometimes they have special events for everyone to enjoy! They have on site pretty much anything you need. These people are incompetent I would not recommend this place! I travel across the country for a living and I made a reservation to stay here while towing a boat I arrived at 8:30 pm and informed the women prior her name is Jackie -she then wasted my time for about half an hour and then decided I couldnt stay here. read more

If your dog likes to have exercise, this is not the place, unless you like picking up the dog poop their regulars leave in both dog park areas, that the staff then mows instead of picking it up. They dont allow your own dog exercise pens to be out. The bathrooms are ok, except that the showers have no lip OR curtain to stop the water from drenching the floor. They give you 1 hook to hang your towels and bag to keep them dry...so it takes about 15 minutes of playing around with that to even get ready to shower. And more time to get dressed since the whole floor is wet. Seriously put up a curtain, drop your per exercise pen ban, and pick up the dog poop. read more

The desk staff are friendly and there's a tank with tropical fish in the office and they sell standard beer like Bud. The sites are gravel and many need to be covered again. The water pressure is good though the water quality is like 140. I agree with another reviewer that the pictures don't look like the park. The Wi Fi is strong though unsecured. The trash pickup is spotty so we've been tossing it in the dumpster. We're paying $45 a night and $30-$35 would be appropriate. I don't think we'll return even for one night. read more

They have officially one upped the poor management over at Summer Breeze. Congrats, HWRV. They decided to ILEGALLY hold my UPS package from me. Had to call Brookshire PD and they still didn't want to release my package. Do yourself and your family a favor, stay somewhere else. You're bound to get your mail and parcel elsewhere. The manager likes to grill people in front of the other residents as well. She has no regard for anyone's personal life. They obviously don't know the legalities regarding parcel services. Part 2: Yes, I was slightly behind on rent. So what does the man at the counter (Brett) try to say to the officer? TRIES TO EDUCATE HIM ON THE "PENAL CODE", TELLING HIM THERES A MISDEMEANOR AT HAND! HAH. Wanted to get me arrested for being behind on rent. Lmao what a dumbass. The cop then replied with "you know how many people we would be arresting for being behind on rent? It's not happening". Well said. Just wanted my package and instead I got stress. Moral of the story, STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! read more

Being a full time camper with a family this campsite is just not what I thought it would be. The park itself is not great. It's dirty and just looks like an eyesore. We've been here for a couple of months and we can't wait for job change to get out of here. This park has a problem with stray cats. They have torn up the underside of our new camper (the park doesn't seem to care). The WiFi isn't wonderful it's open and unsecured. It seems like once a week they are turning the power or the water off for hours for something without warning. The pond says you can fish in it but because of the moss it's almost impossible. My family decided to go to the pool one afternoon and the pool and hot tube were so nasty the area where the pool is was cover in trash and old food left on the ground. The manager of this park is not very pleasant. If you do stay here I do hope you drive a small car and don't have a big camper because parking is a nightmare and if you are sticking out in the road even just a little bit you will get a visit from the manager. I have also seen the cops in this park at night lights a blazing more often then I would like to. There are people here with yard decorations and then there are some people who aren't allowed to have them. This is not a closed gate park which is also fine but things have gotten stolen and with that being said if you do laundry at night like I do when the kids are asleep good luck because their will not be a washer dryer open due to the outsiders coming in and doing laundry. Also do not rely on them to pick up your trash like they say because half of the time it will sit out all night and you'll get a call from the manager. Long story short I was very disappointed with this park because it's advertised as family friendly but so far it hasn't been very friendly. If I could go back and do things over we would've went to the park down the road and just paid the extra money. read more

This is the ABSOLUTE WORST campground. DO NOT waste your money. The place is extremely dirty, the management is HORRIBLE. Lynette the manager is ok upon arrival after that, she's extremely rude. The property does not look like the photos. We've had plenty of their, the cat infestation is insane. Our brand new camper was damaged due to the cats. It's all gravel and not a safe place as our vehicles were broken in to at one point. There are plenty of other places to go. Do not waste your money here. read more

Spent a couple of nights here while visiting family in the area. Great campground. Clean, safe, easily accessible. Didn't get a chance to fish the big pond, but will definitely stay here next time we come to town! Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

We have stayed at Houston West 1-2 times a year for past 3 years. Always stay a week while visiting family in the area. They've always been friendly but our recent experience (April 2022) was the best yet. The women in the office appear to have been replaced by a super efficient, friendly, helpful gentleman. His efficiency and gentle confidence are what really stood out. I even called 3 days before we arrived and asked for an independant rv tech recommendation when we were parked at a ranch in the boonies and our AC stopped working. He gave us info for a fantastic guy who helped my husband resolve our problem by walking him through troobleshooting over the phone! Love their walk-around pond, dog wash facility, and numerous poop bag stations for our 2 dogs. The park was quiet at night. Maintenance staff was friendly. Grass was mowed and park was clean and orderly. Rules (no junk outside camper) appeared to be inforced better. Rates are reasonable. read more

if I could give no stars, I would! As a traveling worker and a full time RV'er, if you come on this place... keep going. The owners cousin who manages the office is rude, doesn't enforce the rules unless she takes off chasing a car going over their 5mph limit, Like a dog. She seems to be a tired old soul that has been hung out to dry too often and bitter about it. Her answer to any complaint or concern, usually turns it back on you. Glad I left when I did, people smoking meth or crack outside my bedroom window. Done, not safe or clean and being run into the ground with lack of Management WHO CARES! Just keep adding more sites and raising the rent with no added benefits! read more

Don't park next to the welding rigs they drink all night and radio full blast and nobody tells them anything, peeing next to my slide outs while me and my daughter eating dinner ! They give pipeliners a bad name. If only they had security to tell people to bring down the radio it would be an ok place ! Only because of infestation. The park on its on is great. But they are digging putting in new spots. That means the critters are on the run, so very nasty. They started coming up thru my sink in the bathroom. I got spray that didn't work. I have bought foggers so I don't carry them home. So, Unless of course you are prepared and put your place in a bubble with foggers non stop. You will be infested in a week. I'm totally grossed out don't leave your glass on the picnic table unless you don't mind roaches in it. There should be pest control here on a daily basis for atleast 2 weeks or until they are finished digging. Then once a week Til the infestation is over from their digging. Just nasty. read more

My husband and myself were passing through the Houston, TX area on our travels back to North Carolina and decided to stay at Houston West RV park In Brookshire, TX. We decided to stay in the Houston area for the week and stayed for a total of 4 nights (Monday - Friday) at the park. Upon arrival, all staff members were very friendly and helpful in the office for our check in process. They provided us with information about the area, and offered numerous recommendations of things to do and great restaurants to try. All sites at the park are pull through sites that are nice and level. We were able to easily fit our 27' travel trailer along with our two vehicles in our site. There were two bath houses located in the park with one being a new facility offering family style bathrooms. There were two laundry locations within the park - 1 located at the main office and the other at the new bath house. The main office also offered a tv room with reclining chairs along with a library/book exchange area. The main office does have a small convenience store that sells snacks, beer, wine, and various other small things. The park had a small fishing pond that did allow you to catch & release fish from. The park did not offer a dog park/run area, but they did have one in the works that will be located near the pond. There was a dog bath station located on the side of the new bath house that was available for all park residents to use, which was well maintained and nice on sunny days. The park was well maintained during our stay with no visible trash on the grounds and bathrooms/showers always clean. The pool and hot tub were well maintained and very clean. There was free WiFi offered that provided very fast internet speeds that was great for streaming Netflix and movies. The park location was very convenient Katy, TX (12-14min away) and just 35min from downtown Houston, TX. I would definitely recommend the park to anyone passing through the area as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! read more

I was staying there for a little over 6 months and had to take them to court for an illegal eviction and turning the power off while my newborn was inside in the middle of the day. They towed my property and blocked it where I couldn't get it if I wanted too. The neighbors staying there are friendly and supportive though. read more
