Decided to try Howard pork for lunch. I got a carry out. There was only one couple in the restaurant when I was there at 1pm on a Thursday. I'll start with the good things. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Space is clean and modern. The pork was tender. The bun was fresh. The pickles were delicious The description for my sandwich said it was pork butt burnt ends. It was not Burnt ends. It was moist hunks of pork. The meat tasted fresh and was cooked well but, it didn't really have much flavor. It was definitely not smoked or grilled in anyway. It just tasted like slow cooked pork. The sauce on the sandwich was Carolina gold barbecue. It was OK but Carolina sauce is heavy on the mustard. It would be nice if they had a variety of sauces or at least one choice of a red bbq sauce. For my side, I chose southern slaw. It was shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, and a mayo base. There was absolutely no seasoning or kick to the slaw at all. It was so bland. I didn't end up eating the slaw. I wish I had chose a different side. I've never had such a bland coleslaw in my life. All in all, it wasn't bad but it also wasn't great. It was just so so. I would probably go back and try something different. I had the little piggy with southern slaw as my side. I would not order that sandwich or that siagain. But I would give the restaurant another chance. It would also be nice if they stepped up the Decor a bit lol. The walls are plain- nothing hung on them. The shelves are empty. It looks like the restaurant isn't ready to open yet. So maybe they need a decorator lol

The Howard Pork restaurant is a great place to have lunch. The service was amazing and our dishes were so tasty. My salad was fresh, light and delicious. We sat outside in the patio and we had a nice view of the park. The interior design is inviting and chic.

This place, according to the (attentive) waitress, has been open for only three weeks. The food was delicious, and I wish them success!

Excellent food. It's also nice that the bar is kid friendly until they get a liquor license. It's fun to sit there with the whole family. Though my daughter says they shouldn't get a liquor license if it means kids can't sit at the bar anymore.

    Incredible Food

Everything is Great! The food is amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. The non-alcoholic beer (Cerveza) is amazing.

Loved the experience and ambiance of the restaurant, the decor is amazing and service is killer, the bartender is so friendly and sweet, she's been super accommodating the couple of times we've dined in, it's a must check out if you're in the area! The liquor selection is great (both alcoholic and non) the food is the best! And I love how they have special menus during certain times of the year, so you can always come in and try something new

The service was fantastic, even made a few jokes. The place is beautiful and the views are nice. Focaccia - $13 - I asked if this was house made bread, and they said yes, so I went with this over the Burrata appetizer. The bread was fantastic, and the whipped ricotta was delicious. It's simple but very good. 5/5 stars. Lobster Bisque - $15 - Good flavor, decent amount of lobster. I was pleasantly surprised how good this was. 5/5 stars. Cascade Salad - $9 or $14 - This was pretty good as well. A different family member ordered this and I was also pleasantly surprised again. It ALMOST makes me want to order it (if they didn't have lobster bisque). 5/5 stars. 16oz Ribeye with Black Truffle Butter - $78 + $4 - The sear was perfect, the medium rare cook was spot on, and the flavor couldn't be better (well, almost, because my Black Truffle Butter was more like wine butter). Here's my gripe, if you put something was Black Truffle Butter why on earth is there wine?! My body can't process alcohol (which is why I don't drink), and when I taste uncooked alcohol, all I taste is alcohol. So, this was my only gripe. I couldn't taste any truffle, just alcohol. I had to switch with my husband for parts of his New York Strip, and he took the parts of my steak that had the truffle butter. 5/5 stars, but the Truffle Butter 0/5 stars. 14oz New York Strip - $69 - Perfect sear, cook, and flavor. You really can't go wrong with the steaks here. 5/5 stars. Grilled Asparagus - $14 - Perfectly cooked, and not stringy. 5/5 stars. Au Gratin Potatoes - $14 - These potatoes everyone loved. Normally, I'm not a bread crumb topping person, but it works here. 5/5 stars. Mashed Potato - $12 - These are just typical steakhouse mashed potatoes. Smooth and good, you couldn't make them better, but they get outshined by all the other dishes. 5/5 stars. Creme Brulee - $9 - This was to die for. Whatever cream they use is so good. One of the best creme brulees you could ever get. 5/5 stars. I apologize for the lack of picture, apparently I was so excited that I just forgot to take one. This place is one of the best restaurants in Indiana. You need to go here. Just don't get the truffle butter, unless you like alcohol. Everything else is amazing.

Unfortunately we were completely ignored at our table. Several other two-tops got seated and the large party and they were all attended and even got their drinks before anyone greeted us or got our drink order. Eventually we moved tables to something more in the center of the dining room and still no one came to us. It wasn't until I flagged down a group of servers and food runners chit chatting by the corridor to the bathroom that someone finally came to our table. It's a shame the service sucked because the food was delicious. I loved my plum wine and spicy creamy V ramen. I added some extra veggie toppings which I think gets ridiculously pricey considering the ramen is already priced kind of high. My boyfriend had the chicken wings and white rice. He seemed to have enjoyed it. The following time I ordered delivery to avoid the spotty service we received last time. The packaging was great and it arrived early and was nice and hot. The V red fire opal ramen was DELICIOUS. And I'm absolutely obsessed with the matcha tiramisu. Delectable. I still want to try the Flying V harvest ramen. I appreciate they have several vegetarian options, considering the majority of the menu contains pork. Perhaps the next time I dine in and the service is improved they'll get that 5th star.

Last night was my first visit to Fiddler's Hearth, despite wanting to check this place out ever since I started dating my boyfriend, who lives in South Bend, a year and a half ago! Their regular menu looks sooooo good and their restaurant week menu also looked good! Just a note - only 2 of the items on their restaurant week menu appear on the regular menu, so get these unique dishes while you can these next two weeks! Like I said, I have been wanting to check out this SB institution for ages! Inside is adorable and absolutely maximalist. My minimalist mom would have a heart attack coming in here. So despite it being -5 degrees out, Fiddler's Hearth was packed and we were glad we made reservations. It was the first day they had the special restaurant week so it did take 2 hours for us to get through and finish everything because the kitchen had to make all these new items but I won't fault the restaurant for that in my review today. I am sure it is normally a well-oiled machine. My bf and I both got different things off of the menu but ended up splitting so we could try lots of different Irish foods. We started off sipping in some unique alcoholic drinks. I got the shamrock coffee which had Baileys and mocha. He got the restaurant week special of a pear and allspice old fashioned. His drink was very strong. Mine was delightful and I was a happy camper sipping mine. Round one goes to me for choosing the best drink. The drinks were about $9 for the old fashioned and $7 for the spiked coffee. Next round was our first course, the appetizer. He got the steak pie (a mini version of the Guiness Steak Pie on the normal menu) for the appetizer which was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC and seasoned to perfection with lots of onions. I got the potato and leek colcannon cakes for the appetizer which were very leek heavy on the taste. I liked it but agreed his appetizer was the winner. Next up to the plate were our entrees. He paid $3 additional dollars for their take on a salmon wellington. It came with a side of brussel sprouts and potatoes. I chose to be a fatty and get the patty melt with medium rare prime rib, stone ground mustard, grilled onions, and a side of pretty yummy chips (ie French fries). It was a very wet sandwich haha. I personally think mine was the better one, while my bf thought his was the best. Sometimes, you just need a really wet and juicy sandwich!! Haha! Last but not least was our desserts. He was the winner here but just barely. His bread pudding was a calorie heavy delight, smothered in a white chocolate sauce. Mine was a cute little classic Irish dessert, a cranachan, which was sort of like a trifle. On top was a moist and chewy gingerbread cookie. In total, our bill was a little over $100 for tax and tip. A little expensive, sure, but we had a great time and came home very full! I will be back!

We waited a moment for our food, but with our large group, we were happy to do so as the food was worth the wait! I have not yet had the pleasure of trying anything off of Fatbird's normal menu. I'll try to keep this review quick since it is pretty specific but long story short, we loved the unique and well made food and the service and vibes were great! So while Fatbird is known for their chicken sandwiches, my bf and I ordered the $40 lunch for two from this special 2026 menu, which was heavily indigenous Latin American-inspired in the ingredients. For the starter, we shared 8 sweet plantains slices which were yummy but we wish we had more. Then for our main, we split one grilled jerk chicken sandwich with VERY unique ingredients like a pickled green tomato as well as two creative tacos with tender shredded pork and more pickled veg. The tacos were spicy as heck and definitely not for the faint of heart! Lastly, we split a small bowl of arrow con leche brule, which helped bring the heat down from the tacos. While we didn't leave full, we had fun trying a curated and very unique set of dishes with interesting flavors, textures, and spices. The other 4 people we ate lunch with ordered a variety of stuff from the normal menu, some of which are in my attached pictures. My bf also ordered himself a pineapple tepache to sip on, which was $8, and I got myself a diet coke with lemon ($3). Our waitress was on top of her game and was very friendly. The interior is cute and spacious and the bathroom is cute and clean. I love a clean bathroom! Their normal menu has 8000 things I want to try next time! As for this special menu lunch, we paid, after tax, tip, and a credit card surcharge, a total of $67. A bit high for lunch, but good vibes all around!
