Their workers are polite and professional. They are on the job everyday from start to finish. No skipping days to work elsewhere. They even worked the weekends to meet job schedule. Just like a few other reviews.. Ryan was a good talker. His workers were top notch and THEY get 5 stars for the work they did! We agreed to have Ryan do our backyard work. It was to be in 4 phases. His workers completed phases 1 and 2. I didn't here from Ryan after that. I sent him a text message and called him two times asking about the next phase, he did NOT REPLY to my text message and did NOT CALL me back. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! Ryan, if you're reading this.. We had all the concrete, sprinklers, and grass removed from our backyard. Artificial grass, micro drip sprinklers, low voltage landscape lights, flower beds and new plants were placed. Concrete was placed in our large patio area and color was applied, and a different color concrete and finish with drains were placed around our pool. They even put in an automatic water fill for our pool and fixed a small leak from the pool light. Ryan and his crew did an excellent job! The crew were there every day in a timely manner. Ryan would come over every morning to answer any questions we had and offer suggestions. Ryan was readily available by phone also. Everyone was polite and kept our backyard clean during the construction. They even worked around our 3 dogs - which was a concern for us during the process. Read this before hiring this company to do your cement and patio cover: I want to start off by saying that all of the owners workers, the ones who prepped for the cement, the ones who poured and detailed the cement, and the ones who installed our alumawood patio cover were very professional and courteous. They all cleaned up their mess and were meticulous in their work. Even the company's s secretaries were polite and nice to deal with. I would give them 5 stars... With that said, the owner of this company does not get 5 stars. He was not professional and not a good communicator. Maybe it was because "he was not making that much money off of us" like he said. He was very short and rude on the phone with us when we would call with questions. It even got to the point where I had my husband call him from work with questions because I did not want to deal with him anymore. First of all, he cashed our deposit check and never called us to schedule a start date for our project, I had to call him 3 weeks later to ask for a start date. Secondly, he said he was going to come by with a drawing/plans of what our cement and patio would be like, he never came...the next day they were supposed to come start the work, but no one showed up. I took a day off from work so I could be there for the start of work, when we called to ask what happened, Ryan the owner just said oh sorry it rained yesterday so we couldn't start the work...well it would have been nice of him to call and tell us that so I could have gone to work after all. Once the cement was poured he called because something happened to my second check so I had to write him another one, and he told us to be home on Monday so I could be there to tell him how I wanted the mow curb to be made, well once again I did not go anywhere and he did not show up. We were wondering when our patio would be installed and had to call him to ask about when that would happen. He said oh yea on Tuesday we will come and do the patio and put your mow curb in...well the patio got done but he never sent anyone to do the mow curb or told us why no one was coming to do it. So 1 week later he calls to set up a day to put the mow curb in...overall to get our work done by him it took more than a month! No communication at all from Ryan's part...I will never use Hoy Contractors for future work in my house or recommend him to anyone just because of the owner Ryan. read more

Excellent company! They redid my whole backyard and pool adding all rock to my pool and making a 8 foot Rock waterslide. They redid all my concrete in designer stamped antique style concrete and redid all my landscaping as well. They built me a new BBQ island and adding trees and lights to my whole back and front yard! They made my yards and pool look like something out of a magazine for way less of a price then others quoted me. Ryan the owner was very professional the whole time and always showed up when he said he would be there. Never tried to get me for extra money than originally quoted and did everything he promised by the deadline he gave. His staff were all very friendly as well as they worked about a month everyday at my house where my wife and kids were home all day and enjoyed all their respectfulness. I agree with one of the other yelp reviewers... Hoy Construction is not reliable for follow through. Ryan came over to my home for an estimate on a front yard landscaping job. I enjoyed meeting him and was excited for his estimate-- took two weeks for that to get to me, and came only after I called and emailed a few times. I wanted to ask a few more questions, but could never get a hold of Ryan again-- despite two voicemails on his cell, a text to his wife Candace, and an email as well. It's a shame too because I was trying to let them know that I doubled my budget and wanted to expand the job. I guess they were too busy to waste their time with my business. Do yourself a favor and find a landscaper/construction company that will follow through with commitment and communication. read more

Ryan is so great. He gave us a fair quote and worked with our association to ensure that everything got approved. His guys were on time and hardworking. A couple of problems came up during the job and he took care of them no problem and didn't even charge us extra. Everyone did a great job and the whole experience was pleasant.
