We went there for an event and the staff ensured everyone was taken care of and had a wonderful time. 2. The location. The courts are located on the 4th floor of City Point and what makes that cool is you can explore shopping, food, and movies before or after your tennis session, all within the same building. We did just that and it added to the experience. 3. The cleanliness of the facility. Everything from the courts to the restrooms were top notch. 4. The trainers. We got to meet and work with a couple of different trainers. They were engaging, warm, and could clearly teach any level. I have been playing tennis for years and still walked away learning something new. I love when that happens. Thank you to everyone @ Court 16 - Brooklyn for being amazing. The decor itself is very much classic Americana, with deep blue carpets the hallways, giant rugs, and paintings and art and statues everywhere. We were invited there to go to a charity poker tourney, I think one of the partners was a member there, and women were allowed as it was a charity/social event. One note - all members and guests were required to wear suit & tie. They have spare ties if you didn't have one with you. If you had a bag, there was a coat and bag check near the front. Member names I think on the wall behind the concierge, and you had a room at the front if you insisted on talking on a phone.

Prices are not cheap, but to be honest that just seems competitive with and comparable to other city tennis options. if there's something to complain about here, I guess it's a certain segment of the clientele. It's a mix of amateur enthusiasts just having a good time like myself and, you know...some people who think they're one lesson away from topping Roger or Serena and stalk around in a Johnny Mc mood. So while many are friendly people sharing the court with you, may have to deal with some snarling if a ball goes awry into another court or there's a second delay in court changeover. Don't really think that's McCarren's fault though--I just roll my eyes and go back to enjoying my fun little tennis hobby.

Contacted them to transfer those credits over to the new system, but they did not respond to either email or phone calls. Now those $600+ worth of credits are going to expire, so paid them for nothing.

Alas, thanks to Google, I saw 6 outdoor hardcourts at this park called Fort Greene (never been to Fort Greene Park before). We went on a sunny workday afternoon. There are 6 courts and during the hour we played, 5 of them were taken. There was a NYC Parks and Rec lady working the courts checking for NY Tennis Permits. So your tennis permit is valid and required here. There are a couple long arteries of cracks that go through all courts. Oddly enough, the ball kept on finding those cracks and making funny bounces. Courts 3-4 are the best with 1 being the worst. Short weeds are also growing out of the cracks. But you know what, it's an available tennis court near work. In a city such as NY where tennis time is highly sought after, I wasn't about to complain. We had a great time during that sunny day hitting a few tennis balls on the court.

Take the elevator to the 4th floor. I use the mind body app to book my lessons and ball machine use on the practice court. So there's one full sized court when you come in and upstairs is a half-Court sized practice court. They offer deals on their packages year round and unless you're booking a court during prime time, are surprisingly affordable. I had my first lesson today and found the pro very helpful and amiable. You can rent the court until 2 am and beyond if you're a wealthy insomniac.
