Zero stars is unavailable, but that's what they deserve! You must spend weeks upon weeks submitting and re-submitting the same docs that the claims dept never receives or "can't see" online. You must diligently check every day after you file a claim to be sure it is progressing. You will receive a denial with no explanation, have to research the claim on your own, then contact customer service SEVERAL TIMES and still receive no real answer, and ultimately have to redo the claim at least once, but usually 2-3 times. You will always have weeks of delayed payments while they try to figure out if they will even send YOUR money to you! I've had thousand-dollar claims remain un-reimbursed because of the sheer incompetency of everyone associated with HRC! I do NOT RECOMMEND! After 5+ years of this inaptitude, I implore you to beg your HR dept to reconsider hiring this company! read more

Years ago, HRC was an excellent company to business with. And, in those days, I was the HR Manager and the one who recommended vendors for service. In the last couple of years at my current company, they have degraded remarkably. Customer service is polite, but not always competent. Last year, I spent three months with several different people trying to get a claim approved with the same receipt that always had all of the required information on it until I was literally crying over the phone with a supervisor and she apologized and agreed and approved my claim. Annually, I have to get a letter of medical necessity for therapeutic massage. Every year this has either been a short letter on letter head from my PCP or a one line note on a script. This year I was reminded my letter was due and I was already in the process of getting it from my PCP. This took WEEKS because my doctor is old school and doesn't have a lot of staff or use modern technology. The same day I received it via US mail I scanned and sent it to HRC. In response, I got an email saying I have to use a specific form. I have NEVER had to use a specific form before and, additionally, I was NEVER notified of a policy change OR a need for a specific form when reminded that last year's letter was expired. I have had issues with other claims as well with receipts that are EXACTLY THE SAME IN FORMAT as other receipts that are approved. There is no consistency in policies and terrible communication. I am seriously considering just paying for my medical expenses post tax next year because I have never been so frustrated with a company in my life. I have spoken to people with FSAs through other companies and I know of nobody else who experiences the issues I do. Were I still an HR professional or otherwise the one negotiating for flexible spending services, I would never again choose to do business with HRC. As it stands now, I have filed complaints with my internal HR and suggested that the co-workers I know who are having similar issues do the same. Buyer beware. read more

This company is terrible and I will not be putting any money into an FSA account with them next year. How can you require a letter of medical necessity for FSA eligible items? This is money that I have set aside to use on medical supplies and expenses, I didnt agree to only what your company deems necessary. I have quite a bit of money that I dont even know what I can do with since they apparently have to approve everything. Never again. read more

They are the Comcast of FSA Administration. Benefit managers, if you value the time of your employees, look elsewhere for your FSA / Reimbursement company. I've had several FSA accounts before. None approached the hassle HRC creates - demanding very specific paperwork for every claim - even repetitious, small value claims that were previously vetted (under $20). And once you've provided the paperwork, it would always be rejected - even if it met their requirements, even if they'd taken the same version of proof beforehand, even if was obviously a valid claim (no one gets an xray for fun). I would literally cringe every time I used my FSA card because I could feel the hours of paperwork coming my way. This company literally demanded that I provide documentation from a psychiatric counselor stating the reason for the visit - ie, a diagnosis, and would accept nothing less to show it was medically necessary. The experience was absolutely humiliating. Even my doctor had never heard of such a thing. And this was an experience relived with every appointment. I wish the leadership of this company a lifetime of good health, because I'd hate to think of the bad karma they've accumulated in the medical billing arena. read more

Every time I get a prescription HRC charges it under my FSA Instead of my HRA account and it is extremely frustrating having to get this resolved every time I get a prescription. read more

They are the worst, especially with Customer Service. As a consumer I'm being asked to investigate where a payment goes which is There job and what they were hired to do. I would tell any company NOT to use them, unless you really dislike your employees and what to make them suffer then HRC is for you. read more

Run from this company! Vermont shut down everything given covid and dentists are still closed. I can't get my crown procedure due to this, my appt has been cancelled multiple times due to the governor's orders and these guys won't give an extension instead they are literally stealing my money! On top of that every charge I put through they just deny! I'm going to the Attorney General's office on this. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Every claim unless it is the FSA store online site or CVS will be denied without explanation. They always want custom receipts. They will ask you ten times for more receipts. No explanations ever given.i wouldn't use this company. Multiple your tax rate by the amount you put in. The aggravation isn't worth it. Borrow out of your 401k over 1 year and pay yourself interest and no wasting your time with endless requests from this place. Customer service people are polite. The company has major accounting and clerical problems. Accounts receivable runs 3-5 weeks behind. Unable to perform at moderate standards of services they offer at a basic level. It is required that you check monthly the services they provide in order to catch problems early. Follow up on every detail is a must. I have found billing errors monthly, cancelled insurance policies that are paid in full, and receiving accurate information from them in writing is next to impossible; all that being said, did I mention the girls in their customer service are nice? read more

All of these reviews are completely spot on. Customer service is horrible. They never have an answer for you and just give you the run around. They charge you a $20 fee to make a payment and blame it on their bank. It takes days for them to get back to you, that is if they ever do. Use another 3rd party provider!! I have used a flexible spending account with two other companies over the past ten years, and always had easy to use ,positive experiences. This company makes everything difficult and communication is horrendous! They will only accept letters of medical necessity for over the counter eligible items. Any other company I ever dealt with accepted prescriptions! Ridiculous to ask your md to write a letter of medical necessity for each over the counter item. The aggrivation they create is not worth the tax savings!! Wish I could put 0 stars! read more

I worked at a company that used HRC as their FSA/DCFSA administrator. I never had a claim go through without issues. I'd make a submission, have it denied, fix whatever they wanted me to fix, have it denied again, fix it again, and then it would pass. Then I'd submit another expense, with the EXACT same format as what had been used last time and they approved, and it'd get denied again. An absurd amount of trouble getting eligible expenses approved. The same issues over and over and over. They want custom receipts for everything, which is ridiculous. Most recently I lost a bunch of money from my Dependent Care FSA because the startup I worked at went under and HRC didn't inform anyone that there was a deadline to submit expenses. Shame on me for not figuring this out beforehand, but the response I got from them was rude. There's a reason this company only has 1 star reviews. Don't use them. read more
