I love this office. They have very polite staff and the two doctors I have seen there were both well informed, and often use a combination of holistic and modern care. I have been going to HSHS for 5 years, even when I moved out of state, the commute was worth it for such amazing healthcare. My favorite thing about this office is that they usually as you "is there anything else?" They really listen to their patients. Ok if you are a healthy person. I have several disabilities and I felt they were overwhelmed and unprepared to deal with me. As a matter of fact after my initial appointment the doctor told me I took up too much of his time and that was never going to happen again. However their APN is Mahvelous! So 2 stars because of her. The Dr I saw really did not like to be contradicted and not open to learning anything new especially not from a lowly patient. Now HSHS has decided a referral is required to see a specialist regardless of what kind of insurance you have. Way too much trouble. I suspect this is a way to increase revenue. read more

Tara Helfrich, APN in fairview heights is by far the best doctor I've ever been to. She genuinely cares about your wellbeing. I always feel like I can tell her anything and not feel judged. She has wonderful bedside manner. She truly helped guide me in the direction i wanted my life to go. I feel myself again, and it's all because of this women! The staff there is wonderful ,very friendly. And the building is very clean and modern. I normally dread going to the doctor and ever since I started seeing APN Tara Helfrich that feeling no longer exists, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her! read more

HSHS Dr. Crowe was a great doctor. If he was still working there, I would be giving them 5 stars. But, Dr. Crowe went to a new position outside of HSHS and the doctors and staff that were left at the office in Fairview Heights just said he's gone and too bad for you. We have no room for you here and current doctors will not take you. I was referred to other offices, neither of which were convenient. This is the second time HSHS has done this to me and my family of 8. I will not go to another HSHS doctor to be left high and dry with no help or thought about me as a customer. My wife has been using an HSHS nurse practitioner in Collinsville who has not been pleasant to deal with. This office and the NP have taken over 6 days to take care of prescriptions only after daily calls and much prodding and doing a sit-in in their office where I insisted something be done or I would not leave their office. Magically the prescription got called into the pharmacy. HSHS business model is good but their attention to customer service and empathy towards patients is so lacking I would venture to say it's non-existent. I would never recommend this office to anyone. We use to see Dr. Lee with HSHS in O'Fallon, when he moved to California we were forced to switch locations. The FVH location only had one Dr that was accepting new patients, Dr. Tara Helfrich. I switched my entire family to her, big mistake! She misdiagnosed everyone in my family! My husband whom is 27, was told he had shingles. She mentioned that she has seen a lot of patients lately in their 20's with shingles, I thought that extremely odd since less than 1% of shingle cases are people in their 20's, after taking the Medication and not getting better, I told him to go to ER, since I never thought it to be shingles, from what I read, it looked nothing like it and he didn't have blisters. Turned out, he had bed bug bites from sleeping on a friends couch. A few weeks later, my daughter broke out with a head to toe rash, the only place she didn't have the rash was her bikini area. Dr. Helfrich diagnosed her with a spider bite, I'm not a doctor, but I knew she once again was wrong, After a week of her not getting better with the meds, I took her to ER, and she had something that comes from a lake, and I even remember her telling the dr that she was swimming in the lake the day prior. I asked the office to allow us to switch doctors, they said no. They don't allow you to switch dr's in their practice, that we would have to find a new doctor. My family had been with HSHS for over 10 years, and this was the only option they were given us! I spoke to the office manager and explained the situation and she didn't care. We had to call the insurance, switch everyones primary doctor, get all new cards, pay to have everyones medical records moved and then we had to find a new doctor taking patients and make everyone new patient exam appointments. so, No, I would never recommend this practice to anyone! read more
