What a great place! I went to several thrift stores on the same day and this one was my favorite. I was looking for more or less modern-ish pieces to add to my new house and I felt that this thrift store had a great selection of items that were in fantastic condition. One thing to keep in mind: you have to have $5 worth of merchandise to use your credit card. I found that while it didn't have signs as to what was where, the way they organized the space made it easy to find things I needed. Will definitely return here! read more

So well organized that it was really easy to look for stuff. The items were a little more expensive then at say a Goodwill, but everything was good quality. I found a couple really cute picnic baskets, jars, games (with all the pieces!), and furniture. I will continue to stop by this shop and see what goodies they have. read more

If you are someone that loves hitting the thrift stores, you will love the Humane Society Thrift store on Speedway. I am new to the area, shopping the city to furnish a home from scratch, and I have scored some amazing treasures from this shop! It is such a great find I hate to even share it. But...If you are looking for home furnishings, clothes, or pet items...you need to hit this store. The employees/volunteers are friendly and helpful, the place is clean and well organized, and certainly the proceeds go to a good cause. I bought a glass panel doggie door for my patio door on my last trip and saved several hundred dollars over retail!! Check it out. I may see you there. My favorite thrift store and proceeds go to a great cause. I donate exclusively to this thrift store as do my friends and clients. HSSA Thrift Store seems to have better quality items than found in many other stores. Maybe because many donors have adopted their furry babies from HSSA and bring them the "good stuff". Not being cluttered, it's easy to browse and you don't feel like you need to shower or to wash your hands when you leave. The wonderful HSSA volunteers keep the store clean, tidy, and organized. and are always cheerful and patient. Bring items to donate and HSSA volunteers offer to help you carry things from your car. IMO, prices are inexpensive to moderate (on a thrift store pricing scale) depending what you buy. Books, including best sellers, hardcover or paperback, are the best prices in town. Kitchen counter appliances like coffee makers, juicers, or toaster ovens may be priced a bit higher than other thrift stores but they appear to be newer and of better quality. Looking for curtains or throw pillows from Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel? Want to try your pasta making skills and need a pasta maker? Need some nice picture frames? How about an extra lamp? Great deals to be had here! They sell new, vintage, and one-of-a-kind items. It's amazing what people have donated. And not to worry...they have electrical outlets for your use to test anything needing power so you're satisfied it works before you buy. Unless there's a play happening in the Live "Theatre Workshop" next door, parking in the lot is a snap. Located on the north side of Speedway just west of Craycroft in the same shopping center as "Something Sweet" and the Jamaican Restaurant that will be open soon. The beauty of HS thrift store is its selection of inexpensive, clean pet accoutrement which is a true rarity in Tucson. HS has a huge space and sells donated items ranging from low end clothing to furniture, but the selection of bird cages, reptile digs, dog carriers and pet playthings is impressive. A collapsible water dish costs $15 at Petsmart and the same item was $2 here. In today's gloomy economy, pet thrifting just makes sense. Large store with great staff and good prices keeps me coming back to this thrift store. I enjoy their decent selection of furniture, pictures and frames, and home decor items. The shelves aren't jam-packed with so much stuff that you can't find anything. Instead, everything is well laid out so you can browse and get a good look at what they have. They even have some electronics that look to be in decent shape (all marked with "tested/working" tags) instead of a few shelves of random hardware from the 60's/70's as some stores seem to carry. In another back corner they have a decent sized selection of books, games, videos, and "knick-knacks" - even some sporting goods, almost always in good looking condition. Prices are very reasonable, although the occasional *good* furniture is relatively high for a thrift store. Then again, quality is quality and you're helping a good cause and it's still far cheaper than new so you know you're getting a good deal. So, for decent selection on furniture, home decorations, books, and games - this is a great store that doesn't feel too crowded. (I've not shopped the clothing here so no comments on that.) read more

Small but cute thrift store located conveniently in Central and your donation and/or purchases helps the Humane Society. Their selection isn't huge but I feel that it's higher quality than what you'd find at some of the other thrift stores, where you have to go through a lot of damaged pieces to find something good. I was able to find some cute things in good condition that fit well for a great price! They've also got furniture, books, videos etc. in addition to clothes. I absolutely love this thrift store. All of the profits go towards animals in need, which to me is great motivation to spend lots of money ;) the store carries mainly clothing and shoes, books, knick knacks and glassware, odds and ends, and furniture. They also recently added a boutique area which houses some higher -end merchandise. The prices are super reasonable and priced by types of item. I.e, all shirts are 1 dollar. They also take donations as well! read more

This store has just continued to get better and better over the last two or three years. The manager has made incredible changes to the sales floor to make it more easily shoppable, her price points are spot on, and she always provides incredible customer service to all shoppers. It's so nice to walk into a business that's constantly evolving and see the same friendly faces always there to greet you! Great merchandise, beautiful store, and a great manager. I went shopping at the thrift store this past weekend and I must say the team makes it the best experience! There was 2 young ladies working the front of the store, one was the store supervisor and one a sales associate. They were amazing, helpful and kind even when people were acting crazy towards them over pricing they stood their ground in a professional and kind way. They made my experience! Fabulous Thrift Store! Awesome finds at great prices, friendly/fun staff and dog friendly - what more could you ask for?

Maggie-the-cretin (aka my dog) and I went in (yes, you can take your cretin in too) to get her a harness. This harness is the last resort to walking my pupper. She has a Martingdale collar, a regular collar, training (which I haven't really reinforced as well as I should because I don't have 17 hours a day: my bad), and a nose harness thingie, and she still pulls down the street like the little engine that could. So we go in, and immediately, the staff, especially the nice tall lady with the cute shoulder-length hair is helping me FIT a harness on the squirmiest cretin you ever met, treats at the ready. It's like I've dressed her in tutus in the past, the way she acts when you try to put a collar on her, I swear. Anyway, Sara/h found a Gentle Leader for Maggie for $4 and helped me put it on, at least to determine whether it would fit. It does. Squirm City here wouldn't permit me to shop, but let's just say, we'll be back. It doesn't look like Maggie is going to pull anymore. I think we found our solution. The kind people at this animal-oriented thrift store with a huge parking lot and nice stuff may have changed my and my dog's life and improved our health. This is it for them ! As an eBay seller, I always have items left over which so far have been donated to this thrift shop. Today (Friday July 12th) we were going to the theater in the same complex, and had some extra time, so went into the thrift store. We were there barely 2 minutes, when one of the workers came over to us, and told my husband that he cannot carry a bottle of water inside the store. When he asked why, she said it was too dangerous and any bottle of water had to be left at the front desk. That's it ! When it is 100 or so degrees, and EVERYBODY advises to carry water with you, and we can take it into Dillard's, Safeway, Starbucks and every thrift store we have ever been into, for someone to tell us that we cannot have our water with us in this type of heat, they can forget about any future donations from us. By the way, we are senior citizens, and we do not go anywhere without our water. read more

This thrift store mainly gets the stars because it's supporting a great cause. They have a lot of items, but most of it is kind of overpriced (this is the same problem I have with Goodwill--if you got it for free, charging more than it'd be worth new isn't good business IMO). I am so grateful that the Humane Society has this thrift store, so I can donate items to benefit animals! I know they cannot completely control the products they sell because they have to rely on the generosity of donors, and the variety of items donated. Since i want to do all I can for critters, I donate the best items I can find in my home whenever it's time to clear space in my closets and shelves, or change furnishings. I appreciate the people who work there, as it is clear to me they care about animals too. I choose to give to this thrift store over any other, because this is my charitable organization of choice. read more

This terrific thrift store offers a wide variety of items at great prices plus offers senior and military discounts on certain days. I've found many bargains there and shop there often.
