I was ready in no time! To start the instructor warms you up with jumping jacks, jump rope and burpees- amongst other things- & then you get to business. You then head downstairs, where you will be greeted by the staff before going through the turnstiles. The locker room area was cute. I especially enjoyed the vanity area, where you can blow dry your hair, do your makeup, and more. The rock climbing class was awesome. The climbing wall wasn't big, as it wasn't a main aspect of the gym. In the 2 hours, we learned how to tie a knot to be able to secure your harness, as well as how to belay. The instructor was super patient with us. The class was just my 2 friends, and although it was originally 5 people, any more would have not been enough time to do much. Learning the proper techniques on how to even climb, and how to position yourself on the wall is a whole other class! I give major respect to those who know how to rock climb professionally. While I absolutely suck and may have screamed my way down the wall, the informative beginner class maybe just maybe made me lowkey interested in improving. They have upper body, lower body, full body and beginner classes. I ended up taking 10 classes total within my 2-week trial and loved every class I took. All the trainers are very positive, high energy and knowledgeable about different techniques. I felt and saw my body get stronger and leaner in such a short amount of time. I've trained at many other Gracie Academies, both in the United States and Brazil, and Renzo's has always been my favorite. You get it all, BJJ, MMA, Kickboxing, NoGi Grappling, and Kids classes. You also gain access to the widest variety of high level training partners imaginable. On any given day you'll run into UFC Fighters, world BJJ Champions, ADCC Champions, and movie stars. It's pretty cool. I know people are always complaining about the price and how expensive it is. Yes, it's not cheap to train at Renzo's, but like they always say, "you get what you pay for". And that's exactly it, you pay more money sure but what you get in return is absolutely worth the expense. As you descend, you'll find the signature group fitness classes in equally as modern and cool rooms like GTX, CTR, Alpha, etc. There is also a salon at this location which I thought was really cool. The CTR room here was nicer than others I've been to, as it has plenty of mirrors and great mood lighting for a focused, slow burn class. The CTR class I took here was just ok, the instructor was friendly but a little all over the place. I'd love to return here and appreciate the up to date amenities and super convenient location for working fitness enthusiasts.
