The stars is for the gym area and the actual workout only. The showers are a whole other story! I've been to 2 classes at Title with Michael, and he is a beast! The warmup will more than warm you up, and the rest of the class is also just go-go-go! And unlike some other gyms, I feel their workouts are geared towards people of all levels and are serious about boxing and not just the cardio. And Michael will make sure you start your morning by giving everything to your workout! The space is also great, the entire staff is wide awake and helpful early in the morning. The equipment is kept ship shape, and you won't be sinking your hands into sweaty gloves (happens too often at other gyms!) My only qualm is the number of showers, especially for the ladies- there is usually a long line, so leave yourself some time, or come organized with your stuff and get a bag close to the restrooms so you can get to the showers first if you're in a hurry! read more

Managed to close up my membership after 7 months of constant attemtps...Please read my full story below. I was moving to LA in December 2018, so i called them in September and asked, what i need to cancel my membership. They told me that i need to come and sign the form and email to the mamangement. I did it...And they told me, i need to show them the prove of my future leaving the state. After i provided everything to them, the manager told me that they made a note to my account. Couple of days ago, collectors contacted me saying that i owe them $800.00... as they never cancelled my membership. After i forwarded my discussion with the manager, they said that my outstanding balance will be $180. After i paid it, the said they cancelled my membership. This location is close to my office with a convenient schedule. I took a Tuesday evening class, thinking I may switch from my current boxing gym. There is absolutely NO WAY this location will ever receive any more $ or a recommendation from me. I took the class with a West Virgina Title Member, who's a friend of mine. She's always raving about how great the workouts are. When we got there, I had to pay $40 for a class (not worth it) and my friend had to pay $20. The person who checked us in was completely unappreciative of the recommendation, and proceeded to tell my friend there may not be a space for her due to the time of class and her being a "non-member". We ignored the ignorance and proceeded to enter class, as there were plenty of available bags. About 15 minutes into class, the same person came over and told my friend class was packed and she had to give up her bag to another member. The poor member looked horrified, and even offered to sit it out. The two of us ended up having to SHARE a bag because this location is so rude and unaccommodating. If I weren't there my friend would have been sharing a bag with a complete stranger, for a $20 cost! I've never heard of such backward practices, and would NEVER consider a membership there. The workout was okay, but certainly not worth the cost or aggravation. My current CKO membership is far more rewarding, and where I'm staying! Signed up for a 6 month package and paid for the full amount up front, after freezing my membership for 2 months i went back, turns out they never froze my membership when i had asked and my membership expired before it should have. When i told them in person i wanted to cancel and not extend passed the 6 months they told me to send them an email. I sent them an email and thought everything was taken care of. They continued to charge my credit card for 2 extra months (~$160 each month). I disputed with my CC company who took it off and title sent my "debt" to collections. STAY AWAY, there a bunch of thieves update 2/6/17 still fighting with them been one headache after another. been over 3 months now and nothing has been resolved read more

The staff was super helpful ! It was my first time at title boxing club. The staff gave me wraps for free since it was my first class, and the class cost $35. For an hour I think that's a pretty good price. The instructor was very encouraging but it was a bit hard to understand or see what he was saying and doing since there were so many people. You definitely have to know something about boxing before coming. They have lockers to put in your belongings, as well as a bathroom. I'll definitely come back but next time will be choosing to go closer to the center of the ring to get a better view. Definitely recommend, and also use the class pass app to sign up! read more

I came here twice using my ClassPass, and I am hooked!!! This place is freaking amazing. They work you out to your death. You leave feeling defeated but soooo good at the same time. 60 minute class consisting of a 15 warm up (doesn't feel like warm up at all) + eight 3-minute rounds + 15 minute core. I am drenched in sweat the end of my work out. I took classes with Yahaira and Francisco. I liked Francisco better because he was more attentive in terms of correcting form. He was constantly walking around the room making sure everyone was doing the moves correctly. He was also doing the moves along with us more so than Yahaira. read more

Loved this place until the day I tried to cancel my contract. The contact stated you have to give them is a 32 days notice before you can cancel. That's pretty shitty, but I was an idiot for not reading the contract before signing. However, when you do try to give notice you get the run-around. First they tell you you have to come in in person. Then they tell you the person you need to see is only in on certain days for limited hours. Then they tell you to call somebody who never gets back to you. It just keeps on going. Now they are closed and not answering the phones and they are still billing me. It's a total scam. read more

It's been about half a year since I signed up for Title full-time after ditching my ClassPass membership and I have seen amazing results. I was able to PR a 10K with ZERO training other than attending Title classes 3-4 times a week and have noticeably toned my legs, arms, and core. No kidding, I started not even being able to do 5 push-ups in a row, and those days are long gone. I have also rotated between several different trainers and have loved all of their classes - each has their own teaching technique and it's always fun to mix it up now and then. I have had literally no complaints since I started my membership here and, even though I live on the opposite side of the city, it is 100% worth the money, time, and commitment. Title's trainers will always push you to try your best and give you the motivation you need to improve your fitness. It was and continues to be one of the best decisions I've made since moving to NYC. What are you waiting for?! read more

Full disclosure: this is NOT a boxing gym. This is a CARDIO "boxing" gym. I have boxed for over a year now and thank god have the fundamentals to dive right into these classes. However, had I not already learned how to properly throw a punch, I could easily see myself getting hurt within the first couple classes. The instructors may be very qualified boxers but they are definitely not qualified teachers. In a class of up to 40 people (mostly newbies) even if they wanted to they wouldn't have the time to teach proper technique. YOU'RE ASKING TO GET HURT IF YOU JOIN THIS GYM WITHOUT TRAINING. On the contrary, if you are a somewhat experienced boxer then this also isn't the gym for you. The classes are boring and repetitive. Literally the exact same class over and over with a different face barking at you. Not to mention, it's a NO CONTACT GYM. I can understand this so far as they don't want people jumping in the ring before they're ready, but THEY WILL CHARGE YOU $150+ JUST TO DO AN HOUR OF MIT WORK! In a "boxing" gym. That's archaic. In short, if you're looking to over-pay to break your wrist while repeating the same class on loop a few times a week...congrats, you found the gym of your dreams. read more

This is clearly a conglomerate business. They ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to provide any information to interested clients over the phone. I had to ask the person who answered the phone three times that they could not provide any information on membership to me as someone interested in spending serious money to get in a good workout. Finally, he conceded and said that he could not provide information on rates and membership (which sounds like they want to see you in person and gauge whether you look like money before they give you a quote) over the phone. But, he finally agreed to discuss the classes with me. I told him on the official Title Boxing website there are no classes listed. He then said that I would have to go to their "own" website, which is not a website at all. It is nothing more than a Facebook page. So, if I wanted to 1) sign up online 2) view classes online 3) get an idea of the class setup online - this is impossible to do. I then asked if there was any equipment that I needed for the class. His initial answer was no. Umm, really? Because there was a previous reviewer that said the gym REQUIRED hand wraps. So then I said, are you sure? And he said, actually, you need wraps. So then, the obvious question - what about gloves? He then said, yeah, you need those too. So basically, they want you to come in and put down money to sign up, and then show up unprepared to class so that you will have to fork over more money for "required" gloves and wraps that their front desk staff who answer the phones say are not required at all. Lastly, I asked about the classes. He said they are 50-60 minutes long and burn up to 1,000 calories. Which, anyone who reads a fitness magazine knows is a huge claim, as there are numerous factors that weigh in (no pun intended) on what affects someone's calorie burn, including age, weight, BMI, gender, injuries, genetics, etc. I then had to ask him (seriously, it was like pulling teeth with this guy) to get him to actually explain the class. Are there rounds? How many? How many seconds/minutes? Are there bags? What kind - upper cut, heavy, punching? Do you get a round to spar with the instructor so you can work on form and speed? It was a huge waste of time for me. And the whole point of the phone call was to SAVE TIME. As someone who puts in a 50-hour workweek, has many evening commitments after work, and lives in the outer boroughs, it is extremely difficult for me to factor in a little bullshit field trip into my day. I was ready to put down the money over the phone or on the website if I just got the information I needed - but I guess they just have one way of doing business, and it just does not work for someone with my hectic schedule. I wanted to sign up and show up, cut and dry, but I guess they really didn't want to give me what I needed in order to gain my business. read more

Went to my first class today at 12:30. If you go to the website and sign up for the "first shot free" class you will receive an email letting you know that this location does not offer a free class. So keep that in mind. I paid $35 (plus tax) which included $10 hand wraps (you can keep) and gloves (which must be returned). I arrived about 10 minutes early and the owner, Michael, greeted me when I walked in and took my information down and helped me wrap my hands and explained the membership details. The hand wraps make a huge difference! The classes i've taken at other locations in the past did not require hand wraps and my hands were always sore and bruised from hitting the bags. Greg was the instructor. He had us go through a drill of burpees, squats, lunges, jumping jacks, etc., as the warmup. I am not in great shape and I was already dying in the first 2 minutes lol but in a good way. There were about 15 other people in this class varying in different fitness levels. Made me feel comfortable that I was not the only one struggling during this "warmup". During the boxing drill, Greg took us through a series of jabs, hooks, uppercuts with different combinations. I liked that he walked around to every student there (more than once) making sure we had the right form. He gave everyone there one-on-one attention throughout the class. He was encouraging and motivating. The class ended with a core workout that will leave you sore for days! If you want to shower, you have to go to the front desk to get a towel. The showers were clean and provided the basic amenities you would need like bodywash, soap, conditioner, lotion, hairdryer, etc. There were only 2 showers so I can see this getting busy during the morning or a busier class. No one else used the showers while I was there so I was in and out pretty quickly. The only downside I would add is that they dont provide mats for when you are doing workouts on the floor. When you lay down to do sit ups or planks you can smell the sweat on the floor....so glad I had time for a shower. Other than that the facility was clean and very well maintained. The workout was incredible and it kicked my butt! read more

Not sure what the hype is. Classes are huge -- like 30-40 people-- so there's little to no personal attention from the coach. Also the place smells super super bad. I actually couldn't take it after half an hour and left class early. Gloves are similarly sweaty and smelly. Basically class alternates between drills of planks, push-ups, and cardio with drills at the punching bag. But no one's there to correct you or see if you're doing everything right. I much prefer the more intimate experience at Work Train Fight. read more

I was looking to obtain membership pricing for the Manhattan upper west side location. When I attempted to call to get the information the represent (Marow) refused to allow me to speak to anyone without providing my contact information. When I requested to speak to a manager she refused to allow me to do that. I'm interested in obtaining a monthly membership, however, I'd like the price first. This experience has been very disappointing and frustrating considering I'm a potential new client. This experience was a major turnoff and I'd like to speak to the manager, however, the representative refused. I called the Brooklyn location and was quoted a price no problem, amazing how it differs between the boroughs, unfortunately I live in Manhattan not Brooklyn. read more

Took my very first class here day via ClassPass. They recommend that you arrive 20 minutes early to sign in and get your hands wrapped. Do it. They also mention that gloves are free to rent but you have to buy the hand wrap for $10. I went to Modells a day in advance and got some for $5. I also purchased my own gloves as I didn't want to put my hands in funky ones. $30. SN: they clean the inside of the funky gloves with air freshener. I know because when we were doing floor exercises at the end of class one of the employees starting cleaning the gloves near me and I was inhaling that crap! The class takes place in one large room adjacent to the reception desk. Punching bags are spaced out perfectly and hang from an overhead contraption. There were probably 20-30 people in the class. There isn't a locker room but actual lockers against a wall within the studio. You'll need to bring your own lock or trust that people won't steal your things. This was my second boxing class so I stayed to the back of the room slightly intimidated. There was 1 instructor who directed us on the moves but it was hard to see him as bags were in the way. He walked around adjusting me. In between the boxing their were short circuits of push ups, burpees, lunges, crunches (on the dirty floor), jumping jacks, etc. Overall it was a good workout but I prefer a smaller class so I could get one on one attention - I didn't know what I was doing. After class I ventured to the ladies room as I needed to shower before my lunch date.There are 2 bathroom stalls and 2 shower stalls. No towels and minimal toiletries. Luckily I always bring my own toiletries but didn't know what to do about the no towel situation. While in the shower I noticed that the water was running out into the common space {le sigh} so I rushed. Dried my body with paper towels and got the hell out of there. read more

this is for sure, NOT the Midtown East location. The same welcoming and friendly staff vibe, but the people in class,,....whew! I had no idea where to stand for the warm up, everyone was facing a different location. There was an immediate air of competitiveness. The class was packed. I was surrounded by 3 men, who each seemed to be about battle someone. One didn't even do the warmup, he just came out of nowhere. the other was kicking the bag and he feet kept coming over to me which made me nervous. It was very uncomfortable, maybe i was standing in the wrong area. I can say, at the Midtown east location, i can workout and exercise and focus on what the teacher is saying. Have you seen my abs, butt, and biceps? Well you should! Title Boxing is phenomenal. The classes are a TOTAL BODY WORKOUT - seriously! I started going via Classpass and have since become addicted to continuing to build my boxing skill-set and endurance class after class. This class is by no means a walk in the park and you will leave feeling energized, sweaty, and the next morning (or 6 hours later) a little sore. The trainers are experienced and motivate you throughout the session. The boxing class is broken into three parts: warm-up (cardio), boxing, cool-down (abs). The music is upbeat and if the trainers and the beats aren't enough for you to keep on punching then the energy of everyone in the class will truly push you to work harder. Also, the staff is extremely helpful they will correct your stance and punches throughout the session to make sure you are getting the best workout possible and keeping yourself free from injury. There are towels available at the front desk if you would like to shower after class. In the locker rooms shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash are provided. Also, if you plan to shower - accommodate time! There are 2 showers in the women's locker room so plan your schedule accordingly to get to where you need to be on time. There are lockers in the main gym area - bring a lock! Lastly, there are gloves available to rent (included within class cost), but I purchased my own after my first class. You will also need to have a pair of hand wraps for class. They can be purchased at the studio in a variety of colors for $10. Gloves are also available for purchase too - many color options/styles. If you're looking for a way to burn a lot of calories, this is the place to be. I run regularly, but rarely workout my upper body. After a kickboxing class here, I felt every part of my body was targeted. The class involved 8 intervals including warm up and ab work. If your goal is to learn how to box, this might not be the best place. At least with the class I attended, there were so many people, that the instructor could pretty much only demonstrate the moves. The facility is large with bags in the center of the room. In the back they have a boxing ring, one treadmill, and weights. The bathrooms have showers with shampoo, soap, and a scale! During class, there are plenty of lockers to store your things, but there are no locks so bring your own if you care. The boxing floor itself is kind of dirty, but at the end there are Clorox wipes to wipe down everything. The staff is also very friendly and seems passionate about boxing. If you want to try out a class just to see what it's like, they offer one class as a free trial if you come in to look at the gym. You will have to buy your own wraps though. This place is also available on Classpass, which is a great way to try out the gym before committing to a membership. read more

Love it. Paid similar amounts and got a lot less. Much more compelling workout than average gym, which at least for me makes it easier to want to go each day. Trainers really all of them have been great. Off top of my head...Tony, Michael, Willie, Julie get rave reviews. It's a bit of a mental workout too, you have have some memory and smarts to keep up with the combos, but a few months I think I'll be on it. read more

A friend recommended that my girlfriends and I try this place- I have nothing but great things to say about this gym, but I'm going to try and keep this short for those who want the bulk of info without the run-on type of review. Gym: -the overall size is large, tons of bags (well spaced), good sized lockers, bathroom is very clean, gloves are nice and still new in appearance, new individually packaged wraps available for purchase, water vending machine for purchase, (thank god! Forgot mine), great sound system, fun energetic music & overall very clean gym. Registration Staff: Very friendly, greets you upon walking in, approachable and willing to assist if you don't feel well. Trainers & class: I trained with Michael and he was amazing! -High intensity, authentic, motivating, really gets into it and helps you along the way. His classes gives you the same feeling that a smaller sized class does- except there's a ton of people there! Walks around the room, repeats the drills many times, encourages you to Really PUSH YOURSELF! And PUSH YOURSELF HARD to achieve the results you will gain in the end. It's Total body workout- Focusing on the lower body, squats, push ups, lunges, jumps and all types of variations you swear you've never heard of! Plus a medicine ball that makes it all that much tougher, working the core, the arms and the legs! Second segment is focused on boxing combinations and a beginner can learn how to do them and gradually become better at it (everyone starts somewhere right) but for an intermediate/advanced person- this class is fun! Third segment is focused on the abs! Yes, it's not done until the abs are tight! Just like the first segment, he has all types of variations on how to get those sexy beach body abs going ;) Now, you will sweat and sweat A LOT! And in the end, you'll feel GREAT! It's overall a high intensity class but you can go at your own pace. The energy of the place will make you want to push yourself even further and we all know only when that happens is when you GAIN REAL RESULTS! I've taken many many classes from all over the city, and this class was by MILES a lot better than any other class. Take MICHAEL'S class and you'll understand why. Ask when exactly the busy days and times are and arrive 15-20 min early and choose a bag in the front! You'll be happy you did! Overall nothing but great things to say about this gym. If you're looking for an AMAZING WORKOUT, clean gym, friendly staff, friendly fellow boxers and a gym that has that family feel- try out this place! While they provide a facility that can give you a workout, BEWARE. YOUR WALLET WILL GET AN UNEXPECTED WORKOUT IF YOU MOVE TOO FAST AND DON'T SEE THE SUCKER PUNCHES COMING! THEIR PRIMARY INTEREST IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF A MOBILE SOCIETY TO EXTORT MONEY. My daughter signed up for their six month plan and told them that she would be leaving for college at the end of the six months. She went to school but credit card charges kept appearing. Leading a busy life this was discovered two months later. An attempt to have the charges credited back were met with threats and demands for payment of three months plus a cancellation fee [we had disputed the charges with the CC company and thus they were no longer able to steal our money after two months without rendering a service]. They were trying to get nearly $500 from us for a service never used, and then refused to accept a cancellation notice until money was paid. To add to their despicable attitude they suddenly said that since my daughter had moved she would need to get a notarized letter proving she had moved and would need 45 days cancellation notice. In other words, they keep moving the goalposts. This is not a pleasant neighborhood workout joint. If their motivation were customer service and keeping the goodwill of their clients they would send you an email or text 5 weeks before your contract was up asking you to let them know if you planned to continue, and if not you would need to cancel one month in advance or be charged. BE FORWARNED - IF YOU LEAVE CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND REFUSE ANY CHARGES. I believe in paying for services received, not finding nefarious ways to screw your clients. read more

I saw this gym in passing and never considered boxing. Now, I can't imagine doing any other fitness class or just going to the gym to workout. I did a trial class and joined immediately after. This gym is amazing and the workouts are the best! I always have fun and can't wait until I go next time. Even better: the owner, trainers, and staff are all friendly and great to chat with before and after class. Noticeable improvement in my fitness levels after only a few weeks. The high-intensity classes give you a cardio workout you just don't get in the gym. Case in point- I recently took the army physical fitness test and maxed pushups (75), sit-ups(80) and almost maxed my run (13:20 two mile). I haven't run that fast since college! I've been a member at Title Boxing Club for nearly a year now. I first came through ClassPass but wanted to come here more and more - so I joined! Since I've joined, the gym has gone through a number changes in trainers but has never faltered in quality. The classes are consistently high-tempo and challenging, regardless of who is instructing. Right now, I find myself mostly at Willie's classes because his slots work with my schedule and he's really encouraging (like all of the other instructors).The owner, Michael is one of the more popular trainers and his classes are really intense. Overtime, you will find yourself gravitating towards certain classes and know who's teaching style you like best. Besides the bag area, the gym also has a ring in the back and a lifting area to the side. The only thing it's missing, for me, is a power rack (but they do have a smith machine). The shower situation can get a bit crowded especially if you come to class before work like a lot of others do since there are two showers. But it's not a deal breaker, IMO. I came to Title with ZERO boxing experience and I feel like I've learned a lot over the course of my membership. Give it a try for yourself! read more

Be careful, be very careful with signing up for the 6 mos membership. The club's cancellation policy is deceptive and they make it hell for you to go through the cancellation process including to appear in person, sign and cancellation form. In the mean time, they will charge your CC for month to month membership at $155/month. This place is deceptive. Stay away but if you don't want to stay away, remember to make sure that when you want to cancel that you are not out $300+ dollars. read more

Came to break my streak of not going to the gym with my co-workers as a team building event. It was TOUGH TOUGH TOUGH however, it definitely motivated me and made me want to come back! We did a 15 minute workout.....and I was literally thinking it was the actual work out because it kicked my behind. The teacher was fabulous and did not judge my lack of dexterity and....fitness so that made me feel a lot better when I was dying and made me want to work harder :-) I recommend checking this out! read more

I've worked out at Title once in Texas and once - today- in NY. I've loved the workout both times. This class will kick your ass, and you'll feel like a badass afterwards. The NY employees were very helpful, and the instructor pushed us hard. He also came by my bag multiple times to help me. I appreciated that a lot. I use class pass to visit lots of gyms in NY, which is perfect for trying out places like this. If you aren't on class pass you have to sign up with your credit card, and I've heard it's hard to cancel with Title, so be careful there. I plan to make this gym a regular on my weekly rotation. Oh yes- a big PS: You will get disgustingly sweaty and do a lot of floor work. If you borrow gloves, you will smell like old shoes. Plan a shower after! read more

Hey Guys, I was shopping one day in July, passed this Boxing Club, stopped in to inquire about it... Fast forward I was really impressed with what I saw and heard. I went in a week later for my first class. Joined the club right away since I was looking for a way to improve my body. The classes are intense and excellent! The schedules are flexible with one hour sessions and I get a really great workout. I am a 71 year old retiree, African American female and I'm proud to say I'm keeping up with the youngsters, well almost. I feel great! I have lost several pounds already and my arms are awesome!!!
