Pro Tip to save you time and money: As much as possible, know the details and scope of work you need before calling. Some examples would be...how many rooms in the property, what kind of furniture and how many of each type. Are their stairs? How many? Also share the addresses of where you want them to meet you and destination. Jamone and his crew will work with you but try to be as detailed as possible to eliminate any last minute surprises like "oh yeah, I forgot to mention, everything in the shed in the backyard also goes." This will throw off their timing and cause you to incur additional charges. But they're not just a moving company. I've had them remove old carpets from a fixer upper and dispose of it. My clients flew in for a few days to close out their parent's property, an extremely sensitive matter, as you can imagine. I scheduled several companies to come by and give estimates and timelines. Unfortunately no one could beat the price we were given by 800-GJ so my clients chose them with the understanding EVERYTHING, including appliances would be removed in a max of 3 days. Clients require work done before returning to mainland. Day 1, contractual agreement made on the spot and they began work. Told to start with the downstairs, I was trying to assist my clients in retrieving mementos of their lives from the upper floor. As the day progressed, contractors asked to grab the furniture from the upper floor and clients agreed. As I returned, they saw one member sifting through closet and boxes. Unacceptable so I remained in the space to supervise as much as possible. End of day and two truck loads removed. 3/4 full and clients charged for full loads. Day 2, different crew and they were fantastic. Same amount of time and did 2x the work of first crew in a respectful, compassionate, efficient manner. Day 3, different crew again and I was disgusted. Throwing breakables that were boxed up out of anger, spite, disrespect. Shoveling a lifetime out of rooms literally with shovels and down the stairs, creating more work than necessary. No contractor trash bags. One team member fell ill and work ceased. Left home with rubbish flowing down stairs and out the door to the point we couldn't secure front door. Their manager arrived an hour after asking for full payment for half services rendered. Manager insists he will make it right by returning himself to complete the work. Given a time, we sit all day, and he doesn't show. He sends another crew to only rectify rubbish thrown in front of home causing an environmental hazard. And still insists on full payment and tells my clients to finish the job would cost another $1500 at least. I think they were hoping clients flying out that day would force them to just accept. Totaling 1.5x their contact and exceeding timeline by 3+days. Thoroughly disgusted, I called J-4 and pleaded our case. I cannot begin to describe what a night and day experience it was. Jamone and his crew arrived promptly, ready to work. First task was to clear the disaster in the walkway, entrance and stairs the other company created so that they could safely navigate the home. Room by room, they bagged and cleared items. The refrigerator was too big for the entrance but they figured out a way to make it happen. They also found old photos and other things for me to send to my mainland clients. Two full days of work, they not only accomplished the task, they cleaned the home inside and out. Sweeping and vacuuming over 15years of neglect. These guys were a godsend! They accomplished more than three days with the other company and in the most professional, respectful manner. Not to mention in the agreed upon price and timeline!!!! (Which should be a given) They did twice the amount of work in two days than the others did in 3 and cleaned up after themselves!!!!! I will never use another junk removal company both personally and for my clients. Working with people you can trust to not only do the job but in a respectful, compassionate, thorough manner.... priceless!!!!!
