When we decided to take a trip to Northern Arizona, a family member had booked this spot as many of the hotels close to where we were staying were sold out. This hotel is alright; it is kind of in the middle of nowhere without much to do near it. We stayed here as we wanted to visit the Grand Canyon Caverns near it. Prior to arriving to the hotel, I did not realize it sits directly in front of a train track. A train goes by once every 30 minutes or so. They have a box of ear plugs at the desk if you need them. While the train horns did wake me up, I drifted back to sleep quickly listening to the train on the tracks. Surprisingly we all had a decent night's sleep, but I know some people would absolutely hate the train tracks being right behind their room. Be aware unless you have Verizon or log into the hotel WIFI, your phone WILL NOT work here! We had zero service so we couldn't call or text anyone if we needed to. The hotel does have a small pool and a hot tub which were nice to use. They also have a small gift shop and a restaurant attached. The biscuits and gravy was delicious for breakfast. Arrived late. It is great arriving here. I've arrived at Hualapai Lodge since about 1993. I was what the old-timer's called an "Indian Agent." For 36 years I had a professional relationship with our Nation's tribes in Natural Resource Issues; farming, grazing, transportation, forestry, wildland fire, fire rehabilitation, forest and woodland fuels. Tribal business sense and economic development skills have grown, developed and steadily appeared. In 1981, two Traditional Elders of the Yakama and Wanapum Bands of the Columbia River said, "...We're gonna Indianize you chris..." That has happened no matter where my feet landed. Because I was formally introduced to the Baha'i Faith by a Yakama Tribal member, signing my "declaration card" on the Yakama Nation, I have participated in sharing and discussions many of my "Last of the White Guys" co-workers never knew. My views toward "Indian Country" are weighted to the positive side. I see the positive, not so much the negative. I know the distance traveled since my wife's mother was removed from her home, age 7, and trucked to the Truxton Canyon Boarding School, later to the Phoenix Indian School. That is why we booked our stay here on TripAdvisor. We ended up driving more than our planned 6 hours per day, arriving 9:30 p.m. Saturday, May, 23, 2026. We called ahead as the sky darkened. Our room waited, reserved as contracted. What did we expect? Comfortable bed, bathing and brushing, some rest, a morning meal. Be advised, Peach Springs is the source of "The Peach Springs Oscillator." The Pacific Railroad Act of 1862, "An Act to aid in the construction of a railroad and telegraph line from the Missouri river to the Pacific ocean, and to secure to the government the use of the same for postal, military, and other purposes." To sweeten the pot for railroad builders, the U.S. Government granted every other 640 acre, 1 square mile "section" of land five miles either side of the railroad right of way. The route of the 1855 railway survey passed through the Traditional Use Area of the Hualapai People. In booming rcomomies, a train every 20 minutes. Slowing economies, mote time between trains. Our economy is slowing in 2026 - at least in goods hauled by railroad. Staff was friendly, hotel was clean and AC worked great, beds were comfortable! Food in the restaurant was good. The all you can eat breakfast is $14.99 or you can order from a menu. Great spot to take tours from. We did the 1 day River Raft trip which was awesome! Couple things to be aware of: There is no cellular service available (we use TMobile). The only service we had was in the lodge using their "captive" wi fi which said it would sell our information to 3rd parties as we had to provide email and name and zip to connect..not ideal. The other thing is no alcohol is allowed on the property at all even in the room or face a $200 fine. I understand if the tribe doesn't want to sell alcohol, but a beer in the room...this should be allowed. read more

Warning! Do not stay at this hotel, it is a shyster operation altogether. I already reviewed their miserable restaurant and now I discover they blatantly overcharge. I made the room reservation at their website which informs you of an extra "concession" fee that will be charged when you check in, in addition to the very high room rate you have prepaid. We came here for our 5 year anniversary and stayed at the hotel, did their 1 day rafting trip, and ate at their diner. Hotel- Receptionist staff are very friendly! Room is pretty clean (just some hair near the toilet). They also left us a gift in the room to celebrate our anniversary! Two mugs, sparking cider, and a bag. Very kind. Booking.com stated that we would pay $404 for two nights. However, they have a bunch of fees ($15 per day service fee, and a $50 per day refundable deposit). This brought my new total to $534. EDIT: Just checked, and they actually charged us $938 for the 2 nights!??? I tried to talk to someone at the front desk, but they said they couldn't help and we would need to wait several days to talk to a manager. Diner- This was our anniversary dinner, and we came here after our rafting trip. It took a little while for service, but we didn't mind. When ordering our food, I asked the waitress if the stew was large. I was pretty hungry after the rafting trip. She confirmed it was, but when it came out, it was very small and not very warm. 1 day Rafting trip- This was $900 for two people. You end up leaving the hotel at about 8:00am. It's about an hour drive (very pretty), and you get on the water at about 9:20am. About an hour in, there is a really cool waterfall with a short hike. Then around noon, you get to stop and have lunch. We were looking forward to the cliff jumping (my bf went 7 years ago and did it) but unfortunately, they don't do that anymore I guess. The guides were friendly (we had Malakai) but they do rush you quite a bit. For the price you pay, you'd think you wouldn't be rushed so much. We were getting off of the water at about 3pm, and were back to the hotel by 5:30pm. Everything online and in our emails said we would get back around 7pm, so we booked with the impression that we had more time on the water. We definitely didn't need to stay another night there. Decided to stay here because I wanted a place close to the start of Hualapai Hilltop. The other option was the Grand Canyon Caverns, which is a no go. I saw the pictures online and it doesn't look like they did any renovation since taking over the property. I was kind of impressed when I walked in to the lobby. It was big and clean and reminds me of a Best Western. There's a small store selling souvenirs and other things. There's a cafe in the lobby that has hot cooked food. There's also a small store across the street and a gas station. So location wise, it's the best option. The room was clean and the bed was actually very comfortable. I was surprised how firm it was and each room had a fridge and microwave. The bathroom could use a renovation, but was good for what it was. Think of it more like a Motel than a Hotel. The staff was nice and the food at the cafe wasn't bad either. They were definitely short staffed though. I like that they provide you with earplugs for the train that goes through in the middle of the night, but I asked for them to put me on the highway side so that we don't hear the trains. Which we did not in the night. What's also a great option is that they have showers for those who want to clean up after the hike out of Havasu Falls. It will cost you $15.40 with tax included. They provide towels, soap & shampoo and the best part is there's no time constraints. This is a definite plus in my book. Although we didn't take advantage of it, it's nice to have that option. Before our visit I received a confirmation email that stated their hot tub was closed. This was a deal breaker because after hiking the Grand Canyon we wanted a soak. I messaged the property and asked them to waive the cancellation fee because I would be booking a different hotel. The day after we would have stayed at the lodge I received a message stating they'd denied the waiver because their hot tub does work and stating they had never claimed that it didn't. Much nicer than I was expecting. Before walking in, be sure to write down your license plate #. They will require it. Ample parking in the front and back. The hotel is within close proximity to the train tracks. Trains can be frequent and unpredictable. They have a sign at the check in desk that says they offer complimentary ear plugs. Definitely not sound proof rooms. There were 4 trains between 1900-2000. I know, because that's the time I had hoped to go to sleep in prep for the 0300 wake up. It gets worse quickly. There were 3 trains that came through between 2100 and 2200. You guessed it it. That was the second attempt to go to sleep. I slept. I didn't hear any more trains until 0145. I guess this will have to do. I'm up. 0210. 0227. 0246. 0259 0317 0331. 0339. Ugh They had a 4 star rating when I went to bed. Sleep is important at a hotel. I can not justify 4 stars. My husband has a down allergy. So we put in writing a request for feather free. At check in, she read it out loud and addressed me with "all of our pillows are feather free". Hubs woke up at midnight congested. Through the pillow down and used a hard one. Guess what? The one he had been using had feathers! Ridiculous. They have a gym that is well equipped, a marketer and restaurant on site. Jacuzzi. Swimming pool. You won't find any alcohol at any of these locations. read more

The "Lodge" is a crappy one star "hotel". The website should clearly state that this is a dry county and that any alcohol being consumed even in your hotel room will cost you a $200 fine if caught .. The restaurant is terrible, you have to pay to even drive down roads here. Also, the website to book rooms is confusing to the point that we thought we were paying for cabin rentals and ended up paying $225 a night to stay in this crappy place. There is a train that continuously runs next to the hotel day and night and blasts it's horn as it pases EVERYTIME, it's so bad they provide ear plugs for free at registration. The Hualapai Nation / Lodge, is alcohol free. They said if you are caught drinking any alcohol in the privacy of your room, you would be fined $200. They said the same thing about smoking. I don't smoke, but I was surprised they threaten to fine you for drinking anything in your own private room. They said you can't have alcohol for 15 minutes drive in either direction. Also, Train was loud, and the native workers at the hotel were clearly not excited to help people in the lobby. It was not a place I would ever recommend anyone to visit. They also claim they are close to the grand canyon, but when you get there, they give you a map for 1.5 hour drive away to get to the grand canyon. Any hiking requires a permit way in advance. We stayed at the Hualapai Lodge for one night in July the night before our backpacking hike into the Havasupai Reservation. We had a wonderful and clean room. We got a room on the highway side and had no trouble as other reviewers had mention with regards to the train and how noisy it can be. We had dinner at the lodge in the restaurant and had a restful sleep before our big hike into the canyon. I will definitely stay here again on our next backpacking trip into Havasupai. read more

First off the toilet would not flush. When I went to tell the front desk they actually asked me if I tried fixing it and gave me tips on how I can fix it. They then told me to go back to the room and turn the water off to the toilet and they would give me another room. Once at the new room, I was sitting on the bed and noticed blood on the sheets. I thought I must have a cut but I didn't. This was dried blood that was obviously from someone else. I pulled back the top cover and found more blood on the second layer of covers. read more

Don't stay here if you need sleep or any rest! The lodge is right next to train tracks and trains run every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day and as they pass the town they sound of the horn so loud and so many times even the dead can awaken! This place is terrible, and not clean! First room had no working shower and no one to fix the issue , the next available room a much smaller one - Had multiple things left in the room under the bed and in the fridge , and there is a sign that I have never seen before, regarding "staining of sheets" and towels! At this point I was too exhausted to complain . Then We got zero rest , by that I mean waking up every 15 minutes all night long! I had to crank up AC to 60 just to muffle the train horn ! ONE OF THEM SHOULD REPLACE THE RUDE OLD WOMAN AT THE FRONT DESK. This property is the nicest place in town. It is such a shame the first person you talk to is annoyed by your very existence. She doesn't say please or thank you, doesn't smile. I felt like we were a major inconvenience to her. She did not do a good job explaining the breakfast cards. She was just the worst front desk clerk I have ever dealt with. How does she have a job in this business??? The pool was clean and the hot tub was as well. There are no massage jets, just literally a hot tub. So better than nothing. The website claims the pool is heated. It is NOT heated. My husband went to this lodge as an emergency to take care of his father who lives nearby my husband stayed three days no problem there however when he got home they had an additional $800 of charges on our credit card those funds could not be used for at least 10 days. I was taken back when they offered us ear plugs for the train that passed every forty minuets . 1) tv batteries were dead requested new ones 2) no soap , shampoo , lotion or conditioner 3) coffee but no coffee pot 4) No Hot water in shower!!! Considering my options in planning to hike down to Havasupai, I opted for staying here, closer to the trail head, fully knowing that there was a train track behind the hotel and the trains ran all night. Yeah, the train was loud and did run ALL night long (at least every 20 minutes), but it took nearly 90 minutes to arrive at the parking lot/trail head from Peach Springs. I can't imagine adding another hour-ish on top of that in the wee morning hours. The Hualapai Lodge is a good 45 minutes closer than Kingman and when you want to get heading down the trail before the blazing heat, those extra minutes are crucial. The lodge itself is decent. It's clean, the room was adequate and the lady that checked us in was very nice (although no one offered ear plugs as I've read in other reviews)! I didn't use the pool or Jacuzzi but it did have both. The room also came with complimentary breakfast buffet, but since we were leaving early, the hotel offered a sack breakfast of sorts for $5. We opted to go to the store across the street the night before and get some bananas, oatmeal and such instead since we wanted to stock up on water (this is the last place I know of to buy water) for the hike down as well. We also filled the gas tank up before the morning (the gas station in Peach Springs is the last one you will see) and headed out on the long drive to the trail head at about 4:30 am. It was very dark with no street lighting. I strongly urge cautious driving. We saw many elk, deer and cow, in addition to bunnies and squirrel on the road. Hitting any of the former will alter your trip in negative ways and cause needless injury or death to an innocent animal in its habitat and potential to yourself. Unfortunately we saw one car on the side of the road with it's front end completely dented in due to hitting something very large. I imagine a cow, the dent was so large. All in all, it took about 90 minutes from the lodge to get to the parking lot where you start hiking down. I'm not heading back to Havasupai or Peach Springs anytime soon, but if I had to do my trip again, I would do the night before my hike the same way and choose this hotel again. read more

Consumer Beware. This hotel is not at all what is is represented to be online. When I booked this room, I made it clear I would be going to the Sky Bridge and coming in after a very long drive. The website states they have restaurant on site. Upon arrival the hotel did not impress. At front desk I was greeted by a large container of ear plugs, apparently for the highway and train noises, and a receptionist who spoke in a near whisper. I expressed dissatisfaction and asked to not check in. At that time, I was told I must check in but could turn around and check out right away which made no sense. I was told I could eat at the restaurant and use the facilities. Exhausted and hungry from a long travel day I checked in, went upstairs to drop my bag and came right down to eat at the restaurant. At the restaurant there were several employees running around and customers seated with no food in front of them. After about 10 minutes one of the employees came up and said they could not seat me as they were too busy. This is the only place to eat in the hotel and nearby area. Back to the front desk I went to let the receptionist know they would not serve me. She says they are not affiliated with the restaurant, and I could drive into Kingman to eat and come back. That is an hour away. I again stated my dissatisfaction with the hotel and facilities and stated I wanted to leave and not be charged. At that point I was told that couldn't happen because I had used the room. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told no-one was there. I asked her to call someone which she finally did. The decision from supervisor was that I need to ask the Tribal Counsel for a refund as they would charge my card. I have never received this kind of hassle from any hotel. Save yourself the headache and stay in Kingman or Flagstaff. There is nothing close by anyway. read more

"Checked in" at 7:30am of our rafting trip (not exactly the "norm"). We stayed in Seligman the night before, planning the included night of the "River Special" package at Hualapai Lodge to be at the conclusion of our day's trip. You can choose to stay the night before or after. Serious note: BECAUSE we booked 6-7 months in advance, we were absolutely going to receive a room AWAY from the train side. YES: Priority of rooms is based on early reservations. YES, the train runs all night long; and YES, they give ear plugs upon check-in because the train is that loud. (Funny) YES, we accepted room 231: Away from the train side, but 1 wall borders the train side. Anticipated we'd be exhausted from the trip, we opted to check in "now" & get settled (vs the front desk holding our luggage -which they would've done- in order for us to get a "better" room). We didn't worry about the train noise: Yes, it's loud, but any lack of sleep wasn't bc of that (& again, they gave us the choice). Zero complaints from us, but yes room 231 IS on the train side! Accommodations were fine: Coffee maker (in the bathroom, boo, but understandable), TV (plenty of free channels), mini-fridge, comfortable beds/pillows, nice toiletries. Embarrassed that the only pic I took was of our bathroom! Our boys enjoyed the salt water pool, and we/I loved the hot tub. From the pool through the windows, we saw an amazing fitness center (with "everything"!). The only thing I thought was kinda weird/uncomfortable was that the seating area on the 2nd floor: ? the same area used by employees on break/family members? Felt weird to walk by a group who may/may not have been staring at me as I passed by(?). At the same time, I don't want to remove the place they have to relax, but yeah, a bit uncomfortable as a guest. Recommendations: 1. Book EARLY to ensure a room away from the train side. 2. Lodging night AFTER the trip: They MAY offer early check-in, but will store your luggage for the check-in time upon return to improve your room option (if booked early). 3. (Our experience): Booking the "required" lodging night AFTER the rafting trip enhances your potential for sleep regardless of train noise and increases the appreciation of the food at their Diamond Creek Restaurant! Regardless of that statement, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! (Please see my review of Diamond Creek Restaurant!). We're absolutely delighted with how we planned our trip! My kids' only complaint: We didn't spend enough time at Hualapai Lodge! I ended up burning the cost of my one night stay at this lodge (just cancelled it because we booked it through Bookings.com) in favor of some other accommodation in Kingman. Our stay here was terrific. My husband booked it months in advance to start our Grand Canyon tour and I checked the reviews on the way here and became concerned about the train noise complaints. Happily, we experienced no noise issues at all! I always travel with Mack's silicone ear plugs but didn't use them. We also use the white noise app on the phone overnight, which may have helped. I took a nice hot bath, the bed was very comfortable and the place is spotless. The staff was excellent and overall it was a great stay. Highly recommend! read more

Do not stay here. This was honestly the worst Sleep we've ever had. The train woke us up every 15 min even with the ear buds they provide to you . The advertise it's close to Grand Canyon but it's at least 2 hours away which they didn't tell us and lastly we we're supposed to get the helicopter and pontoon tour but they didn't tell us it only runs on the weekends. I had to decide between staying here or Caverns Inn the night before our hike out to Havasupai and I opted for the lodge because I saw that Caverns Inn was on 'Ghost Adventures' and I'm not too keen about paranormal activity. LOL. Anyway, check in was easy and quick. We had a 2 queen bedroom which was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and we had a good night's rest before our hike out the next morning. There was also a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Yes, the train does pass by behind the lodge all throughout the night, but me being a light sleeper, I had no issues being up all night. If the train is a concern for you, I would recommend bringing ear plugs to help. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay at Hualapai Lodge and I would recommend anyone who is hiking Havasupai to stay here. It's about 1.5 hours away from the trailhead. read more

We wanted to visit the Hualapai Reservation and see that side of the Grand Canyon and surrounding countryside. Hualapai Lodge is the only hotel/motel in the area and we were not disappointed. Keep in mind this is a very small town so you can't expect gourmet but everything we had (dinner twice and breakfast once) was tasty and served with kindness. We stayed there the Thurs night before our hike into Havasupai Falls early Friday morning. The hotel it's self was nice, the staff was nice & the room was clean. A few things that were not communicated when we booked our rooms: 1) A train barrels through (right by hotel) every hour & sometimes twice an hour in the night.....ALL NIGHT!! It was so loud I checked to see if our window was open. 2) When turning on our AC (to drown out the train) it made an even louder clanking noise, so off it went. 3) They offer breakfast BUT NOT early enough for hikers & nothing complementary to take with you. 4) The coffee pot was located in the BATHROOM, gross!! We will be looking for another hotel (to actually get a good night sleep in) next year when we make the hike again. read more

Pleasantly surprised! I wasn't expecting much, quick one night before hiking down to the Havasupai. Two queen beds room was very spacious, trains run all night long, they gave me ear plugs but forgot about I had one. It bothered me but I knew about it before I decided to book here. Front desk staff was very friendly, they also have concierge desk with all sort of tour information available. I was looking into the white river rafting, I may have to come back here for that sometimes soon. The hotel rate includes breakfast, $5 more for hot breakfast. Restaurant at the hotel is the only restaurant in town, so you are going to eat here unless you want to drive 30 miles. Gift shop sells food and water, perfect time to buy that water before your hike. Dry nation here, so no alcohols sold. Nice bed, hot shower, clean room, friendly staff... What else do I need anyway? read more

Friendly staff and a very clean lodge. Everything was well maintained and even the restaurant had good food. It's perfect for people who want a place to stay before/after Havasupai... but it's located right next to train tracks and the train runs by every hour. ITS VERY LOUD!! Super basic lodge. Pretty much stayed here so that our drive from Vegas to Hualapai Hilltop was shorter since we planned on leaving early in the morning. It's actually pretty expensive for a one night stay but there's not much in this town. The beds were comfortable and the shower pressures were good. The only negative was the every 15 minute train that literally went by. I should've known it would be a problem when we checked in and saw that they offered free ear plugs. I guess depending which side of the hotel you're on you'll hear it more/less. But it was very loud so if you're a light sleeper I don't know how much sleep you'll get. There's a restaurant on site and they do offer a quick breakfast but we didn't try either. read more

Wow this is such an amazing lodge. The friendliness is more than in any place I have been. Wow!!! If you ever need to stay somewhere near by to Grand Canyon or even Vegas...this is the spot! Had a great time! Continental breakfast is great. The cold breakfast is delicious, if you want some hot breakfast it's 5 bucks more. Everything was delicious. Very helpful. All smiles everywhere. Homey, heart felt, and reliable. Haulapai Lodge welcomes all. This is a lodge I recommend for those who plan on venturing in this area such as Havasupai Falls, visiting the Grand Canyon, etc. It's a nice place to recover after a long car ride and rest up before your big camping adventure and vice versa. When booking be sure to request the side away from the train. We were destined for the side with trains, but to our surprise we lucked out with the side with no trains. Bring your own hair conditioner, face wash, shampoo, and body soap... this is their weak spot, sure they provide some soaps and shampoo but there's no conditioner zip zero nada. Also this area gets pretty cold, like you'll need a wool coat cold... but the lodge has a nice warm temperature at night. Free and strong wifi available at the hotel sans password. There is no service in this area for a good 50 mile radius at least, once you start your navigation do not quit the app otherwise you are doomed to a compass and paper map. Apple maps said Hualapai Lodge will be on one side of the road but it was off by a quarter mile and located on the opposite side, not too off but note that it was off so don't panic. The name is written on the side of the building and it's visible in the day, however it is not well lit at night. Dine in at their restaurant if you're hungry, it's the only restaurant in and around Peach Springs. The Ranch Salad which is basically an iceberg / spring mix salad with some diced onions, blue cheese, shredded carrots and medium rare steak with your choice of dressing was decently fresh, healthy and delicious for $12. The pizza was very pleasant and fresh, we built our own pepperoni and black olives. It is really big whether you get a medium or large...let's just say we were both starving and still couldn't finish it all medium or large, I'd say the large is good for three or four people. Try the habanero hot sauce, it's yummy! The servers here are wonderful and friendly, it's more than a restaurant it's a community effort to welcome visitors. Breakfast is included, for $5 you can upgrade to a hot breakfast which includes eggs, sausages, bacon, the works. We stuck with the basic breakfast because there was plenty of staple foods: high quality cottage cheese, a few varieties of yogurts, cereal, hot oatmeal, milk, orange juice, coffee, tea, bananas, apples, melons, whole wheat bread, white bread, jam, butter, hard boiled eggs, pastries, granola, granola bars... Overall this place is definitely not a four seasons, but it does have a contemporary touch and quality service. This is the choice lodge to stay at. Happy trails. read more

Three times I have stayed here when I went for funerals. Once while we were in the restaurant eating breakfast the staff cleared all our belongings out of our room and had them in the hall when we went back to our room. The second time they did the same thing. This time they put their hands on my purse and wallet took our other belongings at the front desk. The most recent time was about a month ago. My kids were still sleeping while we were out in the community. Housekeeping kept going into the room. They were even threatening them to get out. Told them they needed to leave. They told my daughter she needed to leave or they were going to charge her an extra day. CHECK OUT IS AT 11 A.M. they were harassing my sleeping kids at 9 a.m. I also requested a late check out at 12 p.m. all 3 times I stayed there. All three times the staff invaded our privacy before check out time and before I planned on checking out. Horrible!! read more

We booked a 1-day river rafting tour on the Colorado River, so we stayed at the Lodge, since the tour departs from there early in the morning. I was not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. I believe the hotel is fairly new, and it is comparable to a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express. Room had comfy beds, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, etc. Good lounging area, plenty of parking spaces. Service was good, pricing decent, no issues during our stay. The problem for light sleepers is the train noise. About half a mile from the property are train tracks, and 24hrs a day the train will sound it's horn, which is very very loud. I sleep like a rock, so it was no issue for me, but other guests complained. Note: they offer free ear plugs to those needing silence. We had breakfast at the restaurant (Diamond Creek) the next morning (it is free for guests of the lodge). It is "continental style" but you can order eggs and bacon for a small additional charge. It was very good. Recommended! read more
