We stayed there 6 months ago in December, and appreciated having RV plugin with a serviceable restaurant on site. I called Hualapai Lodge Resort three times, got generic answering messages, left voicemail on each of the two options. No reply came back. Nothing. When I called nearby Hualapai Mountain State Park, they knew nothing about problems at the lodge, and all their RV spaces were first come, first served. So we had to drive there. The first sign of trouble was no visible cars in the Lodge's lot. Then we saw the Roto Rooter trucks. Turns out the Lodge had septic system problems, and would be completely closed until the next day. There'd been no announcement of this in their answering messages, nothing to let callers know they were closed, short of driving up there. Customer service is definitely dead. We went back to Hualapai Mountain State Park, and were lucky enough to get a site. It was inexpensive, level and quiet. We're NEVER going back to the Lodge again. read more

We decided to cruise up for some lunch, glad we did, it was a beautiful early March day and being a Friday there were no crowds and no traffic. The place has their service nailed down. The staff were amazing, and as friendly as you could be. Super attentive, polite and downright pleasant on all levels. Couldn't have been better. The food was good, they were out of a few basic items, but that's ok, we made due and still had a great lunch. The prices are reasonable when you consider they are "the only" place in town, literally. The portions were fine, and everything was fresh. Having a full bar is key. Beers were ice cold! Bathrooms were clean and tiddy. We will be back, for sure. read more

What a gorgeous place to go for drinks or dinner! The setting is absolutely lovely, and the staff were wonderful. I genuinely loved just being there. A quick hint: I wouldn't recommend the Ribeye Steak at $34. It was unfortunately quite disappointing. Hopefully the other menu items are better or simply stop in for drinks and enjoy the atmosphere. Being surrounded by nature was such a treat, and seeing elk right outside the dining room window made the experience even more special. We met friends from Phoenix area, and we drove up from Bullhead City. We all had a great time in the pine covered Hualapai Mountains. It was, probably, 10°-15° cooler than Kingman, our room was clean and comfortable, with a separate sitting area, everything was quaint, exactly like you would think a mountain resort would be. We had every convenience, and the Bar/Restaurant served great drinks, and food. The rooms were so quiet, we never heard a noise from outside our room. Highly recommended if you want to spend a night in the mountains, close to Bullhead City and Kingman! read more

Our stay at The Hualapai Lodge and Resort was probably our best travel experience of the year. We were fortunate to get a late July 3-night reservation there in Resort Room 1 due to a cancellation. The room was very nicely decorated and furnished, with a great balance of modern amenities with historic ambience. The location is beyond quiet - it's absolutely still, punctuated by various bird calls and songs. We enjoyed watching elk browse just a few yards from the back deck (exclusive to Resort Room 1) and calmly walking along the road that passes by at the base of the small hill just off the deck. We slept very peacefully in this idyllic setting. We enjoyed several lunches and dinners at the on-site restaurant, and this property served as our base for hiking in the nearby Hualapai Mountain County Park. The staff at the on-site General Store was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The only negative of our entire stay was the repeated appearances of some local yokel who evidently never matured beyond 3rd grade. On two of the three nights we were there, he drove up in his lifted white full-size pickup truck, stayed several hours at the bar, and drove back up the hill toward Kingman. It's not just that when he left each time, he apparently had his foot to the floor despite the posted 35MPH speed limit, but he has outfitted his big toy truck with a horn that sounds exactly like a freight train horn - and is just as loud. When the bar closes, he honks the horn multiple times in the parking lot and then, as he barrels up the hill, lays on the horn in a long, continuous blast lasting a good 10-15 seconds. It spoils the evening for guests, frightens the wildlife, and disturbs the local residents. Nobody lives in this kind of wild getaway place hoping to hear that kind of crap, and certainly nobody vacations there hoping to hear that. I know it's beyond the control of the resort, but the fact remains that it was a negative part of our stay there. read more

I am only a customer of the amazing restaurant! I haven't been to the motel or cabins. It has a warm ambiance, beautiful views and delicious food. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The menu stays fresh with new items every 3 months. They have everything you expect and you can ask to have them customize your order. Every once in a while an elk or deer will get a drink in view of the large picturesque window. Its elevation is around 7000 feet so there can be beautiful snow through the trees. A beautifully decorated fireplace helps the warm feeling. It's a great place for birthdays and anniversaries. You can have conversations and it's not too loud to hear. Even in the summer it's a beautiful place to visit and eat. read more

Great Hidden Lodge in the Mountains The Hualapai Mountain Resort Restaurant & Bar is a little ways out from Kingman, AZ -- up in the hills, surrounded by trees and views for days. Honestly, just the drive up is worth it. But once you're there, it gets even better. First thing you notice is that you are in a straight-up mountain lodge- like a cozy log cabin with a little hunting lodge flair. Animal skins, mounted heads, the whole deal. It's the kind of place that says, "kick back, have a beer, and order a steak." Big windows let in tons of natural light, and we actually saw some wildlife cruising by while we ate -- pretty wild. The bar is no-frills and clean, just how it should be. Plenty of space to hang out. Staff was on point too -- everyone was friendly, chill, and actually seemed to like being there. Service was quick and welcoming. We only had a few appetizers, but they hit the spot and didn't break the bank. Even if you're not hungry, it's worth the stop just to grab a drink and take in the view. If you're anywhere near Kingman, it's absolutely worth the detour. My only regret is that I only stayed one night. What a precious gem of a place. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. My room at the lodge was clean and cozy and comfortable. And of course the area surrounding the lodge is just beautiful and serene. I had two scrumptious meals at the restaurant and the service was friendly and professional and fun! Next time I'm in the Kingman area, I'll happily take that extra little drive up the mountain to have an exceptional meal with great service. Keep in mind, phone reception might be a bit wonky and wifi is there but its evasive. I didn't mind at all. It was a nice break to unplug from the world. What a wonderful stay. Had a great last minute stay at the Hualapai Mountain Resort, called the resort the morning of and was able to reserve a king size bedroom, early check in allowed us to settle in, go for a walk in the neighborhood that adjoins the resort and then grab food at the restaurant. We sat outside with our dog and had nice conversations with locals who gave us cool insight into the area, had a great dinner at the restaurant as well. The room was reasonable priced and was quiet and relaxing, it was cool to see a dvd and a cd system in the room, next time we'll definitely remember to bring cds/dvds with us. Unfortunately the WiFi was not working so was not able to work from my room but definitely gave us a chance to unplug, our Verizon phone had service but T-Mobile did not - all in all great stay and enjoyed the area! read more

Just came home from an amazing weekend at Hualapai Mountain Resort, and we're already planning our next stay! Our room was so charming and filled with all the necessary amenities and we loved being able to sit outside and enjoy nature during the cooler evenings. The food at the restaurant was top notch and very reasonably priced; it's not everyday you can find a breakfast buffet for 10 dollars! Everyone who worked there, and I do mean EVERYONE was so friendly and accommodating and made our time there so lovely. A big thank you to all the staff, Grade A service! We highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to escape the summer heat and surround yourself with nature. read more

This review is for the restaurant only. We were visiting Kingman and decided to have lunch here. I had the steak wontons, my husband had the club sub and father in law had the deli club. The steak wontons were more hollow than anything. Each had about two small pieces of steak and a tiny bit of cheese, served with a side of horseradish for $17. The club sub did not include cheese and we were charged $1 for cheese, which is disappointing because the basic ingredients of a club sandwich includes cheese, all club sandwiches we've had includes cheese, and CLUB stands for cheese, lettuce under bacon, so to be charged extra for something that is supposed to be included is just ridiculous. Other than that, the setting was cute, and service was okay, but food was disappointing. read more

we usually love going here and taking friends from out of town- always boasting about the great food and excellent service and beautiful surroundings- unfortunately today was a fail on the food part- took some friends up there to enjoy the weekend buffet they have - we had gone a couple times before with fabulous results- today everything was cold, bacon was over cooked almost to the point of being burnt- French toast was burnt and so hard It could not be cut even with a knife- pancakes were so cold the butter was like spreading jelly on top - scrambled eggs??!! more like soggy mush disguised as eggs- biscuits cold and not even fully baked no golden brown top, potato nuggets ( more like potato rocks)- cinnamon rolls looked and tasted like they were a "heat and eat " type which would have been fine if they were heated-only thing that was hot was the gravy which was in a heated crock - it was a bit embarrassing to boast about this fabulous little treasure in the high country of the desert - the service was still great and the beauty of nature up there can't be beat- bring back the wonderful food we have come to know and love. read more

We were attending the Mayhem Motorcycle Rally in Bullhead City and decided to ride up to the resort for lunch. We had a group of twelve and were greeted with our server Kayla P. Her service was outstanding and so was the food. What surprised me was when we were finished she asked if we wanted to be on one tab or our own tab. Never have we been asked this when dining with a large party it's always one tab with gratuity added in. We paid our own and it was nice to be able to do that. A huge shout out to Kayla P! read more

Went to the Lodge for my birthday dinner. We usually eat our big meal at lunch but got to the restaurant at 3:00pm and had to wait one and a half hours before dinner was served. So we sat outside on the patio and had some drinks and people and dog watched. Finally went inside and ordered our dinner. Hubby had the Mountain Steak and I had the 12oz Prime Rib. Both were very good and came with Broccoli carrots and baked potato, but you had your choice of other sides. For dessert hubby had cherry cobbler with ice cream and I had cheesecake! We ate all the dessert brought goodie bags home and ate on it for two more days! Also we saw a mama deer and two babies out the big window, such a wonderful view. We took the 25 minute drive up the mountain from a $10/person buffet. Drive was beautiful. Plenty of parking. Place is surrounded by dear and elk. We were seated promptly and our drink orders taken. Food line was short. View and building were lovely. People were very nice. Those waitresses are very hard working. Food was a 7 out of 10. When you make a large quantity you lose quality, so I am not surprised by that. We enjoyed everything else. My kids thought it was the best ever, so a rather good use of a Sunday morning. read more

Sadely the open face prime rib is no longer on the menu. The homemade potato chips are amazing still. For breakfast you have to try on the omelet variations. . I had the Lumberjack which consist of bacon and sausage with a combination of Monterey jack and cheddar cheese. My wife had the buttermilk pancake which you have your choice of meat and 2 eggs prepared your way. For lunch our entrees were a 24 ounce porter house grilled to a excellent medium rare combined with a side of cream sauce and cajun style shrimp topped on a wonderful meal. My wife opted for the seasons along and Fettuccine Alfredo that features a house made sauce. This is served with a option of soup or salad, she opted for the salad. We both had the cobbler with a scoop vanilla ice cream. The scenery is truly breath taking. This place is a great little find. The ladies that run this place are great. Our room was cozy as heck just wished the fireplace was working which is why I chose this room. They knocked $50 off my room for that which made the place almost free! Their restaurant is also excellent with modest pricing but high quality food. Nice bar here as well. Room had everything you could need and some nice snacks. Cute little general store on the premises. Shout out to Casey who was just a great accommodating lady working there. We will be back. We love this place. We have stayed here at least four times, and it never disappoints! The room is classy and shows the craftsmanship of a master wood worker. The amenities rock!! Glass coffee cups. A full pot for coffee and lots of condiments. Notepad, candy mints, small water bottles. The bed is SUPER comfortable and has a down quilt. It felt great in the mountains. The restaurant was closed 2 of the 3 days we stayed. Next time we won't book on Christmas week. It was a pain driving to Kingman and back to the Hualapais for food. The food we ate the last day we checked out. It was fantastic! we saw several deer and elk. The kids liked the clean air and the forest animals. The shower was amazing and we loved the river rock design. Next time we will book 2 conjoining rooms the futon was not comfortable for adults but fine for kids. The long bed was spacious and comfortable but it has a plastic wrap on the mattress. To not wake up in a puddle of sweat. I remade the bed with the provided linens and used my own blankets. This allowed my pores to breathe while sleeping. Otherwise you will wake up in sweat sleeping on that plastic under their sheets. Which I under they need it for stains etc. the views are breathtaking. I recommend they install split in the living rooms too. Lodge #1 didn't have a heating source so we had to keep the bedroom door open so the heat from the bedroom could try to circulate to the living room. Just a few suggestions. The parking area is spacious. The general store was closed along with the restaurant. We didn't get to see what was in that. Even when we checked out the sign on the general store said open but the door was locked. Next time we will plan better and during the time the restaurant is open. read more

The food was mediocre, and the service by "Emma E. (?) was substandard. Our Cokes were flat, even after they "fixed" the problem. I ordered a Black Bean Burger and got a cheeseburger. When I brought it to Emma's attention she insisted she heard "burger". After going back and forth about what she heard and what I said, I let it go. She left our table saying, " I eat cow. I guess she doesn't". While I was explaining to my friend what a Black Bean burger consisted of, Emma flew back to the table insisting she personally knew what it was. She explained that it was made of "dead plants and who would want to eat rotted dead plants." Instead of offering me a Black Bean burger, Emma, asked if I wanted to just eat my fries and was ready to take my plate. Emma was rude, unprofessional, and had a know it all attitude. We had the pleasure of taking some friends out to dinner at the lodge and it was excellent. We all started with a salad. I had blue cheese dressing on mine which was made from scratch. Oh my goodness was it fabulous!! We then had our entrees, our friends both had the meatloaf, and my partner had prime rib. I choose the ribeye. Absolutely amazing, all of it. Very large portions, steak cooked to perfection, and a award winning prime rib! Everything was hot and tasty. The loaded baker was the best I have had. The service was excellent. Our waitress had just been seated a large party, so the manager served us our beverages. The server came quickly after and took our orders. As busy as she was, she was right on time with everything! If you haven't been to the lodge yet you're going to love it. It's warm and inviting with the pine furniture, the large fireplace, and the viewing window to watch for elk and deer! I had the prime rib & beer cheese sauce sandwich special, the wife had the French dip with potato wedges - she said it was arguably one of the best French dip sandwiches she's ever had. The cabin units are about 8 of them and all in one unit. Furnishings and decor is very old and tv etc dated. However fairly large and has a refrigerator and seems clean. I live in Rancho Cucamonga and every time I come to Laughlin I make sure I go to the restaurant at least once during my stay. The staff is extremely friendly like you've known them for years. The food is outstanding and extremely delicious with large portions. I highly recommend anyone taking a trip to Laughlin to take a 60 minute drive there up to the mountain pines and enjoy a great experience and watch the Elk and Deer out of the dining room windows. read more
